Duke Kleo was still fast asleep as Tania unfolded their suits. It was still early in the morning, the sun had not yet risen, and the sky was still pitch black.
She shifted her body closer to him, then positioned herself after they were unclothed. She repeatedly tried to wake him up with dirty things, including arousing him. But unfortunately, he was too fast asleep.
She woke up when she heard someone screaming from inside the room. Blinking her eyes she glanced at the crowd of people who were thronging. But after batting an eye, they were gone. That was when the guards closed the door to keep Lyra from entering.
They had known what had happened and had decided to hide it. After all, they were sure this must be a misunderstanding. Perhaps last night Duke Kleo was too tired or drunk badly to enter the room. But Tania appeared so something unexpected happened.
