Leaving Gerald and his new room, Lyra took Weggie and Tania to their new room. It was not far from Gerald's room, and closer to Lyra's. They walked in led by Ella and Gena, who seemed like the most disciplined and competent maids.
Bowing to welcome the guests in, Ella and Gena shortly opened the door to Tania and Weggie's room which the maids had prepared a few days ago.
"Please come in, ladies!" said Ella very kindly, seeming to close the door behind her with Gena after the guests and Lyra entered the room.
Lyra's footsteps felt very light. She never thought that she would be able to bring her two best friends to live in Wereal with her, although she never knew how long it would be. Now she had nothing to fear anymore because Duke Kleo said he had already paid her compensation money to Mr. Pinn.
