"Seras... thats a nice and unusual name" Caleb commented as he lead the way through the trade district, he glanced over his shoulder and watched the strange woman following him.
"You really aren't from around here are you? Where are you from? Why are you looking for that lord?" He continued to spew out question after question, his mind creating new one to ask as soon as one left his mouth.
Seras followed behind the very talkative man, she couldn't help but smile under her hood. Such a curious mind he has, she thought. She could sense that he was one with magic or well certainlly growing to be that way, he had potential to wield great power. Seras sensed it the moment she entered the gate but now being up closer and watching him, she felt like she could trust him.
"You are correct I am not, I come from a very far off land that... well hasn't been discovered but I am not allowed to reveal any more information or I shall never be allowed to return home. As for searching for the one called Ashton, he supposedly died and then came to life. Isn't that a curious thing. I am here to investigate that matter, I guess to determine if Necromancy was used or something else" Seras answered his questions, her last answer was of course and lie but she couldn't go and just say that she was here to hunt a possible demon. This world had many religions and faiths, some worshipping the Angels and Demons that had appeared in the past and even the fallen that had influenced the races, forming cults and new religions.
Caleb's eyes lit up hearing her answer, a new undiscovered land? One of that strange magic she wielded, so many more questions buzzed into his mind but hearing her true concern about revealing that information made his heart slump. A chance to learn something new, so close but risking this woman's chance to go home.. he groaned internally and sighed externally. Though he was correct that she was some kind of agent, investigating Necromancy? The dark magic that was forbidden on the surface was practised behind closed doors. Caleb of course had read books about that discipline but it never allured him like many others, he found it quite...gross. Who wants to be messing with the rotten body of some poor soul that passed on.. the thought made him shudder.
"An undiscovered land? I... won't ask as much as it pains me to want to know. If Necromancy was used surely someone would have picked up on the magic by now?" Caleb then asked before turning a corner and heading down another street, they were near the burned down shop. He slowed his pace, wanting to get as much as he could before they inevitably had to part ways.
"Not unless they used another magic to mask the first, I'm sure you can sense the "natural" magic of this city. If someone was clever and powerful enough they could create a shield that would blend into the natural magic and thus hide from detection" Seras would instantly inform him, she had been glancing at the many shops and buildings as they walked. Committing them to memory so she could find her way later, she then noticed his slower pace as she caught him right up and now was walking beside him. Her suspicious dark eyes watched him for a long moment, trying to figure out why he slowed.
"You are correct but such a spell would be vastly complex and someone with great magic would be able to pull it off with no issue, someone lesser it would take months maybe longer to prepare and cast it and even then the chances of it succeeding are slim. If what you say has happened.... that is a terrible thought, someone with that abilities messing with Necromancy at the same time...that really can't be good." Caleb thought out loud, he'd glance up and realize that Seras was now walking next to him and staring at him. He couldn't see her eyes but he could tell, he gulped and offered her the most charming smile he could muster.
The smile... it caught Seras off guard, she blinked in surprise and turned her head away somewhat confused at the heat that had developed in her cheeks from seeing that smile. She reached up to touch her cheeks, feeling the hot skin. Did she... is she blushing... A simple smile like that made her blush...she quickly shook that nonsense out of her mind.
"Ahem, no it can't but I am here to determine if that theory is true or something else has happened and to stop it before something bad occurs" Seras then explained after clearing her throat and regaining control over herself.
Caleb nodded with agreement before he looked up and he stopped, letting out a sigh.
"Well this is it the shop" he announced, pointing ahead of them. He had so many more questions but then again she still had to let him out of the gate so he still had more time to get to know Seras more.
"So I guess we should head back so I can get out this ghost town of a district and back home?" He then asked, glancing at her.
Seras had glanced the other way trying to cool her heated cheeks down, she didn't notice til he had stopped and spoken, so she had taken a few more steps forward. Turning back to look at Caleb as he spoke, then following his pointing to the shop in question. She remained silent as she stared at the building she was searching for.
