Seras stood and took in the destruction that had happened before her, the fire damage was severe but only was concentrated around the single building. The Building either side had its edges blackened and clearly they were exaculated and the buildings condemened until the repairs began, in the middle it had all been boarded up and wooden scafolding around it showing it at least the start of rebuilding has occurred. Seras could tell that this was no normal fire, it was too contained it should of easily engulfed its neighbours, this had to be it. Taking a few steps closer to the build it was then she was hit, her senses screamed as if she passed through an invisible barrier. The dark oppressvie magic overwhelmed her, she'd grimace only for a brief moment before retraining her calm demeanor. There was no doubt now a Demon is here, Seras was ready to step forth.
Caleb watched Seras with mild curiousity, what did she hope to find in a burned down building. Noticing that she flinched when she took a few steps and paused.
"Something wrong?" he called out to her as went to move after her, she suddenly spun on the spot and made him jump in surprise.
"Would it be alright if you waited here? I will only be a moment then I can take you to the gate" Seras suddenly asked, If Caleb had been "Normal" citizen he'd been totally fooled by her sudden change in subject and tone and that flinch. Something wasn't right and he wasn't sure he'd want to stand and wait out here.
"I would be a terrible part of the male species if I didn't come with you besides I've waited around long enough to get out of here and well an extra pair of eyes could help you find what you are looking off.. Actually I insist" Caleb declared stepping forward and walking ahead. He felt a sudden strong tinge of magic in the air, was this what made her flinch? It just seemed just strong magic... wait strong magic here of all places? Was Seras right and this is a shield protecting the Necromancer but he knew what Necromancy felt like, this wasn't it. It was like the same magic he sensed from Seras when she unlocked the gate, was this the reason she was here looking for him they were from the same place. Questions upon questions once again filled Calebs mind as he walked closer to the building.
Seras knew she couldn't leave now but she had the problem of the human , she promised to get him out of here so she could be alone. She turned to face him and asked her question then as he refused she just stared at him disbelief as he did the complete opposite of what she wanted. Even more so he didn't sense what she was feeling then again.. not many humans let alone the other races could be "magically" sensitive to feel demonic magic and presence. To Caleb it no doubt felt a like a tingle of magic but to her it was stronger, harsher and dark. She shook those thoughts from her head, what was she doing she couldn't let him get involved she walked after him.
"I really think you should just wait out here, It could be very dangerous" Seras called after him catching him up.
"Even more reason to come with" Caleb curtly replied. Seras sighed, he was starting to get annoying. They both stopped at the boarded up from, Caleb leaned into look through the gap between the boards. Seras just watched him, trying to think of subtle ways to get rid of him.
"Caleb, I am... very flattered that you wish to escort me on this possible dangerous task but I assure I am very capable to defend myself. However, I cannot ensure your safety and as a citizen of this city I cannot allow you to be hurt or given knowleage of what I am investigating so please wait out here and I will not be long. Then I can get you out of this district as promised, deal?" Seras calmly explained as she took hold of one of the boards and pulled it free, the wood groaned and creaked as it was pulled from its fixed state, nails included. The board almost hit Caleb forcing him to jump back as she let the board hit the floor with a clank.
Caleb looked at Seras, still only seeing her lower face from within the hood, when she expressed her concern for his safety, he was in the mind to listen to her and leave but his willpower and his hunger for knowleage were fighting each other, the plank suddenly swinging towards him and forcing him back just shifted his curiousity, how such a seemingly danty woman could rip off a nailed wooden board with her hair bare hands. As he stood staring, she had removed several board letting them drop to the floor creating a big enough gap for her to slip through. Without giving her a verbal answer he stubbornly stomped forward and climbed between the gap in the planks and inside before she could stop him.
Seras was in disbelief, for a moment she really thought the young apprentice sorcerer was simply going to turn away and wait for her, she felt him staring at her as her grabbed and pulled more of the boards free, tossing them to one side before glancing at the gap. She went to turn to speak to Caleb before he suddenly stomped passed her and climbed in, she couldn't believe it. Was this human stupid, stubborn or having a deathwish? Why not all three, she could feel frustration built up in her chest. Maybe she would have to use force or magic to stop this fool from getting in too deep, a heavy sigh escaped her lips as she climbed in through the boards after him. Just her luck to be stuck with a human with seemingly no sense of self preseveration.
