I felt a shock again as I grabbed her hands and lead her into my packhouse.
My brothers nudged each other as we passed them, not being able to speak because their mouths were full of pancakes. My mother stopped me in the hallway as we were making our way up to the Alpha family's floor.
"Who is your new friend?" She asked sweetly and sniffed the air around us. " Oh!" She said surprised. "Don't be afraid honey, no one in the Snowblade pack will hurt you."
I looked at Constance and pushed her in front of me so my mom and Luna could get a better look at her.
"My name is Ella." She grabbed Constance's hands with her right hand and used her left to lift her chin. "Have you had anyone tend to your wounds?"
Constance shook her head, still not able to speak.
"Bambi!" My mom said looking at me angrily.
"Mom! I was going to call the pack Doctor up as soon as she felt comfortable." I snapped at her then dropped my gaze and voice. "I know she is hurt and in pain, I just didn't want to overwhelm her. She's rare and I want her to feel safe."
I realized that I was picking my nails nervously, I never liked yelling at my mom, but since my first shift this summer, I'd been having anger issues.
My mother glared at me and 'tutted', her eyes flashing with power. I bowed my head with respect, "Sorry Luna." I said quietly.
"Apology accepted." She replied. "Now run along and I'll let the pack hospital know we have an injured shifter in the house that needs attention."
"Thank you, Luna," Constance said quietly.
I grabbed her hand again and led her to my room.
