"Guess who's going to college?" Rosalind asked proudly after racing up the stairs to find Izzy in their room and tell her the good news.
Her mother's eyebrows shot up. "For real?! They're having you skip straight from sixth grade to college?!"
"Yeah, isn't it amazing? I might actually be challenged for once."
Izzy shook her head in disbelief. "Crazy. Good for you, Roz! I'm going to miss you though. You'll be far too busy for the likes of me since I always get almost all of my homework done at school."
"Oh please. I can still go to the library with you to do my homework while you read. How could I be too busy for my best friend?"
She seemed touched. "Do you really consider me your best friend?"
"Izzy, you're my only friend. That automatically makes you the best one I have," Rosalind pointed out.
