Chapter 3 - 3 Decision

"And it looks like it's not humans what we are fighting"

Alex inspected the footprint in front of him while trying to think of anything that could possibly be big enough to leave this, but immediately dropped as a bigger question was not what left it but the fact that it was roaming the area he was was now.

"Can we really beat that?," remembering that he was not alone maybe there was a small chance if we worked together.

Looking back to the supposedly army with optimism since there is strength in number he began to observe his kin before he let of a long sight and began rubbing his templates, a headache was forming from either stress, anxiety or being under the sunlight for a while now.

Slowly removing his hand from his face he glance back to what now looked anything else but an army before cursing his luck.

"There is no way we can fight anything with things like this, I'm not a general or anything but even a idiot can see is imposible"

He was excited when he first notice the amount of people behind him, not being alone meant a lot of mental relive but also the sheer number make him feel safe, humans where sociable animals that lives in communities, no matter how antisocial a person is have them alone for long periods of time and they were bound to become crazy as their mind would start deteriorating as time passed, but now looking at what was in front of him made him regret getting his hopes up.

"No matter how weak or strong of a force you were facing you needed at minimum some level of discipline and mental fortitude to even think about joining a military force, much less engaging in actual combat" Alex though as he tried to assess the situation he was in, looking at the ones in front of him either scared, crying or picking fights as they let different emotions get ahold of their rationality.

Loki g closer he began noticing they were all quite young, in fact no one looked older than 30, also he began noticing young ones varying from 10 to 15 years old mixed between the more older adults making him clench his teeth in anger at whoever brought him here.

"These are regular people not soldiers, them fighting against anything, much less some kind of monster is but a pipes dream" by that point Alex had chose to trust his gut feeling that whatever left that footprint was definitely not some kind of animal, he already been teleported somewhere, magically dressed with armor and found himself with an battalion of who knows how many people behind him, he wasn't stupid enough to think he just got lucky and found a dinosaur footprint by accident.

Staring at the group while thinking about his next course of action he though for a few more minutes until finally deciding on his next course of action.

"Lets get out of here, with this much noise is just a matter of time until something find us and I'm almost positive it won't be friendly" finally decided on what to do he immediately started to looks for a direction to go, it was risky going anywhere with out any information or idea of what to expect but standing doing nothing was definitely certain death by either the conditions of the place he was in or whatever they were supposed to engage.

"Everything looks the same no matter which way I look"

Looking around all he could see was a dry death land without any hint of life except for for the random thin trees scattered around him, the ground was cracked and barren as if rain had long forgotten about the land he was standing, no a shade of green in the horizon just reddish brown earth as far as the eye can see.

"Should I pick a random direction? It would be better that standing next to this guys" he murmured to himself as he picked a random direction to go when suddenly, he remembered something.

Raising his head to looks at the group of people he realize he overlooked a hide detail, finally finding his answer.

"They we're standing as if ready to engage in battle at any moment" remembering how he first saw the position the (troops) were.

"You don't move an army like this, usually is a long line of different unit following each other to make travel more faster and efficient but he found them as if they already assumed their position before a charge, so that means?

Alex turn around and began glaring at the horizon. "Whatever we are waiting for is coming that way"

Keeping his eyes looking at the vast desert as he analyzed the situation.

"So unless I'm unlucky enough and we get ambushed going the other way is the most safe way out"

Thinking about finally finding a solution to his precarious situation he began to get optimistically until another problem formed in his mind.

"How can i make it out of here without food or water?" Just by looking around he knew there was nothing as far as the eye see so he will not get out in just a few day, he was by no means a hunter nor he could differentiate between plants, not that there were any to be gain with, food would definitely be a problem.

"At least I got water" thinking positively as he held the water pouch in his hand and finding it almost full of water.

"It should last for a day or two" looking at the pouch he realized he also had a small leather bag tied to his belts and immediately opened since it felt a bit heavy, meaning at least it wasn't empty, and to his surprise it was filled up with different things.

A smaller bag containing what it looked as some kind of coins, a folded piece of paper, a small dagger about the size of his hand and something cover by a piece of cloth which after removing made form a grin.

"Dried meat, perfect!"

Just what he needed, some small ration to go, it looked that whoever got it him was not a total jerk after all, but still it was not a lot , just a few pieces that would hold him for a about a couple of days if he really ration it, but still bought him some extra time, " glass have full"

Finding he was not totally damn to die in this place he began to put everything back inside the bag to leave when he stop.

"Wait!, we should all be geared similar here so that means?"

His sudden realization made him look back at the people who we're still causing a commotion, except for a few more level headed ones trying to make sense of the situation they we're in, but he quickly ignore them as he stared at their waists.

"They are also carrying it too?"

A small smile formed in his face as he looked at the ground noticing many had dropped their bags and pouches while fighting each other or crying.

Slowly the smile transformed into a evil grin that even demons would find refreshing as the started running toward the mass of people.

"Time to loot an army"
