Note: last weeks update was uploaded with missing dialogue. Today I updated chapter 26 and 27 to include the missing part. I apologize about the confusion.
"Allow me to introduce myself," the beautiful fallen angel said while sporting a wicket smile that served as the front to the malicious spirit that lived within him. "My name is Domenico and I present my humble self as your servant." The sarcasm in his voice, that was tainted with malice did not go unnoticed. "Allow me to deliver the message that serves as an invitation meant for only you." His strong gaze landing on Ezequiel, scrutinizing his every fixture and reaction. It was as if he was the predator reeling in its prey.
Ezequiel felt the strong, evil gaze mooring on him, but that did nothing to him as he kept his ever-cool demeanor. He now understood why they were here, and he did not need Domenico to continue with his delivery. His reply was going to be the same, regardless of what was Domenico's chosen words, however, there was something that intrigued Ezequiel. As much as he tried to put the pieces together, he still could not figure it out.
"Who is the one who sent you?" Ezequiel asked not beating around and wasting another second.
"Aren't we the impatient one?" Domenico replied with a chuckle that was as divine as it was sinful, sending chills all around. Then focusing his hollow, gray eyes on the group in front of him he continued, "that fact will have to wait." His evil smile never leaving him.
Ezequiel was not going to insist. Since the moment that inquiry left his lips, he knew that getting that information was not going to be easy, but still he was not going to give Domenico the satisfaction of knowing that he had been caught off guard and that this turn of events was something unexpected. He had walked into their trap. Deliver himself and that was going to be the only mistake he would make.
Moving his gaze from Domenico to Amada, Ezequiel could see that she could play the part of female fatal to perfection, but beyond her alluring shell he noticed the disgust in her face every time Domenico caress her fair skin. Although, his touch was as light as a feather the repulse the ooze from her was impossible to hide. For Ezequiel it truly looked like she was a lost soul, a demon who had fallen into a deeper hell than she expected and perhaps, without her knowing she was screaming for help, screaming for someone, anyone to pull her out and bring her back.
"That will come in handy," Ezequiel thought to himself realizing that Amada had the potential to serve as an allied, but for now that would have to wait for there was another pressing matter that required his attention.
Ezequiel was not stupid. He already knew what was to come, it was all to expected. But even though he could now see thru their plan and reason for bringing him here, he had to keep calm and make sure that his men as well as him would live to fight another day.
Domenico could sense Ezequiel's mind working at a fast pace, but for him that brooming storm that was building up in those crimson red eyes was shock, shock at realizing that he had walked himself into his trap.
"How fun would it be to end him here, but I guess that will have to wait." Domenico did not care in the least that he said such a threatening phrase out loud for everyone to hear. But to his ridicule and disappointment his words did not faze Ezequiel at all as his exterior was like a calm frozen lake in a cold winter day.
"How dare you?!" Rage was evident in Charles's voice as he took a step closer to the stream, reaching for his sword that was secured in its letter restrain.
"Easy Charles, we are not here to fight," Tobias the second demon on their entourage spoke up for the first time in the night. He was a man of few words, but implacable delivery, "Unless Lord Ezequiel commands it words are just words, and they do no harm."
Charles turned to look at Ezequiel, his eyes a living storm. Ezequiel made eye contact with him. His expression calm and smooth as if his life had not just been threatened. Then with a soft nod Ezequiel urged him to look around. Charles quickly understood the implication of the silent message. They were easily outnumbered, and a fight would not and could not end on their favor.
Charles knew that there was no point on getting this aggravated. He took a deep breath to calm his wrestles heart and focus on the ground looking for composure.
"What a good dog, listening to his master. I wonder what other tricks you can do." Venom was seeping thru Domenico's teeth. It was obvious he was looking for a provocation a reason to fight back.
"Enough! Just go on with it and relay the message that your master sent you to deliver," A smirk resurfaced on Ezequiel's face, "Let's not be fool about the fact that you clearly cannot touch us, otherwise we would already be dead. So be a good dog and speak now while you still have my attention." His words were provocative and annoyingly offensive for the fallen angel.
Domenico could not hide his anger as he curled his hand into tight fists, but no matter how he tried to look at things Ezequiel was right. He was given specific orders to not touch him and his men, however, there are always loopholes to an order and he was sure to find one.
Seeing the anger in Domenico's face, Charles and Jozeph could not help but smile. It was a smile that demonstrated how please they were in knowing that Domenico had been delivered a hard blow that would take him a while to recover from.
"Fine," Domenico could not help but state. "I am sure of what your answer will be, and this is a waste of my time. Know that if it were up to me, I would kill you right here and right now…"
"But it is not up to you so get on with it," The seductive voice of Amada interrupted his speech.
Domenico turned to his right where Amada was standing and without even thinking twice delivered a strong slap on her beautiful face. Without retreating his hand, he caressed the reddening cheek and moved to hold her chin, turning her to face him. Holding her chin, he moved his thumb to smooth her bottom lip that was now bleeding due to the strong slap.
Anger was clear on her eyes as she tasted the blood on her mouth. If this had taken anywhere else, that slap would have cause little to no harm, but because the forest took away her powers, she felt the pain all the way to her core. Tears were threatening to roll down her eyes, but she was not going to give him the satisfaction of breaking her so contrary to the obvious emotions of pain and anger that she was airing, her lips widen into a beautiful and wicked smile.
She was not going to let him break her, not today and not ever.
"I've told you. This beautiful mouth of yours will get you in lots of trouble. It is best you let me tame it." Domenico felt no remorse as he kept stroking her luscious lips.
