In the grand office room of Elysium there sat Michael at his desk lost in thought. His eyes never leaving a single spot on his desk that seem to hold the answer to the riddle that was dancing on his head. His hands kept playing with his wedding band spinning it over and over. Outside the grand window the sun was close to setting. The orange colors of the late afternoon sky dancing away as if a beautiful melody had conjured them. Michael knew that this day was soon to come, but in his mind, this was all happening much to earlier than he had anticipated.
Silence reign in the office that was both dark and peaceful. Michael liked to come here to gather his thoughts and think of a plan of attack and today was no exception. He knew that there was a pressing matter that required his attention.
Suddenly a knock on the door brought him back to the present and to the impeding dilemma. Trinity his second in command and best man in his army stepped in.
"My Lord Michael, Lord Yazakiel and his son Lord Ezequiel have arrived." Trinity an imposing soldier with a thick built informed Michael. Michael, however, never looked up to acknowledge him or the information he had received. He just kept spinning his wedding band as if he was still in the midst of deciphering a dilemma that no one else could.
"I will let them in," Trinity who was used to his lord's way of acting informed him before turning around and leaving the office.
As soon as Trinity closed the door Michael slapped his hand on the spinning wedding band putting an end to its movement, sulking about was not going to be helpful at all. He stood up and went to open the door to welcome his guests.
Just as Michael opened the door to his study Trinity was rounding the corner with two men behind him. One of them was Yazakiel lord of the dark forces and the other was Ezequiel his son. Michael stared at Ezequiel who was the spitting image of his father. Tall, dark, with an unfriendly demeaner that was sure to frighten anyone who attempted to get to close.
"My friend, you are all smiles as always." Michael directed his sarcastic comment at Yazakiel who was in no mood to joke.
"It's good to see you Mikael, but at least for today do spare me the sarcasm. There are important matters to discuss." Yazakiel responded back not giving Michael the chance to engage him in his bantering.
"Then for today I shall spare you, my Lord." Michael responded as he vowed. "Please, come in." Michael waved his hand to give entrance to his office allowing his guest to come in.
"I don't believe we have met," Michael said as he turned his attention to Ezequiel the young lord who was as rigid as he was quiet.
"Of course, you have not been introduced." Yazakiel stepped in "This is my oldest son, Ezequiel."
And at this introduction the ever so quiet Ezequiel stood rooted to the ground and simply vowed, not caring to add any words or comments to the introduction his dad had given him.
For his part Michael shared a look of wonder with Trinity. They could feel a strong energy coming from the young man in front of them, but just like his father it seems as if his best asset was the element of surprise. Michael was sure Ezequiel was not going to demonstrate or show anything beyond what he was required.
Michael's eyes linger on Ezequiel, and he could not help, but smile. He was sure this young man in front if him had to be one of the strongest and smartest beings he will ever encounter and he was excited to see all this unravel before his eyes. What would take for Ezequiel to lose his composure? Michael pondered and wondered of ways to make this young devil lose his cool. For as long as he could remember he always found it extremely fun to tease the boy's father and now as luck would have it seem as if life had placed before him another great and challenging distraction.
"How fun." Michael whispered to himself but in a loud enough tone for Ezequiel to hear him. At this comment Ezequiel raised his head and met Michael's piercing blue eyes. Ezequiel had no idea what Michael meant. And by looking at him he felt as if he was being studied. It was a feeling of Michael knowing something about him that he had no idea. A secret within a secret about his persona. Although curiosity did strike him, this curiosity was not strong enough to make Ezequiel react. He was the first to break eye contact.
"Stop teasing the boy," Yazakiel's voice both amused and annoyed. "We don't have time for your little games.
Michael who was still staring at Ezequiel then burst a small chuckle. It indeed looked as if he knew something that the rest of the men ignored. Trinity who was used to Michael's unpredictable and carefree attitude could do nothing but role his eyes. At times he hoped that Michael would take the time to read the room. There were times when it was okay to have fun and joke around, but then there were times like right now when composure had to be maintained.
Michael stole a last glance from Ezequiel and as if someone had asked him, he responded, "Soon, very soon that composure of yours will be lost. For your father what did the trick was your mother. I wonder if for you it will be the same?"
Yazakiel just rolled his eyes and sat down in a chair in front of Michael's desk. Then he gave Michael a piercing, threatening look that urged him to stop. It was not the time to deal with his son's personal life. For his part Trinity felt like it was time to intervene and bring this meeting back to its original purpose.
"My lord there are important matters to discuss." Trinity said urging Michael to continue with the business of the day.
Michael then took a deep breath, bringing his palms together, with his fingertips touching his lips he breath in one last time and simply replied, "Right" before making his way to his desk.
"So old friend, what is the plan to end these rumors about Arcones?" Michael asked as he was sitting down. A knowing look on his face indicating that he was aware of the events that were occurring on Earth.
