Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Sometimes I was alone with mild pain. Although it is usually at night, I have been feeling this pain during the day since I came to England.

I couldn't stand Ezgi's insistence and told her about our secret. Although he said at first that it was a harmless childhood secret, he did not leave me alone, believing the sanctity of our secret as he saw the pain I suffered. He already knew Cesur. For a year since I came to England, she had been devastated from listening to Cesur every night for a year. We went out one night to forget everything, and after that day we promised each other not to talk about Cesur again.

That's what happened. Despite my severe arm pain that came at night, we had never mentioned Cesur and just waited for him to pass.

I would not think of Cesur tonight, and I would read all the prayers I know to relieve my pain.

The loud knocking of the door woke me up from my nightmares. I fell asleep by the window again. It would be nice if I made a bed in here every full moon night. Because every morning of pain, I found myself in front of the window. I opened the door as the noise of the door continued to enter my head.

"Don't tell me you're still asleep, Asli. Stick to our plan," Ezgi said, and threw herself on the couch. "Get ready. My suitcases are in the car. We're getting yours now and we're leaving, honey."

The excited smile on his face got me excited too. Now that I have graduated, there was no obstacle in front of us to return to Turkey. We promised to hit the road on the morning of the night I graduated.

"I've got my suitcases already ready, let me take a nice shower. Then we're leaving." I said and hurriedly jumped into the shower.

After the plane trip, we came to Turkey. I traveled an hour by taxi and returned to the house I left with my grandfather with Ezgi.

I felt like my heart was going to explode with excitement. The big house looked pretty good, although we encountered a veranda that was a little battered by the winters. We left our luggage on the veranda. One of the ropes on the swing in the garden had snapped. I looked at the path. I was barely holding back to throw myself into the woods a moment ago. I wonder what condition my tree was in.

"Are you going to open the door now, Asli?" I smiled at my cousin, who was starting to whine. I took the key out of my bag and opened the door.

The interior of the house was stuffy and the area was very dusty. First I opened the windows, since it was summer, it was chirpy and warm.

I nodded to Ezgi as she walked around saying, "The house is huge." "First we'll do a good cleaning, we have to dedicate it here, Asli. I can't wait to spend our whole life here. This house will make me younger, I swear."

"I'll turn on the water and electricity," I said as I made my way to the outer door. First I found the water valve and opened it. As soon as I removed the electrical switch, I threw myself back with a big bang.

Ezgi "Asli, what happened?" When he came to me shouting, he looked at me with the electric condition and took a nice sigh.

"It's a bit worn out, I think. We'd better call an electrician." I said. I went in and looked for the little diary my grandfather kept for these things. I took it from the pull of the TV unit and looked at what was there.

I found an electrician number and called. "They said they'll be here in half an hour," I shouted to let Ezgi know.

Ezgi said, "Okay, let's pack those suitcases."

Half an hour later, we went downstairs with a knock on the door. The electricians must have arrived. "Good afternoon, we're here for electricity," the old man at the door informed. It was already finished right next to me in Ezgi.

We were both looking more at the young man carrying his belongings in the back than the old man standing at the door. When you see such a handsome electrician in your life, I think you have to climb one of the biggest electricity poles. You wait for hours for him to come and save me.

I, the sanest of us all, went out onto the porch to show the old man the conditional. Ezgi stood still, busy staring at the young electrician. He needed to wipe the leyla smile off his face as soon as possible.

The young man, of course, got his share of Ezgi's gaze and smiled at her. On top of that, he had a wink.

After the old man looked at me carefully, I couldn't understand the smile that appeared on his face. "Aren't you Tahir's grandson?" he asked.

"Yes sir," I replied.

"I wouldn't be able to recognize how much you've grown in four years. Tolga, look at this condition and see what it has."

There was no trace of the young man's earlier smile. He's staring at me intently, his eyebrows furrowed on top of that. I don't know if he knew me, but it was clear that he wasn't happy that I was here.

He started to deal with the conditional without delaying the old man's words. "So you're back, where is Tahir?" the old man continued.

I said, "My grandfather passed away," and I didn't neglect to make a statement saying "Heart attack". Although I did not miss Tolga's momentary pause, I was not very present.

"I'm so sorry," said the old man in a really sad voice. "My condolences. Tahir Bey was a very nice man."

I nodded to confirm him. Without taking my eyes off Tolga, I continued, "I came here with my cousin. We plan to stay here now. We don't want any problems with electricity." I was sure Tolga was listening to us.

"The conditions need to be changed," said Tolga in an ironic voice. He stuffed his tools into his toolbox, and without even looking at me, he got off the porch and walked to the car.

"Tomorrow we'll make a new conditional here, Asli. You'll manage for the night." said the old man.

"We'll take care of it, but please don't leave it late tomorrow," I said. The man agreed with me and got into the car and left.

"There's something strange about this kid," I said when I walked in.

"Besides being extremely handsome, for example?" I couldn't help but roll my eyes when Ezgi spoke up.

"It seems to you that, Asli. You are number one in making paranoia," she said. "Stop being lazy, get up." He didn't forget to add.

"No, Ezgi. She didn't seem to like our coming here." I said.

We cleaned the house all day. Since there was no electricity, and we were tired, we made our way to our beds early.
