Chapter 31 - Sparring With Lydia

Walking in the training hall was Abel and Lydia since Mr. Davis instructed them to give to leave the living room, the only place they could go to was the training hall.

"So how far have you gone with your training ever since you became a vampire" Lydia broke the silence with her question.

"I can't say that I am better at controlling my ability yet, especially my bloodlust which seems to be difficult for me to control" replied Abel.

"Hehe, that is how it is for new turning but don't you worry, it will only be a matter of time before you can control your bloodlust" said Lydia as she tries to encourage him.

"Enough about me, let's talk about you now. Haven't you started trying already" asked Abel?

"Why don't I show you want I can do in the ring" reply Lydia with a smile.

"Are you serious about that, because I'm a vampire and you are just a human?" said Abel.

"What if you are a vampire, does it mean that you are invisible" asked Lydia.

"Not really" replied Abel.

"Good, now are you going to spar with me or you are just going to stand there while whining like a baby" said Lydia.

"Okay, challenge accepted but be careful because I won't be going easy on you" reply Abel with a laugh before heading to the ring.

"likewise" said Lydia as she follow suit.

Getting on the ring, Lydia decided to take off the mini jacket she was wearing before getting on her fighting stance which Abel finds strange when seeing how confident she is about fighting him.

"What's the matter, are you scared of being beaten by a lady" ask Lydia with a smile.

With a chuckle, Abel also got into a fighting stance before signaling her to make the first move.

"You are going to regret your decision" said Lydia before running at him which kind of seems slow to Abel as he took a step back before side walking to his left just when she threw a punch forward before he kicked her at the back of her knee lightly before distancing himself from her.

"That's one point for me" said Abel with a smile while lifting a finger.

Getting up from her kneeling position, Lydia didn't give him the chance to prepare himself before launching an attack on him which he easily avoided before sending a kick on her backside.

"I guess that I am too fast for you" said Abel with a smile.

"you are beginning to annoy me" reply Lydia a little angry as she threw a punch at him which he evaded but Lydia's attack didn't end there as her left hand was going for his chest in a palm strike as Abel was struck squarely in his chest.

Taking a step back, Abel stare at her in surprise for he never thought she would be able to land a hit on him and seeing the look on his face, Lydia couldn't help but smirk before going at him in an attempt to land another hit on him since he has lost his focus.

Seeing Lydia coming at him with a fist, Abel pull his left palm forward to meet the punch but unknowing to him, it was just a feint as another fist hit him on the face before she follow up with a leg sweep which brought Abel down.

"So what do you have to say now" asked Lydia with a smile while sitting on top of Abel with a fist suspended an inch from his face.

"I never you could be this good" replied Abel.

"hehe, I have been trained by my parents" said Lydia with a laugh before getting up and lending him a hand.

"I wish I have someone to teach me how to fight just like your parents did" reply Abel.

"Come on, you have Mr. McCray who is more of a teacher than my parents and besides, I know that you went easy on me" said Lydia with a smile.

"No, I did not, I don't go easy on a fight" replied Abel.

"If you didn't go easy on me, then how come you never used any of your vampire ability" asked Lydia.

"That would be unfair of me" replied Abel.

"Which is what I am talking about, if you were to use all your means in the fight, I won't be a match for you" said Lydia with a smile.

"true, so how are you progressing with your banshee training" asked Abel.

"Well, banshee training is different from vampire training where you will have to make use of your abilities. The banshee training is more like experiencing it first hand, just like how I saw the vision of that body, it just comes to me" replied Lydia.

"I see, no wonder you couldn't predict when the death is going to happen" said Abel.

"That is why my parents are here to discuss matters with Mr. McCray" replied Lydia.

They chat for a little longer before deciding to head back to the living room since they have spent enough time in the training hall. Walking into the living room, it seems like they were done with what they had to discuss as they could hear the sound of laughter.

Seeing the two walking in, Mrs. Davis suddenly spoke up.

"I was about to come to get you since we are done talking".

And just like that, the Davis family bid farewell to the duo before leaving.

Being left alone in the room with Mr. McCray, Abel decided to ask him if they have found any lead on who was responsible for the death.

"We still don't have any clue about who it was but since the killing occurred in the school premises, the possibility of another student dying in the school is high, so Mrs. Davis decided to apply for the post of a teacher. That way, catching the killer won't be a problem" reply Mr. McCray

"Now we are having another teacher" commented Abel with a laugh.
