Chapter 33 - Ghost's Presence

Making their way into Mr. McCray's office, Mr. McCray couldn't help but frown when seeing their two.

"Did you have another vision yet again?" he asked.

"Not at all, but there is this voice inside my head that is telling me to help her else other people will be killed" replied Lydia while staring at him.

"A voice you say" asked Mr. McCray.

"Yes sir" replied Lydia.

"Do you by any means know what is happening" asked Abel after seeing Mr. McCray staying silent?

Instead of answering his question, Mr. McCray turn to Lydia and asked.

"Did your parents know about it".

"yes Mr. McCray, they only told me it's just a sign that something bad is about to happen" replied Lydia.

"they aren't wrong when they say it is a sign that something bad is about to happen but there is also something they didn't bother to tell you" said Mr. McCray.

"Please do tell sir" Lydia hurriedly beg Mr. McCray to tell her all he knows since her parents are keeping it a secret from her.

"I don't think you are ready to know yet" reply Mr. McCray with a sigh.

Hearing that Mr. McCray also didn't want to say a thing to her all because she isn't ready according to them while she has already been drawn to the whole matter.

"don't you think that you are hiding too much from me and how do you expect me to get rid of the voice inside my head when you people don't want to tell me what I need to know" said Lydia with grits teeth.

Seeing that she is right about that, Mr. McCray let out a sigh before speaking out.

"actually there is no voice inside your head rather a ghost is by your side all this while and if I am not mistaken, it should be one of the killer victims".

After knowing the source of the voice in her head happened to be a ghost, Lydia couldn't help but shake as she asked in a stammering voice.

"D-id you just say a ghost has been following me around".

"You got that right. This is the reason why your parents didn't want to tell you about the ghost's existence because you won't be able to take it" reply Mr. McCray.

Noticing that she is showing the other party more reasons why they should keep things from her, she quickly put her ass together as said after clearing her throat.

"If what you say is true, then why can't I see the ghost".

"oh Lydia, I guess you have a lot to learn about being a banshee"

"you see, ghosts just don't make their presence known to others unless they met the required condition" reply Mr. McCray.

"And what is the condition one has to meet in order to see a ghost" asked Abel who had remained quiet since the beginning of the conversation.

"It's quite simple, all you have to do is tell the ghost to show him or herself" reply Mr. McCray.

"you hear that Lydia, so why don't you summon the ghost right away" said Abel in anticipation.

"I don't think it would be possible for you to summon the ghost right now" reply Mr. McCray as he cut him short.

"Why did you say it won't be possible for her to summon the ghost" asked Abel.

"That's because she is not alone abs the said ghost is not in my office" reply Mr. McCray before asking Lydia if she could still hear the voice in her head only for her to shake head.

"Well if you happen to hear the voice once more, just excuse yourself from the hall and try to make a contract with it since it is our only lead in finding who the killer is" advises Mr. McCray.

After they were done discussing about the matter with the ghost, Mr. McCray drove them out of his office since there is nothing left for them to talk about. And the moment the duo left his office, Mr. McCray took out his phone and dialed Mrs. Davis's number which connect within seconds and a voice could be heard from the other side.

"is anything the problem for you to call me at this time" asked Mrs. Davis.

"Your daughter just came to my office with a complaint about hearing a voice in her head and according to what she told me, you already know about it. So I want to ask, what are you and your husband planning to do about it" reply Mr. McCray with his question.

"We are thinking using some means to draw the ghost out so as to let her have some peace but that would be if the ghost continues to disturb her" said Mrs. Davis

"I suggest you just let it be since she already knows what it is and I don't think you would be able to force the ghost to speak once you force it out" reply Mr. McCray.

When Mrs. Davis heard that Lydia has already know what has been giving her a sleepless night, she couldn't help but pause for some time before speaking up.

"You told her about the ghost's existence".

"look Mrs. Davis, I know you and your husband don't want her to be involved in this but you are forgetting that she has already been drawn to it and if we want to catch who the killer is, I believe she would be able to help big time so I don't see any reason why I shouldn't inform her" reply Mr. McCray.

"let's just hope so then" said Mrs. Davis as she want to believe what Mr. McCray said is true.

"With that out of the way, do you notice any abnormality in the school" asked Mr. McCray.

"Everything seems to be fine so far" she replies.

"that good to hear, just keep a watchful eye over the place" said Mr. McCray before hanging up.
