Chapter 29 - The Truth

"Of course not, last time was a werewolf and next was an Arachne who almost eat me" said Abel with a smile on his face.

Lydia couldn't help but look at Abel with a surprising look before turning to Mr. McCray only for him to nod his head at her which confirmed that Abel was saying the truth.

"Who would have thought that there would be an Arachne here" said Lydia.

"Let's forget about that for now and talk about you Lydia" reply Mr. McCray in all seriousness.

Abel and Lydia became quiet when they heard Mr. McCray speaking as they waited to hear what he was going to say.

"I thought all banshee has the ability to predict if something is going to happen like a week before it did, so why is your case different" asked Mr. McCray.

"Actually this is my first time having a vision ever since I have awakened our bloodline" reply Lydia with her head lowered.

"wait did you just say this is your first vision" asked Abel in surprise.

"Yes alright, this is my first time having a vision about something happening" replied Lydia with her pitch getting her.

"Calm down alright" said Abel while taking a step back.

"Now I understand the reason behind your parent's return to Warlington after so many years" commented Mr. McCray with a smile.

"Why is that Mr. McCray" asked Abel.

"if I am not mistaken, you recently awaken your bloodline right so your parents came back knowing fully well that you won't be able to hone your new ability over there where it is safe and decided to take you to one of the towns that are filled with mystery" reply Mr. McCray while looking at Lydia.

Lydia went silent for some time before she finally speak up.

"Who would have thought that my parent will pick this place over Eastfox which is way peaceful just so I can train to become a true banshee".

"it is very important you learn to control your power else you are going to end up endangering the life of others and for your information, the world is not at peace be it Eastfox or Warlington, there are always creatures hiding and being noticed by another creature puts your life at risk" advice Mr. McCray.

After listening to Mr. McCray's word, Lydia suddenly turn around and begin to head toward the entrance out of the tower but before she could walk out though, Abel called on her.

"Is everything okay?" asked Abel.

"yeah I'm fine, I just want to go home and process all that has happened today so I will be taking my leave" reply Lydia before leaving.

"I think walking her home just to be safe" said Abel to Mr. McCray before excusing himself out of the tower.

The moment Abel is out of the tower, Mr. McCray got up and went to his bar stand where he pure himself some wine.

"I wonder who is behind this" he said after drinking a mouthful of wine before going back to sit down while going through who it might be that is responsible for the death of the student.

Meanwhile, outside in the wood, Lydia could be seen walking with her head lower when she felt like she is been watched and decided to stop in her track and take a look at her environment and it was after she was certain that she is not been followed that she continues to walk but then again she begins to have the feeling of been watched again and was just about to yell but that was when she heard her name been called.

"Hey wait up Lydia" yell Abel after meeting up with her.

And just like that, the feeling of being watched was gone.

"It's gone" she muttered.

"what's gone" ask Abel who heard her say the word.

"A moment ago, I felt like I was been watched by someone" replied Lydia.

Hearing her say that she was been watched, Abel decided to take a look around the place if he could see anyone around the wood but there was no one.

"Are you sure that you are been watched" asked Abel with a frown?

"yes or do you think that I am lying" said Lydia.

"that's not what I'm trying to say here, is just that I can't hear any heartbeat here apart from yours" reply Abel as he tried to explain things to her.

"It must have run when you called my name" said Lydia after realizing that Abel was a vampire.

'Good thing that I decided to walk her home' thought Abel.

"I think we should get out of here. You know what they say, it is not always safe in the wood" joke Abel.

"yeah, standing here is already giving me the craps" replies Lydia before they begin to walk out.

After some time, they were able to leave the wood and Abel decided to walk her home and to his surprise, she was living close to Perry.

"Thanks for walking me home" said Lydia with a warm smile on her face.

"Anytime, so I will be seeing you in school tomorrow then" replied Abel.

"tomorrow is actually weekend so I don't think we would be seeing" chuckled Lydia.

"Oh I forgot about that, see you on Monday then" said Abel in embarrassment.

He turn away to take his leave but before he could take a step forward, Lydia suddenly called him.

"what is it" said Abel with a smile.

"do you think the school would be under attack again" ask Lydia after a little hesitation?

"Abel went quiet for some time before speaking up.

"I'm not sure but I think if something like this should happen again, we'll be there to stop it".

"you think so" asked  Lydia.

"I believe that you would be able to predict if someone is getting into trouble if it were to happen again" replied Abel.

"Thanks a lot Abel, I promise to do my best this time around" said Lydia as her mood lighten up.

"You're welcome, now I need to go home before my mother begins to get worried" replied Abel.

"Okay, good night" said Lydia as she bid him farewell before opening the door.
