For most of the time, Asahi had been randomly freezing people nearby. (Not literally freezing, they don't become cubes of ice but you get the point.) But what he did not realize, was that this wasn't his own doing. And today was when he figured it out.
It looks like some sort of trinket. I don't know what it is, but its something. It looks like something from that one blocky game where everything is just squares. No not that "Rocraft" online platform game.
Anyways, it seems that when I hold it in my hand everyone around me freezes. I showed it to my family but they don't believe me, they think I'm just putting something in to their food. Something feels weird though, because it feels like even when everyone is frozen or time is stopped, whatever you want to call it, it feels like I'm being watched, like I'm not alone. I might see a moving shadow at the corner of my eye here and there or I hear a footstep and I question if its real or if I'm imagining it.
The next day I was walking home from school and I see a guy in a alley calling me to come to him. I couldn't see much about him because he was in a dark corner, and normally I would not listen to strangers like this but since I felt practically invincible anyway I decided to go to him. In my head I'm thinking "What's the worst that can happen."
The man steps out of the shadows slightly to talk to me better. He looks like a knight, he even has a helmet on. But something is off about his helmet. Its not like the average helmet you would see in a movie or show. It has a small band at the top that's going up in the wind even though its not windy. And the weird part is that its on fire. Only the top part though, its not burning at all.
"Hey, old friend. Sorry but, I have had enough of this one." He brings out a huge sword that was on his back, and I somehow didn't notice it. I reach for the trinket, and I'm holding it in my hand. He stops. I feel relieved.
"Just kidding, you have to die. Sorry." He says that and he charges up to me. And with his massive sword he stabs me. And as I lay here bleeding out on the floor. My life flashes before me. And I barely hear him saying: "See you next time around."
