Chapter 12 - Chapter 2. The hunter and The Detective

"Ihasa, you said you have a feeling that this isnt a suicide right? What makes you feel that?" Said unimportant guy A.

"First of all, the autopsy report doesn't match up, which is a big red flag. Second, if it was a faked suicide, the person faking it would have had to be very, very good at what he does. The cameras dont show any evidence, so they might as well have been looped. Whatever it was this man was working on, it seemd to be important, but after taking a look at the cube he valued so much, it didn't seem to do anything too special." Ihasa had just dumped out this information, leaving others fairly impressed.

"If it didn't seem to do much, maybe it wasn't a finished project? I'm not a scientist or anything like that, but im pretty sure that a product has to bed complete to work as intended. Taking away any piece of a computer will render it unable to work as intended. Maybe he hadnt finished a way to activate the cube." Said another side character.

"Maybe, but thats just it. There was a way to activate it. And all it did was made a party popper sound and played some music. So much for a big project. Whatever, we will have our puzzle experts and other people try and figure out if it has some secret function." Ihasa noted this, and everyone knew he was probably on to something, and they continued looking for clues.

While Ihasa was on his break, he went and bought some ice cream, and saw a interesting looking man. Someone he had seen before, Etts Benet, a bank owner. In fact, the bank owner of the bank he keeps his money at.

"Hello Mr. Benet, how are you today?" Ihasa politely asked.

"I'm doing well, not much is going on. How about you? How is police work going for you?" Etts replied.

Etts and Ihasa knew eachother to an extent. They hadn't exchanged phone numbers or anything, but they were relatively friendly.

"Good, good. We have a case right now, im on break at the moment though. I can't give too many details, but a guy commited suicide. Allthough i have a gut feeling thats not what happened. Not all the evidence matches up. Enough of my problems, hows it going at the bank?"

"Like I said, not that much interesting has been going on of late. Though, i will say some suspicious people, real weirdos, have been coming in of late." Etts worryingly said.

"Really? That is strange. Well, i hope it resolves. I have to get going now. Bye." Ihasa and Etts said bye to eachother, as Ihasa left.

Ihasa was thinking, and in his thoughts he remarked Etts' strange behavior. He thought it might just be stress related or worry, but he wasn't entirely convinced. But he decided to forget about it and put this thought at the back of his head.

And then, he had another thought. He has been hearing rumors of this bounty hunter going around, someone whos services are very expensive. Up untill now, he had always thought it was a rumor. But now? He was slightly unsure.

"This case isn't over untill we can say for sure that we know what happened here" Ihasa declared to himself.

He went back to the police department to see if there was any evidence or anything of interest.

They hadn't found anything important, except for on the body. There seemed to be a extremely tiny hole on the neck of the body. This could have been a coincidence, or anything really, but what it looked like was a injection spot. It could have been a vaccine, but thats highly unlikely. Anybodys guess could have been right, however it was starting to look like someone had faked the suicide.

"Ihasa, its an early day today. Go home, get some rest as tommorow its gonna be a long day. We need to figure out what really happened here.

And so Ihasa went home, as it was an early day. This department that Ihasa lived in was different from the average police department, in that they have early days so that people can rest more, and the day after they will have a longer than average, sometimes not even going home before after midnight.

Ihasa arrived home, and since it was still 6:00 PM, he decided to have some dinner, a bowl of chips and some cola alongside his favorite tv show, Heavens Kitchen.

Ihasa would go to bed very early on these early days, usually at 8:00 PM. And the same happened today, he went to bed early, and he fell asleep fairly fast as well.

8 HOURS LATER

It's 3:00 AM. A late hour, and the perfect hour for a man to be killed. Thats what someone thinks atleast. And that someone is going to hire a certain someone (for simplicity, we will call him "bh" (bounty hunter)), that we know as bh.

"I want Etts Benet dead." The man says, in a calm voice.

BH writes on paper to give him an answer.

"Got it. That will be 20000$, he has hired me before so the cost doubles. If you pay an extra 5000$, I can do a special request. This includes faking the scene to frame someone else, making it look like an illness (ex. heart attack) or making it look like suicide."

"Alright, i want to frame someone. I want to frame a guy called Ihasa Kent-"

Before he could even finish saying that name the bounty hunter had shot him with a shotgun. Not any shotgun either, his personal shotgun. But something was peculiar. His corpse was making a sizzling sound. Suddenly, his body started flaming. A few minutes later, all that was left was some ashes.
