Chapter 27 - 27. A session with Dee...

He saw her driving in with the trucks of different fabric companies. He loved seeing her scurry around like a mice running to catch up with time. She had gone and come back three times before closing hour, which means she just had one more fabric company to visit. But she didn't make it in time, and by the time she got to the last company, they said they were closed for the day, so she had to come back the next day for it.

For not meeting up with the time, he made her go through another collection of clothes he made.

He got home that day, and he just still couldn't get his mind of that. When she had entered his office, there were bruises on both her arms. One arm looked like someone gripped her tightly, and the other was just a slight scratch.

But why in the world was that picture not getting out of his head. What was his business if she got bruises or not. All he had to focus on was making her life miserable for this one month she'd be with him, and then get rid of her from his life forever.

His eyes were heavy, he shut them close, resting his back on the chair. But then...

"F*ck, why is this stupid picture still glued to my head. Why. Why.

I think Marcel is right., a session with Dee is way overdue.

In a simple sized office, perfectly arranged., a man who was probably just above sixty, dressed in a Doctor's gown was going over some files.

"Doctor Dee, you have a visitor. The nurse says sticking her head into his office.

" who is it? The man hadn't said the words complete when Damon walked in dazzling as usual. The man's eyes widened, he even removes the eye glasses he was wearing as if it was previously hindering his vision. He looked on incredulously like an alien just walked into his office.

"Hey old man. Damon says walking in, and the nurse closes the door behind him.

"I know I'm getting old, but I don't think I'm so old to be having hallucinations. Who is this fella that walked into my office this early in the morning? The man says, standing up from his position behind the desk.

" You miss me that much? Damon smiles, walking over to the man and enveloping him in a hug. Wow, so he smiles for someone apart from Marcel.

" My boy. It's been so long. Did Marcel make you come? The man knew too well that Damon never came to him unless Marcel coerced him to.

" No, well he did tell me to come, but I did come by my own will. I missed this old face of yours. He says breaking the hug to look at the man's face. Wow Dee, you've really gotten old. Look at all these wrinkles. He pointed at the man's face.

" just give it a few years, and you'd be worse than me. The man takes a seat, and signals Damon to do the same.

"Nah, definitely not. I'm never getting wrinkles. This dazzling face is forever.

"Everything fades Damon., even good looks. You should have seen me back in the days, all the girls were after this face. There was literally a girl fainting in a corner every time I passed by.

" Stop., stop... I don't want to hear about your younger self. I'm way more good looking full stop.

" Jealous Man. Dee mutters. So to what do I owe this honor.? I know you would not just come to me because you miss me. That's the most plain lie ever. And since you came here without Marcel, it must be something serious, what is it? The man really knew him well.

At his question, the Smile on Damon's face abruptly vanishes.

"it's that serious huh. Dee states as he sees the change of expressions.

" So let me get this right, the girl who hurt you back then, and caused your gynophobia has suddenly turned up in front of you after so many years. Damon nods in agreement.

"tell me something Damon, how did you feel when you finally set your eyes on her after these many years. I mean, I know she hurt you and betrayed you, but at some point in your life, according to you, she meant the world to you. She was once someone that made you happy., so how did you feel seeing her again.?

"I hmm_ I felt so much anger in me Dee, I was so angry, and I felt so much hate in me. But I hate to admit it, I was so scared in front of her. So scared that my phobia acted up for the first time in about a year. And she wasn't even near me. She was like way over the other side of the room, but yet, I still got terrified just looking at her.

"was that all you felt, are you sure? Some part of you, even though it was just a tiny bit didn't feel happy seeing her again?

" NO!!! he roared. All I feel for her right now is hate and anger. I see her everyday, and I want to make her suffer ten times what she made me go through.

" if that's the case, then why keep her close? You said she's your assistant right, why did you give her the job?

" I just told you Dee, I want to make her suffer, I want to see her beg under my feet, I want to see her crying and crumbling in front of me. I just want to see her completely wrecked. But I can't watch her suffer because of this stupid phobia. How can I even make her pay fully for what she did to me if I can't stand in a room with her and not lose my breath. I just give her instructions through the phone, and try as much as possible not to face her.

"Well if that's the case, I think you're doing it all wrong. I mean instead of running from her., why not face her and fight it. Try exceeding the limit of time you can hold on for around her.

" you don't get it Dee, just looking at her makes me feel like I'm looking at a pile of dirt. She disgusts me and it becomes really hard to breathe when she's there. He explains, and it was almost like she was standing right here, and it really disgusted him.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. What if a step to overcoming your gynophobia is by getting closer to her.

" we've tried that before, and it didn't work remember?

"But we didn't try it with the person who caused the sickness in the first place. Now, I'm not saying you should be nice to her or anything. I'm just saying from now on, instead of talking to her through the phone, talk to her face to face. Still keep your distance from her, but always deal with her face to face.

"dealing with her face to face is all good with me., I mean it means I'll be able to make her suffer even more, and I'll get to watch her in pains too, but I don't think I can risk it. I really can't stand the sight of her. She just makes me sick.

" just start now, give it a try, who knows, your body might start to adapt to the fact that she's there and won't need to set up any defenses. Slowly, you might even get rid of your phobia for good. It's like a person who usually eats morning, afternoon and night. But one day he stops eating in the morning, at first his body reacts to the sudden change., but as time goes on, as days goes by, the body starts to get used to the fact that from now on there's no food in the morning. It adapts to its new situation, and soon the body no longer reacts to no food in the morning anymore. It had become something normal.

"so you're saying my body could adapt to the fact that I see her every time, and get used to that fact, and then I won't have trouble breathing when she's there.

"its just a theory, but yes.
