Jerry was waiting to pick her up after working hours were over. Well more like escort her home. Because they were both still going to take a taxi.
But he had to wait two extra hours after the normal closing time before he finally saw her walking out of the building almost like a living corpse. She looked so exhausted.
"What kind of company works its newly hired employee till late after working hours on their very first day?
" the kind run by Damon King. She muttered.
"What did you say?
" I said I'm really tired. Let's get going already. She lied.
"come on let's go I'll flag a taxi. He says collecting her bag from her. In a minute, a taxi was right in front of them.
She was at this same spot this afternoon also trying to get a taxi, and it wasn't this easy. She couldn't help but wonder if the world was really punishing her.
Almost as soon as she sat down in the taxi, she fell asleep on his shoulder.
"Am I really that bad., I'm I really no more than trash?? She mumbled in her sleep, but it was clear enough for Jerry to hear. He couldn't resist the urge to touch her wary face. She looked really worked out. He moved some strands of hair from her face. There was even a teardrop.
"What in the world did they make you do? He muttered to himself before placing a kiss on her head.
Well the one who had answers to that question was non other than Damon King himself.
As soon as he got home, he went to his mini-bar, and took out a bottle of whiskey and a glass.
"should I have made her go through the whole collections I ever designed?? He wondered. The punishment he would have given her would have been massive if only he got to J&S before her, but for some useless reason, he didn't make it on time. Useless reasons like Marcel who held him up telling him things that he already knew, and things he wanted him to help him with.
And then a stupid taxi broke down right in the middle of the road, causing a minor traffic. And as if that was not enough, he got to J&S and right outside the building was a guy looking like a clown. He was wearing a helmet.
"Excuse me, but are you Damon King? The helmet guy had asked him.
" Can I help you with something? He asked but the guy just removes his helmet in a hurry and starts hugging him. At first Damon who was already being labeled as gay, was worried of what people would say if they saw him hugging a fellow guy right in front of no other place but the famous J&S. You never know when one of those reporters would pop out. He pushed the man away from his body
"Excuse me man, what the hell are you doing.
" I'm a big fan of yours., see I don't were anything except for things made by you, see? The guy said pointing at his clothes.
" I even sleep in your clothes. I can't picture myself wearing anything that isn't Damon made. I really love your work sir., can you sign an autograph...
" Well if you're a fan, you should have said so, normal people talk first. Why would you hug me here.? He was really puzzled.
" I'm really sorry, but I couldn't help it. You know how others go crazy over a musician or actor that they love, you are my idol, and I'm your number one fan... He just kept on ranting, not letting Damon pass through.
Eventually Damon signed an autograph before he could pass. So she escaped that one., but he successfully got back to the office before her, and it gave him so much joy. Not long after he got to the office, he stood by his enormous window, and saw her coming in on a bike. She came down and well she could still smile. That means she wasn't worked out enough. He should probably double his efforts to make her suffer. She wouldn't be smiling when he's done with her. He was going to wipe the Smile away from her life completely. There was no laughing in hell.
But then something caught his attention, it was the rider. He was the crazy clown that was in front of J&S. Then it suddenly dawned on him.
Did they probably plan it together. Was the clown being his fan all a setup to just stall. Just as he'd expected, she still hasn't changed. She was still scheming and scheming. But he wondered if this clown knew what she was actually capable of., if he knew she was pure evil.
He downed the alcohol in the glass at once, and poured himself another.
She was still the same. He told Ben to tell her to go through their last winter designs, and that she was not supposed to leave until she went through every single design made. He then left his office, but didn't go home. He stayed, hanging around the building to see the time she finally left, but then he saw her with a different guy when she closed. They got into a taxi together. They looked really close., too close.
Could he be her boyfriend., was she two-timing this dude and that clown. He found himself wondering.
But why did he care., what was his business if she was two-timing of four-timing. Why was he angered even more when he saw her smile at them.
It was probably because he had been in their position before, and he was just feeling pity for them because they had no idea who she was. He also had no idea the kind of evil she was then. He was just lost in her beauty, lost in those eyes. They'd not changed, they were as blue as ever. He hated to admit it, but those eyes haven't lost their charm.
But now he wasn't the stupid boy who loved those eyes, now all he saw in those beautiful eyes were a liar, a cheater, a disgusting woman. Nothing more.
"but things haven't really changed., you still have guys hovering around you"
