When I opened my eyes, I noticed I was in my room. I was tucked in my bed like a burrito.
I was sweating profusely making my hair plastered to my forehead. My head hurt so bad and I felt a burning sensation in my chest.
I struggled to get out of the bed and almost jumped when I felt the cold floor coming in contact with my bare feet.
I got up and almost fell to the floor as I was very dizzy at the moment.
"Kalin!" I heard a faint voice yell.
Where was it coming from?
All of a sudden, I felt a gush of air and I was gently placed back into my bed. My eyes widened in shock. It was a little male fairy that had long blonde hair and blue eyes.
"My name is Philly Tempest, and I am a fairy. I was sent to you as an envoy from the God of Light when you first arrived in this world, however, I decided to wait until you were alone to talk to you which is why you did not see me at dinner. Plus, people who process mana can see me, so after a week I am finally able to meet you!" Philly said cheerfully.
"Hold up...a week?" I questioned with a blank expression. What did he mean?
Philly looked at me blankly and then he suddenly understood. "Oh! I forgot to tell you! It has been a week since the dinner incident. For the past week, you have been bedridden in your bedroom!"
"A week?!?" I asked with huge eyes.
"Yes."
"Did you say something about being an envoy from the God of Light?"
"Yes, so you see The Goddess of Reincarnation is a minor god, and the God of Light is a major god. All minor gods work under a major god. There are only 6 major gods who rule the Heavens. They are the God of Fire, the God of Light, the God of Darkness, the God of Earth, the Goddess of Water, and the Goddess of Air. They existed since the beginning of time and are immortal, however, the minor gods are not immortal. There was only one of each major god but there were many of the same minor gods meaning that there could be 100 different minor gods with the power of reincarnation. This was the second time the goddess of reincarnation made a mistake so the God of Light took away her reincarnation license again. When she made the first mistake, The God of Light told her that if a second mistake were to occur, he would fire her. So when she made the second mistake, he fired her. He then offered the job to another reincarnation god and said that the Goddess of Reincarnation needed to compensate you. But she was very mad so she did not want to gift you anything! Thus the God of Light sent me, Philly, as an envoy to help you out!" Philly brightly exclaimed.
I sighed.
"Help me out how?"
Philly smiled at me and flew onto my finger. "Silly, since I am an envoy from the God of Light, I have the light power. I will grant you the power of light instead of just healing you because unfortunately, I do not have the compacity to expend so much mana in healing you as it seems quite serious."
I nodded my head in understanding. "So you are saying that since your small body can not handle so much mana to heal me, you will grant me the Light ability? Can I even heal myself?" I asked.
Philly nodded excitedly, "Yes!"
I frowned my head, "Really?"
Philly nodded his cute little head.
I frowned and scrunched my eyebrows.
"What is wrong, Kalin?" Philly asked with a concerned expression. He leaped off of my finger and flew towards my forehead and tried to soothe the creases between my eyebrows.
I chuckled at his cute antics and gently took him off my forehead and placed him on my pale palm.
"Philly, don't worry, I was just thinking about the plot of the otome game. Since the heroine had the light ability that means she was capable of healing herself. However, in the bad ending, why did she die? She could have healed herself, that is such a big plot hole."
"Hmm...you are right Kalin," Philly said after considering it.
I shook my head and then said, "How long will it take for me to be cured of my illness?"
"5 years."
"So that means when I am 16 years old?"
"Yes, however, I must tell you that even though you are using light magic to heal you, you will still cough up blood at random times. But don't be concerned! This is simply the impurities being expelled from your body. When you were in a coma for a week, I overheard the imperial doctor talking with your father and mother that you were terribly poisoned and would soon die, so I decided to do a quick body scan on you and sure enough, you were poisoned by a deadly substance. It is a slow-acting poison and not easy to identify. The scan showed me that the original host had been poisoned since the young age of 5. The poison is called Moonlight Wulf Rain and it is only poisonous if consumed. This means that the original host's food has been continuously poisoned."
(A/N: I made the poison up lol)
"That makes sense," I said.
"However, you can only use the God of Light abilities once a week either to heal yourself or to heal someone else. There is a limitation only for 3 years so when you turn 14 years old, there would be no limits. This is because even though your body can handle such mana, your body is still very small although it is much bigger than mine. At 14, your body will grow bigger and thus you will be able to control the mana better."
"Okay," I said.
Then Philly floated his tiny body in front of me. His body started to glow yellow and I heard him chanting in a foreign and weird language. Was he in the process of granting me the God of Light powers? I wondered.
After a few seconds, I felt a warm light encase me. I closed my eyes and I bathed in the warm light for a few more minutes and then the glowing light ceased.
I opened my eyes and Philly smiled at me.
"I granted you the light abilities. After one is granted power, they will feel an increase of mana and feel stronger than what they were before. Try healing yourself now." He explained.
I nodded and tried to feel the light mana inside of my body. Finally, I was able to utilize it and encased my entire body in heavenly light. Instantly, I felt better than before. Like I was stronger.
"Thank you so much, Philly, I feel so much better now."
Philly just nodded happily at my praise.
A sudden thought occurred to me.
"Philly, if you are an envoy of the God of Light, then how were you able to use air magic when you lifted me back into my bed?" I questioned.
Philly smiled at me. "Oh! That is because I was originally an air fairy made by the Goddess of Air, however, the Goddess of Air owed the God of Light a favor, and the God of Light requested me to become his envoy. To become God's envoy, they need to be granted God's power. So, I have two powers which are air and light!"
"That's amazing, so it is possible to have dual attributes?"
Philly looked at me like I was dumb. "Of course! You have dual attributes as well! Don't you remember? You have ice magic from the royal family and you have light power from me granting you the light ability. Most magic is inherited from one's family, however, sometimes it is not. There are certain cases where the Gods will grant their power to the one that they deem is fit to use it. That is why nobility has more magic power than the commoners. Even though the heroine has light powers, it is not because he granted her his powers. When the god of light met me, he said something about her being a two-faced green tea bitch, whatever that means. The heroine is a commoner however, her birth father is a count and this has never been revealed in the otome game."
I was shocked by the new piece of information. The heroine was not a commoner but instead the illegitimate daughter of the count's family?
Was she the illegitimate daughter of the boy who the original Kalin beat up?
I nodded my head and then said, "How does Kalin have ice magic, I thought the royal family has water magic?"
"You are correct Kalin. The royal does indeed have water magic, however, there are different branches of magic. Water magic can become ice magic and fire magic can become lightning magic, it all depends on the user, and if they have a strong potential to do so. The original Kalin had ice power, but he sadly could not use it as it took too much of a tole on his weak body."
I nodded my head and then I got up from my bed. Since I healed myself, I was able to easily get out of bed this time. I made my way to the full-length mirror located in the center of my grand room.
I let out a tiny gasp when I saw my reflection.
Although I had just healed myself, it seemed like I was a corpse!
I head dark eyes bags and sickly pale skin. My arms seemed skinnier than what I remembered since the time I ate dinner with the 2 princes and the king. My cheeks were hollow and I looked extremely malnourished.
Even though I looked very sick, I still looked very cute.
Yes, you heard me cute.
Even though I was not a narcissistic person in my previous life, I might just become one. I had light blue hair and light blue eyes that sparkled like gems. My hair was parted to the side and I looked like a frail beauty and it would make anyone want to pamper me.
I laughed evilly. I could just live a lazy lifestyle and let my family dote on me! Yes! The only real goal I have is to survive my upcoming death at 14 years old anyway!
"K-Kalin?" Philly asked nervously. "Are you okay?"
My sudden laughter cleared. "Ah, yes, sorry." My eyes dimmed as I soon realized that I may not be able to live lazily because of the upcoming Demon War! Plus, I still needed to help the heroine capture the demon prince's heart so that she does not die, or else an innocent victim, the villainess will be killed!
Nooooooo!
Philly flew over to me, his copper colored wings beating fast.
Then I asked him, "I thought I healed myself, why do I look so sickly?"
"It is just an illusion."
"An illusion?"
"Yes, since someone is plotting against Kalin and poisoned him since he was 5 years old, wouldn't it be weird if somehow Kalin got better?"
"You are so smart Philly!" I exclaimed and I gently grabbed him and placed him on my palm.
He smiled at me.
"So you mean to say that you want to draw whoever poisoned Kalin out right Philly?"
"Yes!"
"Hey, Philly. When I usually read reincarnation mangas/novels don't the person who gets reincarnation received the original host memories?"
Philly looked at me suspiciously. "Y-yes?"
I smiled at him.
"Then Philly, may I receive the memories of the old host?"
