Chapter 8 - The Reincarnated "Heroine"

"I heard you were ill, so I came to visit you. My name is Lia Lovegood-Sutton, nice to meet you!" She said with a huge smile.

Lia reached out to shake hands and I complied.

"Let's sit, shall we?" Lia asked.

"Sure."

We both took our seats. I sat directly across from her. Lia and I both looked at the table which was filled with various sweets and a pitcher of iced lemonade.

"Wow! This is the first time I'm seeing such delicious sweets since I reincarnated here!" Lia exclaimed.

"Wait, what did you just say?" I asked in astonishment.

"Oh fuck. Fuckity fuck fuck. I fucked up big time. Me and my big mouth." She said as she grinned sheepishly.

After a moment of silence, it seemed as if she made a decision. Lia looked at me with determined eyes.

"Well, I guess the cat is out of the bag now." Lia said with a sigh. "Let me get straight to the point. I was reincarnated as the heroine of an otome game I played in my previous life." Lia informed me as she eagerly waited for a reaction from me.

"Really?! I'm reincarnated too!" I exclaimed, getting out of my seat to hold her hands.

'I wasn't alone anymore!'

"Omg! Thank god!" Lia squealed as she came forward to hug me and we started jumping up and down. If anyone saw us, they will probably think we were possessed by a demon and try to exorcise us. It was a good thing my palace was practically deserted.

After we calmed down we took a seat again and began to try all the desserts.

"This tastes so good!" Lia exclaimed as she practically shoved with entire strawberry cake slice down her throat.

I didn't care that much because I was doing the same. Who the hell cares about etiquette! We were the only two around anyways.

After eating all 30 desserts together we finally poured ourselves a glass of lemonade.

We both took a sip and sigh as we felt contempt. We both rubbed our huge bellies full of desserts.

"Did you meet the Goddess of Reincarnation?" I inquired.

"Yup, she told me my death was an accident and she told me to pick a world I wanted to be reincarnated in so I chose this world."

"Why would you chose this world!?"

"Well, to be honest, I actually chose the future of this world." Lia said.

"Future of this World?" I questioned.

Lia nodded and took another sip of her lemonade before placing the glass on the table.

"Yes. To explain, I played the first otome game, "Love in the Midst of Chaos: Lunar Crest Academy," which was told from the heroine's point of view. I don't know if you are aware, but there is a sequel which took place after the Demon War, which is titled, "Blinded by Love, Yours Truly is Love Sick" The sequel was told by the capture target's perspectives."

"Oh wow! I had no clue there was a sequel!"

Lia continued, "I was so pissed off by that fake bird brain evil heroine!!! In the sequel the fucking heroine turned all evil and after killing the Demon king, she ate him! She literally ate him! Dick and all!" She yelled with wide eyes.

"I bet the game developers were high or something when they put that scene in." I inputted.

"I know right! And guess what happened after that! She fucking ate the Demon Prince Kairos after that!"

I gasped.

"No, she did not!"

Lia sighed dramatically. "Damn right she did!"

"The audacity of this bitch! In the good ending, didn't Kairos betray his father for her!" I said with wide eyes.

I couldn't comprehend what Lia was saying anymore.

"Hold on. So you're telling me that in the sequel, the heroine goes all crazy and eats the Demon King and Demon Prince like she was eating a cheeseburger."

She nodded. "Yup, I can't believe I wasted my precious 5 dollars for that crap. She ate them to gain their dark powers. The game developers turned the sequel into a zombie apocalypse. Right after eating those two, the heroine turned others into zombies. The capture targets banded together to defeat her and to exorcise the newly turned zombies."

My head was spinning.

"How did we go from Academy romance to a Holy War with the demons and then to a zombie apocalypse! What were the game developers on! But wait! Why on earth did you want to reincarnate in the sequel instead of the first game then?" I pondered.

"Great question Kalin! That's because I wanted to kill the fucking heroine with my own hands! How dare she eat the Demon Prince Kairos when he was the most sexiest man?! Plus she had a hand in killing my love, the Villainess!!!" She said with a righteous look in her eyes.

"But...aren't you the heroine?!?"

"Yup, unfortunately. I literally cried when I found out. I thought I was gonna reincarnate as an extra but who thought I was gonna reincarnate as the heroine?! But all hope is not lost! At least my love is still alive! I'm going to pursue the villainess. She was just a lonely and misunderstood girl!"

"Oh, are you...?"

"Yes, I'm a lesbian!" Lia exclaimed happily.

"Cool! I'm gay by the way." I replied.

"I know."

"How did you know?" I asked.

Lia just chuckled.

"I just know." She said mysteriously.

"But I heard from the Goddess of Reincarnated that you wanted a harem of 300 women?" Lia asked me.

I sighed.

"That's absolutely correct. But after I was transmigrated, I began to think. In my previous life I was never really attracted to women. I always found myself more attracted to men. I just told the Goddess of Reincarnation that I wanted a large harem primarily because that's what the typical hero gets when they get teleported into a fantasy world." I said as I took a sip of my lemonade.

"So basically you were in denial before?" She bluntly stated, making me spit out a mouthful of lemonade.

I stated at her with wide eyes.

Before I could respond, she continued speaking as if nothing happened.

"Anyways! Since the original heroine is gone and I replaced her, I guess the sequel won't occur because all I want to do is pursue my love."

"Maybe." I responded.

Lia eyes widened in shock.

"Do you think she was somehow reborn?!"

"Oh fuck Lia, don't jinx us!" I cried.

Realization appeared on Lia's face.

"Oh fuck!" Lia banged her head in the table, causing the plates to lift in the air few centimeters.

Lia suddenly put her head up.

"Oh yeah! By the way, I have the answer to your death flag! The tutor and that girl Claire are working together to poison you." Lia said casually as if she was just discussing the weather.

"I know." I replied.

"Oh by the way how did you end up in the past if you wanted to be reincarnated in the sequel?" I inquired curiously.

"It's a long story. To summarize, after meeting with the Goddess of Reincarnation, I met with the God of Light." Lia said.

"What happened?" I asked her.

"The God of Light told me that the original heroine of the game was actually his granddaughter. As you already know, magical power is either blessed by a god or goddess or inherited through bloodlines. The original heroine was not blessed by the God of light but instead inherited her light abilities from him."

"Aha! That's why there was such a big plot hole in the bad ending!" I exclaimed.

Seeing her confused state, I explained, "In the bad ending, the heroine was killed even though she was capable of healing herself. It turns out that the God of Light killed her!" I said excitedly.

Lia nodded her head in agreement.

"Correct. The God of Light realized her true intentions of destroying the world and killed her."

After our conversation came to an end, I saw Lia scrunch up her eyebrows.

"Is that your maid?" Lia asked as she pointed behind me.

I turned around.

A middle aged maid was running towards our direction. Her neat bun began to unravel because of how fast she ran.

'Wasn't she the maid who informed me of Lia's arrival this morning?'

"Your highness! The King summoned you for lunch at the Diamond Palace!" She yelled frantically as she sucked in air, her cheeks a bright red from the extreme exercise.

"Ah! Okay!" I replied.

I turned back towards Lia and we both got up from our seats.

"Well it's been a pleasure meeting you Lady Lia." I said.

"Likewise Prince Kalin."

After Lia left, I turned back to the maid.

"What's your name?"

"Verna, my name is Verna, Your Highness." Venna replied respectfully as she bowed.

"Okay, I will be sure to remember it. Verna, how long will it take for us to get to the Diamond Palace?"

From the memories I gained from the original, I learned that the 3 Palaces were about 2 hours apart from each other if one were to walk.

This means the Diamond Palace were the King and Queen live is 4 hours away while the Gold Palace where Leon and Liam live is 2 hours away from the Silver Palace where I reside.

I am assuming we will be using the portals located near the gated entrance, but I was not so sure.

"A few seconds at most, we will be using the portals near the entrance." Verna responded.

I nodded, showing that I understood.

"May I ask you a few questions first?"

"Of course!"

"Now then, is the lunch really important? Must I attend?" I asked.

Verna nodded frantically.

"Absolutely! Everyday Your highness would have dinner with his Majesty the King and the Queen along with Prince Liam and Prince Leon at the Diamond Palace were the King and Queen lives. Only Crown Prince Leon and second Prince Liam have the privilege to eat lunch with King and Queen. Everyone eats breakfast alone."

'Hmmm...it must be something really important to have summoned me for lunch, I wondered what it could be?'

"Is that so...How many people live in the Silver Palace?"

"4 including Your Highness." The maid informed me.

"4?"

The maid nodded.

"When Your Highness was 5 years old, all the servants complained to the King and Queen that you were hard to deal with and unruly. As a result they were transferred to the Gold Palace and Silver Palace, leaving you with no servants to take care of you. A week later when the Royal Tutor found you passed out due to hunger, the King was informed and he assigned you 3 new servants. After seeing how misunderstood and kind you were, all 3 of us pledged our loyalty to you."

'Hmmm...I recalled familiar memories about this issue. The tutor was the one to inform the King about the dire situation in the Silver Palace. This happened when Kalin was 5 years old, which happens to be the same time the Tutor began to poison Kalin due to Claire's urging.'

I was thrown out of my thoughts when I noticed we reached the portal.

"This is as far as I can go Your Highness."

"Thank you for accompanying me here Verna." I said.

She bowed and left me. I walked in the portal and I was teleported to the Diamond Palace.

I was surprised to find I teleported directly into my seat.

Noting the indifferent expressions on my families faces, this must be normal.

'Is the portal programmed to know where the user wants to go specifically?'

I looked around the table.

The Queen sat on one end of the table while the King sat in the other.

Liam and Leon were sitting next to each other while I saw sitting across from them.

I was startled to find Leon glaring at me intently.

'What the heck? What does this little shit want?'

Ignoring Prince Leon's glare, I began to eat my food.

My food was some overcooked steak with mashed potatoes. I cut the steak with some difficulty and was slightly embarrassed at how weak my body was. Like seriously? I couldn't believe that I was so weak that I couldn't even cut steak.

I took a bite of the steak and almost vomited at how disgusted and greasy it tasted.

I forced it down with some water. I decided not to eat the steak and inside eat the mash potatoes.

After eating some bites of mashed potatoes, I glanced back towards Liam's direction and I saw Liam asking something to Leon. Leon frowned but in the end he nodded.

Liam smiled at Leon and then swiftly turned towards me.

'Oh, was Liam asking Leon permission to talk to me?' I wondered.

"I heard from mother that you were poisoned. Mother told me there was no cure. Are you feeling well brother?" Liam asked with concern.

"Yes, I am feeling much better." I replied to Liam, surprised that he actually spoke to me.

Someone scoffed. It was Leon.

"You call that fine?! You are practically skin and bones! Your scrawny and frail body disgusts me!" Leon spat out and motioned for a nearby maid to come closer.

"Inform the Chef to make my younger brother some porridge. He shouldn't be eating greasy food if he is ill or else he might get even sicker. I won't give the nobles a chance to spread new rumors on how we mistreat the 3rd prince."

I was speechless.

'It could be right? Was Leon simply a misunderstood tsundere? The game developers must have a thing for Tsunderes because so far Leon was the second Tsundere I encountered. The first being James, the counts son that I saw from the hosts memories. I was suddenly enlightened. Leon was a tsundere and Liam simply followed Leon around like a lost puppy. Then this must mean that Kalin's older brothers don't in fact hate him but actually care about him? I felt sad that the original Kalin was no longer here.'

Soon, my porridge arrived and after finishing it, I heard someone clear their throat. I looked up to see that it was the King.

"A message just arrive from the Demon King. He inquired if his son can spend a few years in the human realm, which means that his son will live in the palace and attend the Academy as an exchange student." The King said, looking towards the Queen to continue.

"We decided to change the ages required for the Academy. Instead of having to be 14 years old to enter, we lowered it to 11 So instead of ages 14 to 20 it is now ages 11 to 20." The Queen said.

'What the fuck?! This didn't happen in the original otome game! In the otome game, it was supposed to begin during the heroine's first year at the Academy, when she turned 14 years old. Now that the age requirement to attend the Academy has lowered, will this affect the plot? After all, Kalin never attended the Academy because he was already dead right after his 14th birthday due to a mysterious incurable illness. No what, fuck the goddamn plot! It's already changed so much since Lia and I have been reincarnated.'

"However, we must keep the Demon Prince identity a secret. Only those in this room knows his real identity. As a result, I will take the Demon Prince in as an Illegitimate son. The Demon Prince shall live in the Gold Palace with Liam and Leon."

I looked at the King in disbelief. I felt a sharp pain in my chest along with feelings of sadness and I realized this was the feelings of the original host.

'How lonely the originally Kalin must have been. It's no wonder I felt the lingering sadness from the original when the King mentioned the Demon Prince being able to live in the Gold Palace.'

'The Gold Palace was a palace built for the legitimate princess and princess to reside in while the Silver palace was built for the illegitimate princes and princess.'

'Although unflavored by the King, Kalin was still the legitimate 3 prince of the Kingdom however he was still thrown away to the Silver Palace when he was 5 years old.'

'Now the Demon Prince will live in the Gold Palace and the original host had lingering feelings of sadness because he felt as if the Demon Prince was taking his rightful place.'

'Furthermore, how cold hearted and stupid could the King be to announce the presence of an illegitimate son and then have that son live in the Gold Palace while the true born son rots away in Silver Palace? Wouldn't that be mocking him right to his face? Also, wouldn't that send a message to others that Kalin is no better than a illegitimate son?'

I clenched my first under the table in anger.

"Father! I found out that Kalin and Demon Prince Kairos are trending!" An annoying voice interrupted.

I looked towards the source.

Of course, it's fucking Liam.

The King's eyebrow went up.

"Oh?" The King said with interest.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Leon pinching Liam's arm harshly.

"Owww!"

'Heh, that's what he gets.' I thought.

'Also, me and the demon prince are trending?! What?!'

Despite Leon's pinching, Liam continued his story.

"Yeah! The media are saying that the Indifferent and Cold hearted Demon Prince and the loser prince Kalin followed each other on social media!"

'I winced. Loser prince? That kinda hurt.'

'Wait, What?! When did I follow him?!?!'

My eyes widened. 'Did I accidentally follow Kairos when I was looking at his profile?! The embarrassment!'

"Is this true Kalin?" The King asked.

I nodded.

The King then broke out into a wide smile.

I almost had a heart attack. The King was smiling...at me!!!!

"It seems like you are not entirely worthless. It seems like you have some value, very unexpected. Since you are well aquatinted with the demon prince, I grant you the right to move back to the Gold Palace."
