Miko saw a shadow loom over her, raising her head to see a big, burly man. He was filthy and unshaven, his clothes tattered and full of dirt and scratches. His brown boots had black smears all over it, and his hedious eyes glared down at the petite girl below him.
"Interesting..." He smirked, not taking his eyes off her. Miko gulped. She had not expected to be seen by a regular human, on top of that, a beggar! She quickly waved him away, not wanting to confront the situation as since her powers have greatly dwindled, she needed to save the remaining to keep up her human disguise. She turned to leave, before the man grabbed her arm and pulled her close to him.
"You know, I have your little secret now. You are not human. Humans can't create coins. You have a few options. 1, teach me what you did, 2, pay me that cash since you can make more or 3, pay me in other ways instead..." He breathed onto Miko, his face just inches away from hers. Dammit. She thought no one was around.
Miko cringed as he spat the words out, saliva spewing onto her lips. His breath also stank, so much it was impossible to be nice about it.
Miko rolled her eyes. Did he just want to learn what she did, even though he just contradicted himself by saying it was impossible? Humans are really weird these days. She could never teach him this, since no one, not even beasts, could create gold or anything out of thin air. In addition, he didn't even possess a constituition that allowed him to cultivate or cast illusions. He probably mistook the situation as well, since Miko clearly did not create the coins out of thin air. The man furrowed his eyebrows. Did she just roll her eyes at him? He gripped her arm tighter, unwilling to let go now he was enraged.
"Hurry. Choose or I'll choose for you." He demanded. Miko, unwilling to use anymore of her powers as she might be revealed in this foreign land, simply shook her hand free. He wants to learn it? In his dreams! He didn't even have a cultivation base or constitution that allowed him, a human, to cultivate at the very least! With her hand now free, Miko gave him a big, tight slap, enough for him to back off in shock.
"How dare you hit me! Bitch!" He hurled himself onto her, preparing to knock her to the ground. Where he planned to make two of the choices he gave her for her. He could imagine the feel of her under him. So smooth, and- Splat! He raised his face from the rough floor, now bleeding due to the scratches. While he was daydreaming about her while lunging at her, Miko used the chance to simply step to her left and dodged him. She simply tilted her body left while keeping her footing, giving her a graceful and elegant look, like that of a fairy.
The man turned back to look at her. He picked himself up and lunged towards her again. How dare she make him look like a fool! When he got her pinned down, he was going to have fun with her and then take those silvers. As he was so poor now, he barely had enough money for his cigarettes, alcohol and pleasure palaces. He was going to treat himself to all that today, thanks to this woman right here.
Miko clicked her tongue in annoyance. This man was a foolish drunkard. She now understood why some beasts had a more distinct hatred for humans. They were so consumed with vice and greed and forgot to even think. The man aimed for her face, swinging his arm onto her face. Miko dodged under it as she blocked the second arm trying to knock her over from her side. The man threw a punch to her face to which she leaned back, skillfully avoiding it before she caught a hand trying to grab at her chest. It was just inches away from her. She smirked as she twisted the arm and threw him to the floor. He grunted when he hit the floor, smacking his head on the wall in the process, before falling to the floor. Miko used her foot to kick him gently a few times, making sure he was fully out. She had heard of this causing amnesia before from other books she read, and thus left him there, while she truged away with all her coins intact.
Miko arrived at a small restaurant, where she used a small portion of her coins to exchange for a meal. She ate her meal contently, eating a little faster as she wanted to cultivate a little before the sun fully went down. She managed to get around fifteen minutes of cultivation before it started getting dark. Miko headed to Tashi's friend's place, focusing on what he said that morning. It wasn't very long before she arrived at its doorstep. She knocked on the door a few times, each gentle tap sounding a gentle knock. Before long, a young man opened the door. He had dirty blonde hair and angular turquiose eyes, reflecting light off the street lamps. His lips curled into a smile as he asked, " How may I help you miss?"
