~(Y/n) POV~
While encased in Shū's embrace, I still hear Ezra continuing to fight with Natsuo. "What the h*ll, man?! That's your mate for crying out loud! You don't get to talk to her like that! You shouldn't for Pete's sake! God d*mn it, what's gotten into you?! Huh?! Natsuo! Talk to me, d*mn it! Natsuo!", Ezra shouts, while my so-called 'mate' continues walking; unbothered. I hear running, stones crunching against the ground and then a fist impacting on flesh. I look to see Natsuo's head knocked to the side, a bruise forming on his jaw, that's healing, and Ezra breathing heavily.
Ezra grits out, "Answer. The. D*mn. Question." Natsuo straightens himself, spitting out some blood from his busted lower lip, which immediately repairs itself. He stares Ezra straight into his eyes, answering flatly, "Nothing is wrong with me, Aoi. I'm just stating facts." Ezra yells, "Those aren't facts! They're just you being an a**!", but Natsuo continues unfazed. "I never wanted a mate to begin with. Mates are just baggage that slow you down and make you weak. They are useless to me. I don't want a mate and I certainly don't need one either. It's as simple as that. Besides, why do you care? She's my mate, a mate I happen to not want.
If you already care so much for her, then just make her yours. Then she'll be fine, am I right?" Ezra growls. Natsuo continues, "Whatever you do, it really doesn't concern me. And I don't care either way. Make her yours for all I care. This is just a waste of my time, anyways." Ezra grabs Natsuo's shirt, growling; visibly shaking in anger, "Shut. Up. Mates aren't as useless as you think they are. Neither are they weak or a waste of time, Kobayashi.", Ezra hisses. He continues, " They are your other half, the better you. They bring out the best in you. You can't just throw them aside, she-" "I just did. So make her yours if you feel so bad for her.", Natsuo interrupts.
Through gritted teeth, Ezra grits out, "You. Can't. Just. Give. Your. Mate. To. Someone. Else...And I don't want her! She is not my mate! (Y/n) is yours! Grow up already!" Natsuo, himself growls, spitting out, "And. I. Don't. Want. Her. She can go die in a ditch for all I f*cking care!" That statement causes a red hot anger to begin to bubble over in me, 'That little sh*t!' Apparently I'm not the only one that is furious at Natsuo, Shū is growling and Ezra has again fisted Natsuo.
Shū says sadly to me but an undertone of anger can be detected, though the anger is not directed to me, "I'm so sorry, Little One. I know it probably hurt to hear Natsuo, your lousy mate, say all that...so let me take you home." He begins to lead me in the direction of the cabin, how? I don't know but I shake my head "no" and break out of his hold, racing towards Ezra and Natsuo's brawl. My anger guiding me. Shū yells out behind me telling me to stop but I ignore him. Pulling Ezra aside, I notice his shocked face but I do what I came here for. I land my own punch to Natsuo's face, causing his face to whip to the side. There is a complete silence after that, save for my panting and my own heartbeat that seems deafening to me.
Natsuo slowly turns his head to glare at me and growls, "The f*ck, you d*mn human?!" I glare back my own (e/c) eyes violently clashing with his violet ones. Cracking my neck, I speak, " Listen here, you narcissistic dramatic piece of sh*t. To me, supernaturals don't exist. That means you don't exist. Heck! I never thought I'd meet supernaturals! All of it changed when I saved your sorry a**! Just because life's been a b*tch to me and threw me one heck of a curve ball, you don't see me saying that someone can go and die! If you think you have it hard, grow a pair and open your God d*mn eyes! Idiot. Never did I think I would have a mate and such a lousy piece of cr*p too."
He growls at me but I roll my eyes. Crouching down infront of him, I grab his hand. The tingles on our connected hands, are at the back of my mind. He looks puzzled at me, but that look quickly changes to pain as I twist his arm behind his back. He growls at me to let go, instead I twist it further making him shut up. Ezra and Shū look worried towards me, but I brush them off focusing on Natsuo. "I respected you so I expect the same in return. Another thing I would like to mention, is just because I've never expected a mate, you don't see me complaining and whining about how life is so cruel to me, do you? No, the rest of us take it in our stride and live with it. Only children constantly whine. It's annoying so grow up and move on already, you annoying brat." I spit harshly before letting go of his hand and standing up. Walking around him, I head in the direction of the cabin, most definitely leaving a fuming Natsuo behind me.
When I don't hear anyone following, I turn back. I motion for Ezra and Shū to follow, though they do so keeping some distance between us. I smile. Focusing back on Natsuo, he stays on the ground, fuming and glaring in my direction. My smile morphs into a scowl while I glare at him as well, "Get up. You're slowing us down. My parents are probably freaking out where the both of us are." He stays unmoving.
My glare intensifies, "Get up. Or else I'll break your arm into pieces and hurt your pride in one go. Don't test me Natsuo.", I hiss. At my threat, he slowly stands, albeit grumbling under his breath. Natsuo begins to approach me, rolling his eyes at my threat I presume, "Listen. Please keep talking to a minimum. Your voice is annoying and it grates on my ear nerves." 'So that's the reason he got up? Hah! He probably just doesn't want to have his arm broken. Idiot.' I turn around to continue walking down the path I marked.
It's all silent save for the crunching of the gravel path and the dry leaves. A whistle sounds, before Ezra and Shū come up to walk beside me. Shū exclaims with child-like glee, "D*mn~ girl! You is feisty! I really don't want to get on your bad side. Yikes! I might lose more than my pride.", Shū says mumbling the last part. I chuckle, "Don't diss me and you'll be fine." Shū nods so fast that I think my head would have popped off by now.
Shū then questions, "Hey, (Y/n)..." I hum in response. "Am I in your good books? Please, oh please tell me that I am!" I chuckle again, "Of course you are, Shū-san." Shū jumps in jubilation joining hands with Ezra and spinning around. A grin breaks out onto my face. Once Ezra is released, he turns to me as Shū goes to brag to Natsuo. "And me, (Y/n)?", he questions. I nod, "You are safe as well Ezra-san."
He chuckles before looking ahead of us, "I'm relieved. I'd hate to anger you." I laugh, "Yeah, me too." The both of us laugh. Shū soon joins us again, with a wide smile on his face. Looking back, I see a sulky Natsuo behind us. I let out an airy chuckle. I add after we calm down from the laughter, "You and Shū-san will always be in my good books. Him on the other hand," pointing my thumb at Natsuo over my shoulder, ", is not." Ezra smiles, "You know, you can forget the honorifics. The three of us don't bother with them. They're too much time and energy." Nodding, I answer, "Good to know."
"I'd like to know though, why did Natsuo save me before?", I ask. Ezra and Shū shrug both saying simultaneously, "Who knows why that idiot does what he does." I snicker. Pretty soon, the devil himself speaks, "I didn't save you. I helped my friends. You just happened to benefit from it." I roll my eyes, 'So dramatic.' Shū chips in, "Well our friendship also gives me the right to kick your behind. So don't push your luck with (Y/n), yes?" Ezra nods while Natsuo grumbles out "Fine." I mutter, "Geez, he acts like a moody old woman." Shū and Ezra burst out laughing while Natsuo growls. 'D*rn their supernatural hearing!'
