Author's Note: I am pretty sure that you can guess by the name of this chapter so, we will be starting off with the point of view of the man nicknamed the Champion of Space. Hope you enjoy!
********************
I am a human.
Humans are regarded as one of the weakest races as they do not possess any racial skills and are about average in both magical and physical prowess. We don't have exceptional physical strength like the dwarves or the beastmen. We don't have the magical powers of the elves or the fairies. We don't have the supernatural and diverse racial abilities of the different kinds of demons.
And yet, we are still alive.
That is because, there are some humans who are born with exceptional powers that stand head and shoulders above the rest. Those special people were able to rival the other races in the field they excel at.
They were extraordinary people who everyone looked up to. They kept the peace and helped everyone. They boosted the morale of the soldiers who would fight with them. Even though they are not as strong as the Heroes, they were just as amazing.
Those group of people were called Champions by the regular people. Each Champion are distinguished from each other through their titles. These titles are decided using the attribute, the ability, or a nickname. As for me, I am the Champion of Space because of my ability.
And, right now, the Champion of Space is listening to his dear friend.
"Please, I am begging you, find Alyssia!"
Alyssia is the name of my friend's wife. According to him, she has been missing for an entire week already. She went missing when she went on an errand. Naturally, there were guards with her but, the guards were never found either.
It seems to me that she was kidnapped by thieves to be used as ransom or something similar. Well, no matter what happened, I am still going to find her and bring her back to my friend. It is one of the things I can do to repay the both of them for always being there for me when I was younger.
"I will make sure that I will find her."
"Thank you so much! You are always helping me yet, I never help you in return."
"That is alright. I need to do at least this much, right?"
I was about to use my ability to leave but then I see my friend's young daughter. She is only 6 years old, if my memory serves me correctly. She looks exactly like her mother, except for the color of her hair and eyes. I know that it is a lie, though.
"Mister Gulavy, please find my mommy."
She doesn't seem to remember my name. That's alright, as I still remember hers.
"Don't worry, Ray. Mister Gulavy will find your mommy as soon as I can. You just need to wait her with your daddy, alright?"
"Okay."
I will reunite you with your family. I won't let the things I experienced happen to anyone else. I look at my friend and waved my hand.
"See you later."
"Bye."
I turn around and activate my ability. I take a few steps until I am at the place where Alyssia went missing at the opposite side of this city. Let's see how long you will be able to hide from me, thieves.

(Switches to Alex)
The bandits really got us.
They took control of the carriage and tied us up with ropes so that we can't escape. They put us inside of the carriage and drove it until we reached their (I'm only assuming) hideout. Judging by how much we had to walk even while we already arrived and by the shape of the entrance my tendrils felt, it seems like their hideout is a giant cave network. They also stuffed me in a chamber separate from the guards.
That is pretty inconvenient for me.
I might have been able to escape from my restraints and escape but, I don't know where the guards were taken. There will also be a big chance for me to encounter a bandit if I get lost and they will call for help.
They have me cornered.
...
Just kidding of course.
I can cut these ropes if I make my tendril tangible and sharp. Plus, if we are in a cave system, then it would be dark. The darkness is where I am the most powerful as I will have a huge supply of tendrils ready from any corner of the tunnels.
Though, I doubt I will be able to take on more than 3 grown men at a time. I might have been trained really well but, I am still technically only a 7 year old kid. So, I will just avoid all of the thieves by sensing where they might be and hide in the shadows if they get too close. That's what I will do.
*Groan*
Hmm?
There is someone else in here!?
I didn't even notice that because I was just planning on how to make my escape. But, these guys actually have another person locked up aside from us. I wonder what happened to that person.
Then that makes it easier for me to show no mercy to another person. I might have been hesitating earlier as I should be saving as many lives as possible but, I should be allowed to at least knock them out.
Hey, wait a minute.
...
Oh my Death God.
Why do I always forget that I have a Divine Beast?! I can just let Calido help us, right? I will just have him serve as a distraction. Creeping around will take some time as I can't make tendrils while I am hiding in a shadow. He will distract one thief and make him call the others so that all of them will be at one spot.
Oh wait.
He is extremely weakened right now. So, maybe he won't be able to deal with all of them physically. That's alright though. He can just leave them with severe burns instead. Alright, time to put my plan into motion.
(Calido, can you hear me?)
(Yes.)
(I need you to go inside of the cave system I was taken into and distract every thief so that I can break everyone out. You can leave them with some burns if you can't beat all of them physically.)
(Understood.)
Now, I just need to wait for the screams to echo. Yes, burn them all and all of their sins so that they can reincarnate as a decent person in their next life.
HAHAHA!
Wait, burn? Fire? What did Luke say about how fire burns again? That it takes in oxygen... to burn...
Oxygen...
Cave system...
Oh, damn.
(Change of plans! You can't burn them!)
(Then, what do I do?)
(Just find my cell first and we can break out together! Two people, I mean one person and a Divine Beast, are better than one!)
(Okay...)
- TEN MINUTES LATER -
"So, Calido, did you encounter any thieves while you were trying to get here?"
(No, I have not.)
I see.
So, they are just in other chambers then. Probably celebrating the fact that they had captured us and everything we had with us.
"AHH!!!-"
I turn my head behind me instantly after I heard that scream. That was probably one of the thieves as that didn't sound like the voice of one of the guards. But, why are they screaming? There isn't anything else instead of us.
Wait, there is someone walking here. I feel something walking towards this chamber. It feels like a... person. They aren't running or making any sounds. Only walking.
!?
The person just appeared right in front of the jailed door of this chamber!? How did they do that?! Some kind of ability!?
"Looks like I found you, Alyssia."
That was when I met the one who saved us from our captors, the one they call a Champion, Glaive Kaneduro.
