I was pulled all the way to the forest for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes finished, Miria slowed down and eventually stopped.
"Umm... Alex? I think we are lost now."
Wait a minute.
It took some time before my tired brain caught up with what she said. When it did, I became a bit mad.
"What? If you didn't know the way, why did you not stop to ask me!?"
"Sorry! It is just, sometimes I forget things."
Oh well.
Hey, aren't those trees familiar. I look closer at some of the trees near us. Yes! There are X's on them! That means, if we follow them, either we end up outside of the forest, or we reach the clearing with my base!
"It is okay. I just found an important landmark that will help us find our way back."
"Really! Wow, you are just as smart as I thought you would be. So, what is the thing we will follow?"
"We will follow the X signs on these trees. Since I didn't want to get lost when I go to my base, I made some knights make these signs so that we can find it."
"Wow. Okay, then, what are we waiting for! Let's go already!"
Miria then grabbed my hand and pulled me again while checking for the X's. She is doing the same thing again. Isn't she more childish than me? Or, maybe, she is just excited for this request. In actuality, she might be a serious person. Or so I theorize.
She pulled me along for 3 minutes until we reach a familiar clearing. Familiar to me, anyway. I look at the ground. I breathe out in relief. There is my secret base lying there, just like how I left it yesterday.
"Is this the place where you base is located?"
"Yes, it is."
"This is a very nice place you picked for your base then."
"Thank you."
So far, so good.
It looks like she generally favors me. I just need her to like me enough to become friends, then, mission accomplished. Plus, she should be good with the sword. She might be able to help me get better at using a sword.
"So, what should I do, now that we are here? In your request, it didn't mention anything about what I am supposed to actually do. The only thing it said was to help you."
Oh yeah.
I forgot to write down the part which specifically states what they would do to help me. It looks like I was so focused on one part that I actually forgot about the other. Note to self: don't overthink things too much.
"The only thing that you need to do is to create tables and boxes with your sword. After that, you use Wind magic to bring my base onto that tree. Lastly, I will need some kind of way to actually get up there. So, we will try to make a ladder together. That is all. After that, you can get your 20 Gold coins."
"Alright! That is a lot of work. Plus, I need to carve out a tables and boxes. Oh well. Let's get to work."
After saying that, Miria walks over to a tree and cuts it down with 1 swing.
What?
When Corvin, Max, and Jaysen cut down a tree, it took them a few minutes to do it. And Miria just cut one down with one swing of her sword. Even though she looks like that, does she actually have a lot of strength?
"How did you do that?"
"Huh? Oh, I just channeled some of my Wind magic into my sword and created a cutter made out of wind magic. However, I am not very precise with it. That is why, for the precision-cutting, I will be using my ability."
Oh.
So, she just used Wind magic?
But, she said that she is going to use her ability to do the precision-cutting. Is her ability related to swords or cutting?
While thinking that, Miria made a series a fast slashes. After a few seconds, the wood became somewhat box-shaped.
"The hard part starts now."
45 minutes later-
"What the heck!?"
You may be wondering, why am I screaming? Well, the reason is perfectly legitimate. I am screaming because Miria was able to make several tables and boxes that look amazing in just 45 minutes.
"How did you do that!? Also, didn't you say that you used your ability to help you?! I didn't even see you use it!?"
"Well, I used my ability to do all of this fast. My ability lets me vibrate things I touch at a speed that most people can't see. I vibrated my sword to make all of these cuts perfectly. I even made my own sword technique with it. I call it the Vibration's Edge!"
Wow!
Her ability might seem a bit useless, but she was able to use it perfectly.
"Why don't you use Aura Blade instead?"
"I can't use it because my arms aren't very strong. Even after exercising them, they can't compete with someone who also trained a lot. That is why, I researched a way to fight my own way. I found out that a vibrating sword does more damage, cuts cleaner, and makes it easier to use for me because if it vibrates, it makes cutting easier. Meaning, I don't need to put as much power as a regular person."
So, she wanted to be original and created a new sword technique that perfectly fits her?
"Oh yeah! I just need to get your base, with the furniture inside, to the top of that tree, right?Then, I need to make a way for you to get up there."
"Yes."
"Ok."
She walked to my base and started chanting a spell.
"I summon a platform made of air, Air Force!"
After that, my base started floating and landed on the tree with a thud. She then performed Air Force on the furniture and, like my base, started floating and entered the inside of my base.
"Now for the last part!"
She then took out a glowing, purple stone.
"Alex, do you know what this is?"
"No."
I actually don't know what that is.
"This stone is actually very rare. It is called an Enchanter. It lets me bestow an attribute onto an object. That is not all! The attribute I bestowed can be activated by words. So, what words will be your activation command?"
Hmm.
It should be hard so that if a random person finds this place, they won't be able to get in.
"Zeta."
"Excuse me?"
"The command should be the word 'Zeta'."
"O-ok. I don't know what it means though."
My name in my previous life. Of course, I don't think people of this time will know it because I hardly did anything to make me famous. I feel both happy and sad at that part.
"Alright then. Enchant: Wind attribute. Command: When Target Gets Stepped On, Activate Air Force If Person Answers 'Zeta'. Now, it should be done. All you have to do is step on this piece of wood and say the command word and you will be able to get inside."
"Thank you for all of your help, Miria."
"You are welcome. Now that I am done, we should hold a few sessions for training together."
"Both of us?"
"Yes. I think you are getting training from your dad already, so I will be teaching you about monster behavior. Is that alright?"
Monster behavior?
That will be useful. I will need to kill the ones created by The Scourge and maybe kill other ones so that I can go somewhere. I should accept this offer. Plus, Miria will be protecting me so it is okay.
"Alright. I formally accept this offer."
"Yes. And I formally thank you for accepting my offer."
Alright.
Looks like these next several days will be very informative and fun.
