Chapter 14: John
It was New Year's Eve and John took Kate out to dinner, to the movies, then back home. They were still living in Mississippi and John's Aunt and Uncle were still angry with him. Rose and John's dad were the only family members going to the wedding. Alex had been to visit Kate, but John didn't trust him. "Kate, I know Alex is your friend, but I don't trust him," John stated. "John, I don't believe that Alex will cause us any problems and he told me that he is happy for us," Kate replied. "I hope you are right Kate, just be careful. I don't trust him, and I don't trust Jill." John said. "I will be careful," Kate agreed. John went to talk to Sara after he finished talking to Kate. "Sara, can I talk to you?" John asked. "What can I help you with?" Sara asked. "Is Alex really happy for Kate and me?" John questioned. "Yes, I think he is happy, he didn't seem angry any more. If he is, he is putting on a good act. If you are worried about Alex doing something, I will talk to him. I will also look out for Kate," Sara replied."Thank you, Sara. I hope I am wrong about Alex, but something is telling me that Alex is up to something," John confided. "Don't worry John, Kate loves you, so Alex doesn't have a chance. I will keep an eye on Alex," Sara reassured John. John felt a little better that Sara was going to help him. He thought about talking to Alex and to try to stay on his good side. John also thought about talking to Charles to ask if Alex was planning to cause problems.
John called Charles, but he could not get a hold of him. He called Rose and asked her she knew where Charles was. Rose replied that she didn't. John wasn't worried that he didn't know where Charles was, but he really wanted to talk to him. John looked forward to marrying Kate, so maybe James, Alex, and Jill would stop causing problems. He called Kate. "How are you doing Kate?" John asked. "I am doing good. How are you doing John?" Kate responded. I am doing good and I miss you," John replied. "I miss you too," Kate said.
James:
James went to look for Jill. "Have you thought of a plan to break up John and Kate?" James asked. "No, but I think Alex has a plan of his own." Jill replied. "I thought Alex was happy for John and Kate," James asked. "Well, you thought wrong. I heard Charles talking to Alex about making plans to break up Kate and John," Jill replied. "Do you know what they are planning?" James asked. "No, all I heard is Alex talking about breaking them up," Jill replied.
Jill:
Jill wanted to come up with a plan fast because Kate and John were getting married in a month and two weeks. Jill didn't know what to do so she hoped that Alex had a good plan. She was going to Mississippi and maybe she would come up with a plan then. Jill called James. "James, I think you should apologize to John and Kate and pretend to be happy for them," Jill recommended. "That's a good idea Jill, I will tell my parents I am not angry with John and Kate anymore," James replied. "I think we should go to Mississippi and I will try to get John in bed with me," Jill replied.
Alex:
Sara went to look for Alex. "Alex, we need to talk, Sara said. "What do you want?" Alex asked. "I know you are in love with Kate and I am sure you were heartbroken when you learn about her and John. I am asking you if you really love Kate, don't try to cause any problems for her and John," Sara replied. "I do care for Kate and her happiness is all that matters to me. I would never cause any problems for Kate," Alex replied. "I am glad to hear that," Sara replied. "Why are you asking me this? Let me guess John asked you to talk to me?" Alex asked. "No, he did not. I want to know for myself and make sure you were ok," Sara replied.
