Having no choice Brent urged Jessy, wanting to know where she had gone and what she was up to, "Jessy, can you tell me where have you gone and what you did to get so tired?"
Unable to believe what he was seeing, there was happiness on that smile that caused her face to light up when she replied.
"Oh, I have a small side-line job on a Saturday afternoon." Brent was shocked by what he heard.
Asking himself, 'What sort of job could she have that gives her such joy and happiness? Isn't poverty a curse so why does she make it sound more like a blessing? I know she doesn't have much money and seems to come from a poor family but this joy I see through those grape-shaped eyes makes her look as though nothing could shatter her confidence.' Liking it immediately especially the deep dark pool that glows in her eyes which exude a sense of safety.'
Although I have everything going for me, I still don't have that confidence, and most of the time I feel so unsettled. I have been searching for happiness and a life partner. for over two long years. I even met so many young ladies with high-profile jobs and hails from good family backgrounds, so why am I so dissatisfied, and why am I so attracted to Jessy?'
'There is something about her that draws my full attention and whenever I am around her I experience this joy in my heart that is unexplainable. From the moment we met, she was all alone, and away from her family. Yet she has such confidence and composure making one feel like nothing can move or change her mindset.'
'Now from what I have been observing, I know Jessy is a simple-minded person and she has a big heart. Getting to know her a little better must be my objective. Also, I must seek ways to assist her financially if that will help me get closer, "Jessy if you need more money you can tell me, I don't want you overworking yourself."
With her face furrowed up, a few lines show on her forehead, expressing her dissatisfaction and embarrassment. Brent notices an immense seriousness that appears instantly when she refutes him.
"Hello, I appreciate what you have done already, and what you are still doing for me. Before we met I already had this little work going for me. Do you expect me to dump it because you give me a job?"
"Sweetheart, I didn't mean that, I just don't want you overworking yourself, that is all, is that too much to ask."
Jessy could see he was displeased with her response, wanting desperately to soothe his heart, "Now, now, I don't want you to worry about these trivial matters. I have been surviving by doing my little bit here and there. You may not know this but it has people who depend on me."
"Jessy, they have to understand that you will be busy at times, and they have to get along without you."
Ignoring his remark Jessy held back from saying anything to him not wanting him to become agitated. 'Oh Lord, he may not understand this but working in your house gives me such joy and I appreciate all the small blessings just as much as the huge blessings, but he might not understand this feeling,'
Stroking his face Jessy said sweetly, "Come on don't be angry, it was a busy week so relax and let us not argue, we are now spending some alone time with each other and I don't want to quarrel. Now if you don't mind I will check to see if I have everything for your order."
Seeing her turn around to open the bags he turns her to face him, "Jessy !"
Before Brent could add another word to what he wanted to say Jessy said, "Sir, I heard you but try and understand from deep within your heart what I am saying, I like doing what I do, please allow me to live my life freely. I can only do it while I am young and unmarried because when I get married, I know things are going to change. Most men want you to give up the things you love, just to accommodate them. At first, they say not today honey I made plans already how about next week? And when next week comes, they say, oh honey I completely forgot and they do that until you no longer have a life of your own."
