Jessy wanted to get her point across clearly, "The truth is, that won't be happening shortly. Everything I love, I will accomplish it in this lifetime, I am going to enjoy doing it while I have the opportunity."
"Okay, if that is the case and your mentality, then I won't get married, so when I am home and my parents nagging me about grandchildren I will just stick cotton in my ears."
Stunned by what he said Jessy forgot herself for a moment lifting her voice slightly, "Hello, don't let my philosophy be yours?"
Brent's heart aches, "Why not if you don't want to marry me, what do you expect me to do?"
"Marry you?"
Brent wasn't ready to quit that easily, "Yes, Jessy, I am serious, I want you to marry me?" 'Oh Lord this is the second time I am proposing to the same person and she seems to take my proposal so lightly.'
Shocked by his words and stubbornness, Jessy felt his forehead wondering if he was sick " Sir are you all right, or did someone hit you behind your head? Sir, the truth is, I am not worthy of you."
Jessy immediately notices how angry he becomes, afraid he might leave she hurriedly says, "Oh never mind there's no use discussing this any further. Now if you have some time to spare help me pack these items away. And I need you to go and buy me a tank of gas if you want those stuff you ordered."
Observing the way he closed his eyes, Jessy realized he was dissatisfied with her answer, "Aye, there's no need for all this tension, we are friends so relax and tell me, have you eaten?"
Wanting so much to kiss him but he was angry and didn't want to add fuel to the direction he was thinking.
Hearing how he so wants to please his parents by giving them grandchildren. Jessy didn't want to be a tool to fulfill his parent's satisfaction. I cannot make the same mistake twice?'
Feeling his touch Jessy looks up seeing his concern, "Yes Sir, is something the matter?"
"You asked me if I have eaten." Noticing he had calmed down slightly.
Jessy nodded, "Well the truth is I haven't eaten since lunchtime."
"Okay!" Jessy kissed his cheeks and stood up, Saying as she walked towards the refrigerator, "The least I can do is feed you to show my thanks."
Opening the refrigerator taking out two containers placing one in the microwave, "Here these items are going into that cupboard." Then she walks out of the kitchen
Brent thought she was angry with him, "Aye, where are you going now?"
"Will you just relax" she calls out right before she goes into the bedroom to take a bath.
Watching her go Brent checks the time on his Rolex gold band watch. Observing it was already seven-thirty.
He considers what she asks him to do. 'If I pack away the groceries it will become too late for her to fix a meal.'
Brent hurriedly took the gas tank and placed it on his shoulders. Knowing it will take him just five minutes to go and buy the gas by the variety store.
He had just locked the gate and taken two footsteps when he noticed the said panel van that was parked on his property a month ago. "Who are these people" Using the gas tank as a shield to block his face, he avoids any confrontation.
Unable to see the driver Brent was glad he didn't drive his car, 'They know my car, and the maintenance man told me he found a tracker, so they are searching for my car. Now this is good my car is secure in the garage and these goons won't realize I would be walking on the street. They won't even expect to see me in casual clothes.'
Reaching the variety store Brent bought the gas and a few snacks and headed back not even bothering with whoever those men were.
Jessy had just changed into a house dress and then returned to the kitchen.
Brent had replaced the gas tank and was storing away the groceries when Jessy entered the kitchen. He looks up noticing how refreshed she looks after taking a bath.
Just wanting to enjoy the time they share, he smiles at how simple she seems.
