In a daze Lystra reflected on the two years, she has been working at the Larson Group of Company, in this office as his secretary. I have climbed the ladder from being the receptionist to his secretary in no time. I wanted to be close to him and get his attention.
Lystra lingers as she thinks, 'I kept in close contact with his assistants to ensure he has no girlfriend or went on any serious dates. I know he has many female friends from what Roland said, but he is not that serious about anyone in particular, nor is he the party type.
Sometimes I think he considers this position as his life partner which is why he spends so many hours in this office.
For such a handsome guy and a young boss, he is just so perfect, If only he could see my beauty we would be perfect together.
He is not a playboy and he doesn't molest the young ladies on the staff. That is why I admire him so much, and I pray every day that he will see me from another light other than just his secretary. My desire and dreams are, that he would like to spend the rest of his life with me.'
When her desk phone rings, Lystra jumps jogging back to the present and breaking the trend of her thinking.
She hurriedly rushed out of his office and snapped the lock, unaware that the others at their desks were looking at her.
Picking up the phone from her desk, hearing Andy's voice, she realized she hadn't called the board members to change the time because she was reflecting on her past and her plans.
Immediately she informed Andy of the time the meeting was changed, only to hear he wouldn't be able to attend because of a family emergency.
Lifting her head to look at the others at their desk, thinking of going to inform them knowing they have to inform their superiors only to notice they quickly dip their head.
Becoming angry with them for their fastness. Her heart felt a heaviness suspecting they would gossip. When she thought about it, 'What will they gossip about, I haven't said anything to anyone nor had they seen anything.
Now instead of going to their desk to inform them of the change of time, she called them seeing the time was going quickly and the Managers might be heading out from their department very soon.
Feeling the sweat running down her back she rebukes herself for daydreaming and now giving those fools something to gabble about behind her back.
Lystra ignores the smug smile on their faces trying to convince herself they know nothing about her feelings for him because she never revealed her secret. I am convinced from their glaringness that they are all jealous and a set of losers.
About to get herself a cup of tea when Elliot hurriedly walks to her desk, "Miss John, where is the Boss?"
Lystra notices the concern on his face wanting to know if something is wrong.
