She looks at me with uncertainty, as far as I know we have walked up to 10 shops and I haven't heard a word from her mouth, well that's new, Is she bent out of space?
All of a sudden I feel rapid motion near my thighs, what the heck is happening to me?
Did my emotional state change due to her gaze? How could she do that enormous effect on me or did the atmosphere has changed, what's wrong with me I feel trembling motion all over my body.
"Your phone is ringing ren," she nodded.
Oh my phone, my phone, I put my hand in my pocket and tug out the phone, as I see it is from Yui.
"Aren't you gonna answer that," Juri turned her face towards me.
"Not really," I whispered.
"Why not?" she asks.
"I have no energy left to talk to Yui, I will call her after we eat something," I whispered in an annoyed voice.
We walk down for approximately 3 more shops as we see an opulent restaurant. It's called sky star, I let go of her hand and open the door for her, as we go in, it is around 5 in the early evening, I can see people are already drinking in the bar.
I glance around. Contemporary, ultra-modern and distinctive, the atmosphere is pleasing.
The interior is all crimson, with dark wood floors exceptional lighting and the pleasant music undoubtedly luxurious yet also welcoming.
Several waiters are wandering across with a warm smile on their face very determined to serve something, people sipping wine, drinking beer enjoying their time to the fullest.
The waiter comes barreling through a throng of people. "Good evening, table for two or you are expecting someone else?" The waiter dressed in black greets us. I feel as if I'm playing a lead role in a movie.
He glances briefly at me and then feasts his gaze towards Juri, "she's mine," I say out loud.
"I'm sorry sir," he looks at me puzzled.
Juri gazes at me because of the bullshit I have spoken, she tries to suppress her giggle but I can see her lips turning into a smile.
"I mean table for two," I add quickly.
He leads us to a table for two around the very corner of the restaurant, it's a window seat and the view is indeed astounding, as we sit.
The waiter mutters something out of my understanding.
Unlike me, Juri replied, what are they both talking about eh? More importantly what language they are speaking in?
The waiter left saying, "certainly madam."
Juri places her purse on the table. "Jeez, what were you talking about?"
"Oh that, nothing I told him to bring the drinks list and lunch menu," she sighs.
"Is that all?" I ask as I know they weren't just talking about the menu.
"Why are looking at me suspiciously, don't tell me you are thinking that I was flirting with him," she mutters and presses her lips into a scowl.
"Why would I think, I know your choice is not that bad," I whisper leaning back to the chair.
A great waiter who can speak several languages including English, all waiters are suave and deferential, why I'm being so jealous and pushy when it comes to Juri.
I feel like eaten up with anger ever since that waiter glanced at Juri I feel ineffable, I'm unfamiliar with this side of myself.
"Baby… ren, are you okay," she says.
I nodded, for some reason, out of nervousness, I couldn't even say the word 'yes'.
Did she accidentally brush my leg? I feel sensitive, my leg has gone numb, Juri is stroking her leg with gentle pressure over mine, it's so soothing.
There's no way in hell she accidentally did that, she's doing this on purpose, I can see a flirtatious smile on her face, I can't stop her as if it is inevitable or I don't want her to stop?
"Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition ren, I'm sure you understand," she said with a smile on her face.
The waiter returns with the food menu and the drinks list as he gave it to Juri and stands next to her as if he's her bodyguard.
"Thanks," Juri says.
"Certainly," his voice is almost inaudible.
He's playing better than me despite I'm the lead role in this movie.
Come on my flawless brain it's time to show some drastic moves, I'm done playing dumb now it's time to play alpha male.
"Would you like to order the drinks or I shall order it for you," I ask, raising my eyebrow at her expectantly.
"It's still early to drink, I don't know you choose," she says.
"A glass of Bombay Sapphire and Hendrik's," I said while crossing my arms.
"Duly noted," the waiter nods.
"Since it's still early for her drinking appetite, Apple Sangria Blanco for the lady," I said with a graceful voice.
"Something to eat, sir," he snaps.
"What's special, what would you suggest, should I order Italian, Spanish or Indian," I shrug, Juri is gazing at me with some sort of unfathomable emotion.
"Ummm, all food here is good sir but if you ask me I personally recommend the seafood," he spoke in a neutral tone.
"I would like some oysters then," I whisper.
"How would you like your oysters, raw…"
I cut him off. "I'd like them with lemon and black pepper granita and octopus & potato Galician salad."
"Most certainly, sir."
"Would you add grilled chicken and pork also, please," Juri whispers.
"Of course, madam."
"Can you make it quick, we don't have long," I murmur.
"We'll do as fast as we can, sir," the waiter replied.
"Gracias."
"De nada," he retreats with a smile on his face.
Juri gazes at me impassively. "What?" I ask.
"I'm surprised," she bites her lips.
Of that, I have no doubt because I'm surprised too.
"Of what."
"You know the fluency that you showed just now, it makes me wonder I was wrong about you," she murmurs.
"Nope you were right there, I am an introvert but it doesn't mean I don't know how to express myself easily and accurately."
I turn my face towards the window, I love places like this that bring peace of mind.
The music is of mid-nineties, not too loud, it's just inch-perfect. The lighting, the music all of it does gives the restaurant an opulent and romantic ambience, enough to make a good evening.
"Are you nervous ren," Juri asks politely.
"Yeah kind of, since I can't remember what a date feels like," she put her hand on mine and cresses it.
Her touch is soft, gentle and loving, it leaves me flushed.
