Chapter 3 - TOO MUCH EXCITEMENTS

Carramel's POV

The last bell of the day signals the end of school and I'm so happy to finally be done with classes. For some reason, today I've had the weird feeling of being watched when walking through the hallways. But of course, no one would pay enough attention to me, to stare at me that long. Perks of being a male omega in a school full of the physically blessed.

I leave my locker, closing the metal door before I start off down the hallway towards the exit. Stepping outside, I grip my backpack before heading off towards the coffee shop around the corner from here where I had promised to meet Taylor and his Knot.

I was slightly nervous at meeting someone new, but with how much Tay was gushing over him, I'm sure I'll be ok. I make my way down the street, before coming before the Cafe door, loving the strong smell of coffee and sweet pastries that entice me inside the shop.

Walking in, I head straight to the counter to order myself a blueberry muffin to nibble on for a bit. After I get my muffin, I turn to look around until I find Taylor's soft brown head leaning against a chair in the back corner alone.

I head to his table, plopping down across for him, leaving the empty side beside him open. There's two drinks of the table and it has me sweaty slightly with nerves.

"Hey, Tay." I greet slightly. The mild anxiety has my voice soft and timid. He smiles at me warmly. But all I see his slightly clouded eyes that shows how truly in awe he is of his lover.

"Hey, Carrs." He greets back. His eyes clear up a little bit as they focus on me.

"Where's your Knot?"

"In the bathroom. She looks so pretty but was so nervous about meeting my best friend, she had to go make sure she looks perfect." The voice of awe and reverence in his voice as me smiling. She sounds so sweet and soft and adoring of Enza already and it's only been a day.

"I'm sure she looks perfect." I admit softly, giggling at the blissed out expression on his face. Our conversation is interrupted at the clicking of heels on the floor. I glance up, but quickly do a double take at the beautiful creature that's now sliding into the seat beside Taylor shyly.

The girl across from me is so stunningly beautiful my mind is reeling. Her long soft body adorned with lovely curves, is dressed in a cropped soft pink hoodie, her long legs enclosed in sweat shorts to match. And though the heels that decorate her small cute feet should look out of place, they look so beautiful with the effortless outfit. And sure enough, her lips are dressed in lipgloss that I'm sure taste like strawberries just like Taylor described.

She shifts uncomfortably in her seat, letting me know I've been staring too long. A warm blush shoots up my neck and face and I advert my gaze.

"Sorry. I'm Carramel. I know Tay said you were pretty but wow." I was in awe, finally understanding the look I'd seen in Taylor's eyes all day. Her light blush suits her delicate features, her make up perfect and natural in the early afternoon light.

"It's ok, Carramel. My name is Enza. Nice to meet you." I shake the hand she offers and try to guess at her species, thinking it too rude to flat out ask. Though by her chuckle I guess she can guess my train of thought. "I'm a warlock, love. I'm apart of the Light Arts. I work closely with the Angels at times."

" Gosh you're just so perfect!" I squeal in excitement. "Taylor, you're so lucky!" I tell him though by the look in his face, I'm sure he already knows.

"Thank you, darling, but I am far from perfect. Though, Taylor has been so perfect to me since I've meet him." The dark blush that rushes to Taylor's cheeks had me laughing as he sputters and seems at a lost for words.

His reaction has both Enza and I giggling at his expression.

"Oh you should have seen how he was gushing about you at lunch!" I add on, wanting to tease him even more.

"Oh it was probably nothing compared to how he tackled me in Human History today." Our laughs only double when Taylor slams his hands down and stands up abruptly from his chair.

"I'm going to the bathroom! You too gossip like too old human ladies dammit." Our giggles follow him to the bathroom, his cheeks still aflame during his departure.

By the time he returns, I recognize that the two want to be alone now. After two years of waiting, both were looking forward to catching up to love lost. I excuse myself from the table, promising the both of them to catch up tomorrow, though neither of them spare a glance my way as I leave the table. My smile is plastered on my face, refusing to leave.

Before I leave the shop, I go to grab a water from the counter. Just as I step up to order my drink, I tumble right into a tall muscled chest that surprisingly has my heart thudding wildly. Eh, probably just the high social anxiety. I look up and step back ready to apologize but the words get stuck in my throat as I realize just who I bumped into.

Alpha James.

Holy fucking shit. Today is finally the day I'll die.

"S-sorry, Alpha J-James." I mutter. But I'm so scared of the natural authority emitting from his chest that the words are barely heard.

"Oh it's my fault." He assures but I'm not sure I believe him. Though I refuse to look the man in his eyes so what do I know. "Carramel, right?" He asks and the fact that he knows my face, much less my name has my head snapping up quickly.

"Yes." My answer is clipped and cautious as I answer him, sure it could only be a bad thing.

"Are you heading back towards the pack? I could walk you there, it'd be nice to have company." I inwardly panic, not wanted to be a stupid charity case and not wanting the Alpha to see me as the overly anxious wolf I am.

"No thank you." I softly decline. Trying to take a step towards the counter to get my water. But a quick side step from the dominant wolf has him effectively blocking my way.

"Is my company not enough for you?" He asks lightly. The question almost has me rolling my eyes as his obvious ignorance to the situation and my awkwardness but I let it slide for now.

"No but I'm not sure I need company, Alpha. I appreciate the offer though." And though my voice is soft, it's also firm in my answer. A hurt look crosses his face but before I can decider it or apologize, he has taken a step out the way and nodded his head to me in apology.

"I understand, Carramel. I apologize for the disturbance in your day." He allows me to step past him to finally step to the counter, relief washing over me in waves. Though I may be shy, I am no charity case. Besides he's only being nice because I'm one of the omegas of the pack.

"Thank you for the offer though, maybe one day I'll take you up on it." I concede, glancing over my shoulder slightly in tone to see a warm bright smile cross him features.

The sight makes me turn around almost completely to stare at the gorgeous sight. I detect a small twitch in his lips but I'm so out of it, that my brain doesn't even acknowledge it. The thing that breaks me from the spell is the barista behind the counter clearing her throat for my attention.

I turn around abruptly, pressing my hands and onto my cheeks in a vain attempt to cool them down.

"Uhh, hi yes, um can I please get one water please no ice please." I finally manage to get out my request but the whole ordeal as my back rigid, cheeks hot and hands fluttering about uncontrollably in anxiety.

After grabbing my water, I hightail it out of there without a backwards glance to anyone.

On my walk home my cheeks still refuse to cool, the new attention from my Alpha has me reeling in all types of ways. All I can think as I near the entrance to my pack, is it's been a long long day. Too much excitement not enough sleep.
