James' POV
Walking down the stairs, I keep Carramel's trembling hands in mine until we reach the bottom. I link with Rain and have her come over to the stairwell. Before she comes, I turn to a scared looking Carramel whose am eyes are darting every where and it breaks my heart to see her so afraid.
"Carramel." I say to get her attention but she doesn't respond, her eyes still busy as she looks around. I lift my hands had place them on her cheeks making her squeal and jump back from my touch in fear making my chest tighten in pain. "Bean, it's just me." I tell her softly, trying once more to raise my hand to touch her and at first I think she's going to flinch away but when her eyes find mine, she throws herself into my hold.
I catch myself before I stumble back, her head resting right beneath my chin to hold me close to her, her body shaking like a leaf much to my displeasure. It's then that Rain comes around the corner with a confused look on her face.
