Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: God's Judgement

After a night of long conversations and indescribable sports, Maya Hansen's opinion of Eric had changed dramatically.

She had thought that Eric was just as hungry for her body as Stark was, but to her surprise, Eric was hungry for her body as well as her brain ...

The Extremis virus, her masterpiece, is still in the development stage and has only been tested on plants, but after seeing the samples and data, Eric pointed out its shortcomings and made a number of suggestions to her.

Each of these suggestions hit the nail on the head, and Maya Hansen was so enlightened that she wanted to go back to the lab right away.

But Erik stopped her, made it clear that he wanted to hire her, and offered her a big gift, which changed her mind and made her decide to stay with this boss for the rest of her life.

On the first day of the twenty-first century, the two had breakfast and boarded Eric's private jet to fly to the Sahara Desert, where a cross-genre product launch was to take place.

Space-based weapons, on the first day of the twenty-first century, became a reality, no longer a dream.

The nature of space-based weapons defines their target audience, and the US government will never allow private ownership of such weapons. Therefore, those who came to the launch were all bigwigs from the military. The representative from the Air Force was still General Ross, who had been working with Eric for many years, and on such a grand occasion, General Ross definitely had to come to support the event.

"General Ross, long time no see!" Eric hugged General Ross, and did not leave the other bigwigs out.

Skye Industries was not only supplying the military with finished weapons and equipment such as the sonic series of weapons and the electromagnetic cannon series of weapons, but also with a large number of semi-finished products such as ark reactors, graphene batteries and normal temperature superconducting materials, so Eric had crossed paths with several generals in the military.

The crowd greeted each other one by one and bragged a bit about each other, with Maya Hansen with a sweet smile acting as a backdrop, making for a rather harmonious picture.

After the pleasantries, it was straight to business. We're all grown-ups, so what's the point of rambling? It's all about the business.

General Ross commanded his men to drive twenty cars around, in groups of two, on random routes, with their own targets, stopping whenever they wanted to, and then dropping one car and returning with all the soldiers in another. The cars left behind were the targets for this display.

Then it was time for Eric to perform. He presented a metal case the size of a briefcase, entered a password and verified his fingerprints, iris and voice print. After a series of operations, the metal case opened up and contained only a computer with a keyhole to the left and right of the computer keyboard.

Eric took out two keys from his pocket, one for General Ross and one in his own hand.

They both inserted the keys into the keyholes at the same time and turned them halfway around. The computer screen automatically lit up and after entering a long string of passwords again, the operating system was finally accessed.

Several of the military's bigwigs nodded secretly, only such a lavish and cumbersome security system could be worthy of such a weighty weapon ...

The operating system was simple and straightforward, enter the coordinates, fine tune it manually, wait for the satellite to be in position, and then confirm the launch.

A dazzling white light descended from the sky, as if a heavenly punishment had descended to pierce the earth, and landed straight on a car. Even with their sunglasses on, several bigwigs were still shaken by the dazzling white light and squinted their eyes.

Immediately after, in less than five seconds, another white light, hitting another car, then the next ...

Ten cars, ten targets, the whole attack took less than a minute.

Simple, fast, efficient and incredibly powerful.

Eric rushed to the target sites with a few of the big guys and looked at them one by one.

The effect was very good, from the scene from the traces, the range of the space-based weapon attack was exactly a circle of ten meters in diameter, and the ten cars, all of them, were in the middle of the circle.

The main part of the car had all been vaporised, leaving only a few remaining engine fragments, but they were all so melted that it was hard to tell what the hell it was.

Not only that, but within a ten metre radius of the attack, the ground caved in for several metres and all the sand was melted away, forming a glazed layer of material on the ground that one could even see their own reflection when they walked up to it.

"Good accuracy, but, isn't it a little less powerful?" General Ross and a few of the bigwigs had a whisper and posed the question to Eric. In their opinion, a space-based weapon of this magnitude had to be as powerful as a nuclear bomb, so this was a little too weak to hit a 10-metre square crater.

Erik rolled his eyes at this.

"Guys, the power I just fired was only tuned to one percent." Eric held out a finger and waved it in front of the crowd, "If you are not satisfied with the power, you can continue to adjust it upwards, moreover, not only the power, but also the attack range can be adjusted, from ten meters to a thousand meters in diameter, the smaller the range, the more concentrated the energy is, the more powerful it naturally is."

Several bigwigs nodded secretly, that was more or less the same, "What about the energy consumption?"

"The satellite collects the sun's energy through the energy harvesting device and stores it in the battery, the energy consumed by the ten rounds of attack just now will take almost a week to accumulate."

"A week? Isn't that a bit too long?" General Ross frowned at the sky.

"Not long, not long, not long at all!" Eric hurriedly waved his hand, "Think about it, everyone, a space-based weapon is not used every day, it can be said that it is only activated once in a very long time, and during this free time it is saving energy, Skye Industries has installed batteries large enough for it to store at least half a year's worth of energy!"

"Six months, that means that, fully charged, it can fire 260 consecutive rounds of the attack it just did." One general was very good at maths and quickly worked out this result orally, and was generally quite satisfied.

"Guys, you're not planning to deploy just one space-based weapon around the world, are you?" Eric looked around at the bigwigs in mock surprise, eliciting a chuckle from the crowd.

"Well, the main meal is over, time for some dessert!" Eric took out the metal case again and smiled mysteriously at the crowd, "Do you know why I chose the Sahara as the location for my experiments? Because this is the only place where we can demonstrate the ultimate power of space-based weapons!"

Without waiting for questions, Eric opened the case and did the same again, but ended up turning the two keys three times, turning the interface into something else and turning the whole screen blood red.

"Good point guys, how can you call it a space based weapon without a power comparable to a nuclear bomb? Come and see the ultimate power of a space-based weapon, which I have named, 'God's Judgment'!"

...
