Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: The Watcher pt.2

There are many races in the Marvel Universe, and if there were a list of strange races, the Watchers would be on it.

Born at the very beginning of the universe, this race is hundreds of millions of years ahead of all other life in the universe, with a highly evolved race, each with a long life span and great strength.

In the distant past, when the leader of the Watchers saw that other civilisations were still ignorant and primitive, he suggested to his people that, as the most intelligent and powerful race in the universe, it was their duty to help the weaker races to develop quickly.

Most of the Watchers were so supportive that they went to a planet that was still primitive, taught its people to use nuclear energy, watched the race develop rapidly, built nations and cities, eliminated hunger and disease, and then left.

But when they returned to the planet decades later, they found it in near ruins.

It turned out that the race had become so advanced that people began to fight for resources and power, and that the planet had been destroyed by chaotic nuclear radiation.

This led the leader of the Watchers to feel deeply remorseful and vowed never again to interfere with the development of other civilised races, but to observe and not to interfere. His people followed his vow, and thus The Watcher was born in the Marvel Universe.

The Watcher have been present at many of Marvel's biggest events, but they have done nothing but observe.

Of course, this should not be taken away from their power. The power of the Watchers is so perverse that their community has evolved to the level of the Multiverse, where almost every single universe has only one Watcher, and this one Watcher is able to observe the whole of the single universe every single moment.

They can even see the past and the future, they can foresee their own death, but they do nothing, even though they know they will die in the next moment, they calmly wait for death to come.

"Your Excellency the Watcher, I have a slight problem, I wonder if you could give me some small hints?" Eric knew all about this, but he still wanted to give it a try.

"Pfft! Hahahaha!" The White Fury laughed loudly, mocking Eric's humble tone, "It's no use, he won't say anything, I've been here a hundred times and he hasn't said a word."

As if in response, the floating watcher turned his head to look at him indifferently, and then nothing more.

Eric wasn't affected as he knew of someone who had succeeded, in some parallel universe, when a young superhero, Nova, from Earth, had gone to the moon to seek help from the Watcher in order to find out where his father was, and had succeeded in getting the information he wanted from the Watcher.

"Lord Watcher, you should know that I came from another universe, and when I entered this universe, I almost caused the destruction of two parallel universes, but fortunately lord Living Tribunal intervened and thus both universes were safe ..."

In order to get the information he wanted, Erik was desperate and revealed such a big secret directly in front of the White Fury, who, upon hearing that two universes were almost destroyed because of him, had his hands on his pistol, hesitating whether to solve this potential threat.

In fact, Eric is forcing the issue!

Look, he have done something wrong and Living Tribunal is there to wipe his ass. Isn't that enough proof that he's in a good relationship with the Living Tribunal, if you don't want to give me some face then the face of the Living Tribunal is enough, right?

It seemed that the prestige of the Living Tribunal had finally moved the watcher, and he turned slightly to his side, with a subtle expression on his face, as if he wanted to say something. Eric looked at his lips with anticipation, and the white fury was also tentatively watching.

Then, without a word, the watcher turned and drifted away, away ...

The white fury were dumbfounded, Eric was incredulous.

He rejected the face of the Living Tribunal? how disrespectful.

"Hahahaha!" The white fury fell to the ground laughing, his palms slapping heavily on the ground as if he was about to explode from all the laughter he had saved over the decades.

Eric had black lines on his face, but was not about to give up and followed the Watcher.

As the Watcher passed through cave after cave, Eric followed him and saw a whole lot of strange things in the cave, including armour, weapons, some kind of instrument that looked like a detection device, and a mess of plants, rocks and other things that looked like the Watcher's collection.

Eric remembered that the original Ultimate Nullifier was hidden in one of the Watcher's collection rooms, so he turned on his magnetic senses and compared them with his eyes, checking everything that he could see but could not.

The Watcher entered a small dark room at the far end of the base, yes, a small dark room, from the door, there was no light inside, it was pitch black.

The Watcher disappeared after entering the room. Eric hovered at the door for a while, then gritted his teeth and floated in.

Once inside, he realised that the room looked just as dark inside as it did outside. The only light in the room was from tge single watcher, whose faint glow was just enough for Eric to see his face clearly.

The other source of light is a huge screen that was a constantly flashing various images, both Earth and alien, past and present.

He saw Tchaka building blocks with Princess Shuri; he saw Barton fighting Psylocke while Skye clapped and cheered; he saw Captain Marvel walking through the universe with a few Kree ships behind him; he saw a buff purple-skinned man commanding a group of soldiers to slaughter a group of civilians with a green-skinned girl behind him. ...

Countless images flashed across the screen, so fast that even with Eric's current vision he could only catch a few of them.

The watcher waited for ten seconds or so, and when he was still looking at the screen, he waved his hand and the screen became blurred and all the faces were mosaiced.

"Hey, let me see that again!" Eric waved his hand, trying to get the watcher to remove the mosaic, but the he just stared at him motionlessly, making him feel furious.

Suddenly, Eric's eyes widened and he stared at the watcher, pointing to the screen next to him with a look of surprise.

The Watcher didn't say a word, just stared at him, as if waiting for him to say something.

...
