Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: What did you find

A dense list of documents is laid out, the first of which is a scientific paper.

The thesis postulates the existence of a rare element of extremely high atomic number on earth, through which mankind would be able to control gravity.

Unfortunately, the paper contains only hypotheses and a basket of data, but the author is not even sure where this gravitonium thing is, or whether it even exists.

The paper is signed by Franklin Hall and Ian Quinn, two brilliant scientists from Cambridge University.

Eric had read the paper numerous times and analysed the data in it numerous times. He knew that gravitonium was real, as Franklin Hall had fused with it to become a universal force that controls gravity in the King Thanos universe.

So the gravitonium would be the most direct way for him to control gravity.

But where is it? No one knows. It will be at least 15 or 16 years before it is first discovered.

"Future, does S.H.I.E.L.D. have any information on the location of the gravitonium?" Eric asked, even though he knew there was little hope, after all, the long table of contents at the bottom of the paper looked very bluffing.

A glowing bar appeared on the table of contents and each document moved down the list, the name of the document turning grey with each move.

Within minutes, all the information had turned grey, "I'm sorry, sir, but there is no information on the location of the gravitonium in the S.H.I.E.L.D. files, all the information, research and study of this paper collected by S.H.I.E.L.D."

"As expected!" Eric bristled, "Future, deploy all probe satellites, take care not to attract S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attention."

"Yes sir, it will take three minutes and twenty-one seconds for all satellites to be in position."

Looking at the countdown on the screen, Eric took a deep breath to calm his excitement.

Gravity and electromagnetism were among the four fundamental forces of the universe, and they were also the two most well-known of the four fundamental forces.

He thinks his IQ is not low, but his understanding of the other three basic forces is still a bit poor ...

If you can't figure it out yourself, get some outside help, there's no shame in that. And Gravitonium is one of the best helpers.

"Sir, the satellite has reached its intended trajectory, you may begin."

"Run the algorithms we've programmed, deploy all computing power, and keep a close eye on global gravitational changes." There was a gleam in Eric's eyes and he sat down crossed leg slowly.

"Yes, sir."

With everything in place, Eric placed his hands on the surface of the ground, here is an underground S.H.I.E.L.D. base where it was slightly easier to communicate geomagnetically than above ground.

The pulsing of the earth rang through Eric's mind like a heartbeat, the heartbeat of the earth.

The earth's pulsations changed slightly, but immediately reverted to silence.

At the same time, the data on the monitoring screen of a European country's earthquake monitoring centre suddenly jumped violently and the staff hurriedly called up the data, "Earthquake in the small town of Fleganzros, Greece, depth 10 km, magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale ..."

Eric: "Future, how's it going?"

Future: "No anomalies found, stratigraphic data mapping is 0.14% complete."

Eric: "Go on then!"

A seismological bureau in Asia: "Earthquake of 4.6 on the Richter scale in Jakarta at a depth of ..."

US Seismological Bureau: "Earthquake in New York ..."

...

"Sir, an unusual area has been discovered where there is a large underground space that appears to contain life."

"Pay no attention, that's the mole, a bunch of stragglers, nothing to fear, let's move on." Erik glanced at the screen and shook his head dismissively.

The symphony of earthquakes continued.

...

For a while, the whole world was broadcasting information about the earthquake.

At first, people thought it was just a normal crustal movement and didn't take it seriously, and the media only broadcast news in a small corner as a matter of routine.

Small earthquakes of this kind happen almost every day, the only difference being that some are detected and some are not. These small earthquakes can be felt as shaking at best and have minimal impact on human society.

However, within minutes of the news being broadcast, a flood of information about the earthquake swept across the computer screens of all major media outlets. The data was increasing by dozens every second, and the speed at which it was scrolling across the screen even caused the media's computers to lag at one point.

"What's going on?"

"Is it the end of the world?"

"It's a conspiracy by the US government!"

"Aliens are coming! Aliens are invading the Earth!"

"It's not aliens, it's Godzilla, they're coming up, they live deep underground ..."

"This is a punishment from Heaven! God is punishing us ..."

"Namo Amitabha Buddha ..."

...

Rumours abound in human society, alien theorists, geocentrists, apocalypticists, conspiracy theorists ....

The governments of all countries and some special organizations have begun to investigate, but no matter what methods they use, they can't do anything.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. is like an ant on a hot pot. They boast of being the umbrella of humanity, but at this critical moment they are blind.

"Coulson! Where are our satellites? Why am I not getting any satellite data!" Nick Fury fumed, smashing his keyboard several times.

"Director , for some reason, our satellites are concentrated in the Arctic and our agents are trying to bring them back, but are told they don't have enough access." Compared to Nick Fury's impatience, Coulson was much more calm, speaking with the calmness of a great general.

"Insufficient authority? How can that be? Your authority is ..." Nick Fury's voice got lower and lower as he spoke, and at the end of the sentence he just stopped talking, slapped himself in the face, turned around and walked away, leaving behind a group of confused agents.

He suddenly remembered that he had seemingly given Eric the authority to call up the satellite, and his own director's authority was certainly not something that they, the ordinary agents, could cover.

Nick Fury was on the move, barging his way into Eric's lab, who had just put his computer away and was looking at Nick Fury, who had kicked in the door, with a bewildered look on his face.

"Fury, is your old sow having a hard time giving birth?"

"Eric, what the hell are you looking for when you have all of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellites tuned to the North Pole?" Nick Fury was suddenly not in a hurry when he saw Eric, a man who could do miracles.

"Looking for the good stuff, of course!" Eric smiled mysteriously, "Wanna see?"

Nick Fury's one eye rolled up and his head dipped slightly as he gave Eric a critical look.

"What exactly did you find?"
