Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Obelisk

What did you find? Gravitonium, of course!

With the full resources of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellites, the future super-spec computing power of the AI, and Eric's artificially created weak earthquakes, finding the gravitonium is a snap!

But can you tell Nick Fury, a miserable miser who is as black as he is inside, about such a treasure? Of course not!

With a few clicks on his computer, Eric opened the photo he had prepared and smiled slightly, "Fury, I've found the legend of America!"

Nick Fury's eyes widened when he saw the picture of the strange frozen plane, "Red Skull's plane! Captain America!"

"That's right, and, I can tell you with absolute certainty, he's alive!"

"That's not possible, he's been frozen in ice for over sixty years!" Nick Fury's face was full of disbelief.

"But he's been injected with the super soldier drug! The drug has made him more than human!"

Nick Fury took a deep breath, "Are you telling the truth?"

"Of course it's true, I should tell Coulson, he'll be so happy that his idol has been found." Coulson's collection of Captain America cards was known to almost everyone in S.H.I.E.L.D., and of course Eric knew about it too.

"I think it's best if we don't tell him." Nick Fury's voice trailed off as his eyes flickered a few times.

Eric was stunned, then shook his head helplessly. This guy, he knew how to hide things, even in his most trusted subordinate.

"Eric, can you go get our legend and bring him home?"

"What are you talking about? Fury! You're probably senile, aren't you?" Eric laughed out loud, "I'm Jewish! Polish by nationality! That's your legend, not mine!"

"Are you sure you don't want to help? With the Tesseract around, all you have to do is snap your fingers and you're there."

"Fury, there is a cost to using any power, the difference is only that some are big and some are small, some you can see and some you can't." Eric shook his head and spread his hands out to show that there was nothing he could do.

Nick Fury was puzzled, "What's the point of pointing him out if you don't want to go save him?"

"Skye's going to visit the Captain America Memorial next weekend and I thought it would be more fun to see a wax figure rather than a real person."

So you've gone to great lengths to get access to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellites and mobilise thousands of them just to have fun with your daughter?

What do you think S.H.I.E.L.D. is? A department store?

What do you think I am, Nick Fury? A salesman?

I'm going to throw the table in a minute!

"Lift the table? Yeah!" Eric tapped his knuckles on the table, "It's alloy, it weighs at least two tons, try lifting one!"

Nick Fury: "Alright, I'll send someone to find it, you finish the reflector as soon as you can."

...

With a small smile as he watched Nick Fury leave, Eric once again connected to the S.H.I.E.L.D. database and searched for the Obelisk.

This time, he found the results quickly, and with a level six access level, he was just able to check it out.

The Obelisk, in fact, was not originally part of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Alexander, it was originally part of the other Hydra, Whitehall.

Of course, it is also not part of Whitehall, but rather of Jiaying, Skye's own mother, a part of a race called Inhumans who could absorb the life force of others to make themselves immortal.

In 1945, Whitehall was arrested and imprisoned in Austria, and the Obelisk he had taken from Jiaying fell into the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D.

It was so strange that if the person who touched it had Inhuman blood in their veins, all was well. However, if a person without Inhuman blood touches it, they will be turned into a pile of rubble.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. got it, they tested it and studied it, but they didn't get anything out of it except a few more petrified agents, so they put it on a shelf.

This was a blessing for Eric, who knew exactly what was in the Obelisk.

The Terrigen Crystal! The thing that could awaken Skye's bloodline! He had to have it, for Skye's sake and his own.

"Item 084? Whoever named it was lazy!" Erik spat, shutting down his computer to modify the UV shield.

He had designed this, so no one knew the structure inside better than he did. All he had to do was take the chip out, put it into a special read/write device, change the program a little, add a part or two, and a cloaking device that worked by refracting light was born.

The whole process takes less than five minutes.

...

The next morning, Eric said goodbye to Nick Fury, his main purpose for coming to S.H.I.E.L.D. had been achieved, and he had a clue to the two things he wanted most, so there was no point in staying.

"Eric, are you sure this thing will work?" Nick Fury, holding a lighter-sized device, asked with some suspicion.

"Yes, I made it clear, weld this to the bottom of your ship, each gadget can cover an area of ten square meters, weld a few more and as soon as it activates, your big toy disappears."

The mission S.H.I.E.L.D. had given him this time was complete, and as for the electromagnetic cannon? Please, go to Skye Industries and buy it! You want him to give it away for free? No way!

Nick Fury was so hard pressed that he almost cried himself to sleep.

The cost of installing electromagnetic cannons on an entire aircraft carrier is not a small amount, and Nick Fury can only cover his wallet and cry.

Before leaving, Eric saw an excited Coulson, who was about to board a plane to the North Pole, as the honorable task of finding Captain America had finally fallen to him.

"Nick Fury's really unpopular, as he only got a few good agents under his belt, well, I can't blame him, apart from those few, the rest seem to be Hydra? Snake S.H.I.E.L.D., ho ho ho!

Leaving Snake S.H.I.E.L.D., Eric immediately went to a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. warehouse, where he found a metal box with "S.S.R. 084" written on the top.

With a wave of his hand, Erik ripped off the outer metal casing, revealing a blue crystal that fell to the ground.

Eric flicked his finger and the crystal surprisingly stopped in mid-air.

The Terrigen crystal, a product of Kree technology, contained a large number of known and unknown components, not the least of which was metal.

Once again wrapped in its metallic shell, Eric took the obelisk into his arms.

"Next target, gravitonium!"
