Chereads / Rainy Rose / Chapter 3 - Hi

Chapter 3 - Hi

The sun has shone on the earth. The birds sing, and the flowers spread their signature fragrance to welcome the day.

Fresh air was blowing. Not long after, the sky was sad again. Gradually, the sun was covered by dark clouds that made it impossible for him to give light to the creature he loved so much.

"Ready?" asked Natsume who was now at the doorstep of his best friend's house.

Neko rushed out with her favorite dark blue flatshoes. And after that, he immediately followed Natsume and left together.

Indeed, the distance between campus and their homes is not too far. It only took fifteen minutes.

"Ah, Natsume-kun...."

"Wait," Natsume cut in with a serious look. Neko could only watch Natsume's expression and in the end, she turned his face to the man in front of them.

A smile appeared on the man's face. The cold and mysterious gaze made Neko transfixed.

Natsume grabbed her hand and pulled Neko behind her back. He also gave a cold stare.

"Wow, long time no see, Natsume Sakasaki-kun," said the man in a very cold tone.

"Eichi Tenshouin," muttered Natsume with a look that was no less terrifying.

The blonde man just laughed softly then turned around, "See you in class."

After that, the man named 'Eichi Tenshouin' even then left in front of them. Leaving Natsume with a terrible aura and Neko who can only be silent about Natsume's behavior.

Neko sat down a little rough in class. In fact, his expression was a little gloomy than usual. And again, Natsume reneged on his words if he was going back to class. But in fact, he chose to skip.

"You're already upset this morning, Ojou-chan."

Neko just propped her chin beadedly staring at the table, "Um, that's how it is."

The man next to Neko just carved a smile. Until Neko realized who was sitting on Natsume's bench.

"Sakuma-san?" called Neko which made the man with long hair with blood red beads smile even more, "Sakuma Rei. Nice to meet you, Ojou-chan."

"K-Kurosaki Neko. N-nice to meet you," replied Neko .

Then, Neko's gaze shifted and locked onto a blonde man whom she and Natsume had met while leaving for campus.

"Eichi Tenshouin, huh? It's best if you stay away from him, Ojou-chan."

Hearing those words, Neko immediately looked at the man next to her, "Why?"

Rei also gave a mysterious look, "Perhaps, Natsume-kun already knows the answer."

After that, the other students had filled this room and the lecturer was also present. This morning's class started.

There is nothing special about this course. Just an explanation of the material about music, and so on.

*****

Break time has arrived. Neko immediately took the time to look for her partner, Natsume in the library.

Although the library is now at hand. However, Natsume would rather come in person than read it through the cell phone.

"Natsu... me...."

Neko's gaze was fixed on the two people who were in the library together with Natsume first. Of course, they were the people Natsume had asked Neko to stay away from.

One of them, who was none other than Sakuma Rei immediately smiled, "Hi, Ojou-chan. We meet again."

Neko smiled awkwardly, "A-ah...."

Natsume couldn't help but sigh. He also seemed to close his eyes for a moment before he looked at Neko who looked awkward.

"So, what do you need here, Koneko-chan?" asked Natsume.

"A-ah, n-no. I just wanted to say that I was waiting for you at the park as usual, okay," said Neko who immediately turned around and tried to leave the place if she didn't bump into someone she had seen before.

"Rit-chan, don't be like that," Rei scolded.

"Hm? Sorry, I didn't mean to," said the man who was none other than Sakuma Ritsu, the younger brother of Sakuma Rei.

"Let me help," continued Ritsu while holding out his hand. However, the outstretched hand was gently pushed away by Natsume who immediately helped Neko stand up.

Natsume also signaled to Neko that he would soon follow. To be precise, after lunch.

So, Neko could only spend time with Anzu. Yes, Natsume's friend at school. In fact, Natsume had even told Anzu the ridiculous things he had done.

"Well, you've seen it up close, haven't you?" said Natsume after it was felt that Neko had gone quite far from his current location.

"Apparently, you take good care of him, Natsume-kun," Rei said while shaking the remaining tomato juice that was still in his glass.

Natsume seemed to be sighing as he packed his things, "Don't go near him, Rei nii-san. After all, she shouldn't be in the slightest contact with you guys."

Rei just smiled mysteriously. As for Ritsu, he seemed calm as usual. Or, arguably more inclined towards not caring.

However, Ritsu's mind was completely different. This is the first time Ritsu has seen Neko up close.

Usually, he only sees and pays attention to Neko from a distance. Moreover, when Neko played her violin in the garden. It felt more peaceful than before.

"And Ritsu, can you stop observing Neko?"

Those words made Ritsu glance and get up lazily, "Hm? I didn't do anything. Especially observing things that weren't that important."

"Oh, Rit-chan watching Ojou-chan?" interrupted Rei in a teasing tone that sounded disgusting to Ritsu.

"I think it's natural, watching the movements of the prey before she knows if his life is at the end of the thread," Ritsu avoided.

Natsume seemed unconcerned about it. Instead, he carried his bag, "Most importantly, don't go near him."

"What about Eichi Tenshouin?" said Rei which made Natsume stop in his tracks and look at him again.

"Ecchan? Did he come back?" said Ritsu with a sleepy tone.

"Take care of it later. As long as the three of you don't put your hands on Neko, I will remain silent," said Natsume, who then left the two brothers alone.

And again, Neko played her violin in the garden. Only, this time he was accompanied by Anzu.

Anzu who realized Natsume's presence immediately asked Natsume to sit with him and listen to a beautiful melody that had never existed in the history of music before. Even though Natsume had heard it yesterday, it didn't feel like he was tired of hearing the melody yet.

Unknowingly, Natsume caught something he should have realized yesterday. Yes, the longer the melody was heard, the more it showed a sad and lonely side that made Natsume wonder, 'Does Koneko-chan really feel that way?'
