I was pregnant.
I guess I was putting it off, because I was nervous that it would be negative. I really didn't want it to be negative but seeing the two lines on the pregnancy kit literally gave me chills, my eyes watered as I tried to hold back my tears. I was so damn happy.
"Aaron!" I shouted as I exited the bathroom into our room. I could hear heavy footsteps running which probably made me regret shouting out Aaron's name loudly, he probably thinks something bad happened to me. Aaron quickly entered the room with a worried look on his face which turned perplexed when he saw my excited happy tears face.
I couldn't speak so I just held the pregnancy test high, and his eyes widened when he saw it in my hands, he came closer and just stared at it for a few seconds trying to process the information. I could see him trying hold back his tears as we just stared into each other's eyes. We both were aware that I was going to be pregnant but now that we know for sure, it's a completely different feeling which I can't seem to process.
Aaron pulled me into his arms as we hugged each other tight, for a long time, neither of us said a single word. I closed my eyes and buried my head in the crook of his neck. I was so damn happy, this week had been hell for me and now I am happy, nothing can ruin it.
I won't let it.
After hugging for a good five minutes, I broke the hug, "Aaron please lets go, let's tell Mary and Joseph everything. I am going to have a baby and I refuse to give birth to it with people like Katrine and Benjamin roaming around free." I say as I gulp when I realize how difficult it is going to be to spit out the truth in front of them but I have to do it.
"I am not completely on board with the idea but if that's what you want to do, then we can do that. Whatever puts your mind at ease is worth giving a shot." He explains and I hug him again, realizing that my child is going to have the best father I could possibly give it.
I am so damn lucky.
"Wow, you are really emotional today!" Aaron says as he wipes a single tear fast before I could see it, making me laugh at his cuteness.
"Can we go now? The sooner we do it, the better it is right?" I ask and he nervously nods his head. I feel like Aaron is more scared of Mary than Joseph. But Mary anyways doubted us so it probably won't be a huge surprise for her. I am actually proud of Aaron because he was really against the idea of confessing our lie but I guess the baby is making him see the situation in a different light.
As we reach The Lachlan mansion I see a familiar car in view and I feel my stomach drop to the ground.
Oh no!
The fact that Mary and Joseph might find things out from someone else is really bad, it would break their heart that we didn't tell them before things worsened.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Aaron asked me as he halted the car in front of the entrance, "That's Benjamin's car." I mutter quietly, trying to contemplate our next move. Aaron and I exchange looks before quickly stepping out of the car and entering the mansion, it scared me that the door was open.
"Grandma!" Aaron shouted with a horrified look on his face, he was scared, I was too. These two are capable of doing things beyond my comprehension and honestly it's not something I can deal with anymore.
We walk up to the living area to see the television on, Benjamin on his knees and grandma just standing 3 feet away from him with a gun in her hand.
Okay, what the actual fuck
"Come on son, tell me, I don't have all day!" Grandma shouted at him making Benjamin cry, "You think you can just come in here and talk to my husband. I knew something was fishy the moment he included you in his project, I have never seen such a pathetic kiss ass in my life."
"I have already given you the tape, please just make it stop, I can't deal with anymore!" Benjamin cried out loud as tears streamed from his eyes.
"Wait what tape?" I shouted out of confusion, I need to know what's going on right now.
"Vicky, please save me, I am sorry about everything!" He says as he almost crawls towards me, "Don't you dare touch her, she is my granddaughter and I will shoot you right here." Fear flashes in Benjamin's eyes as he stops moving.
"Okay, where is grandpa?" Aaron finally asks in a flabbergasted tone as we exchange looks again but he was cut off by Jake who entered the room from the other side.
WHAT IS HAPPENING
"Mary, I formatted and checked the tape it hasn't been duplicated so this is the original and the only copy." Jake says as he hands over the tape to grandma.
A sense of relief washes over me as a huge burden is taken of my shoulder when I hear those words but still I am very confused.
"Okay, please can someone tell me what happened?" Aaron asks quietly and everyone looks at him, "MARY PUNCHED ME!" Benjamin cries making me almost laugh at his sentence.
I mean I knew she was badass but this is like a whole new level.
"Everyone sit down on the couch right now, you two specially, I am so disappointed right now. But I will deal with you two later. Now I have to handle this situation." Mary glared at us with an eerily hushed voice making the hair at the back of my neck stand.
Aaron and I nodded as we all headed towards the couch. Jake carried a crying bleeding Benjamin, whose face was already swollen from last week's beating that Aaron gave him and now he has fresh wounds too. This was very mean but I don't feel bad for him because he deserves it.
"Now Benjamin, I was going to let you free and just have you confess the truth about Katrine, but you went behind my back, now I will not stop until you are in prison. I will let off the hook if you confess to the police about Katrine and yours evil intentions, go through the trial without a lawyer and agree to whatever punishment you get. Also I see you or Katrine lurking around my family again, I won't hesitate to make a few calls." Mary warns him as he quickly nods at her terms.
Make a few calls? To whom?
She knows about Katrine?
I shot a look to Jake, maybe he went ahead and told her but he just shrugged his shoulders before walking up next to me.
"I didn't tell her anything, yesterday I got a call from her to come here at 10 am, I have been just following her orders." He whispers back as Mary jots down a few things on a piece of paper before handing it to Benjamin.
"Where is grandpa?" Aaron leans in and asks, has asked that question a few times now.
"Grandma made him leave yesterday for Spain, she didn't want him to witness this." He says and I breathe out of relief as I know Mary wouldn't rat us out to Joseph.
"Where did she get the gun? Did you give her yours?" I asked surprised, never in my life did I ever think I'd see Mary with a gun in her hand.
"No, that surprised me too, she has like a collection!" Jake states with surprise still evident in his voice, "Just don't tell Joseph about it, he is against gun and violence while I am guessing she is a gun nut." He says and laughs a little but quickly shuts up when Mary glares at him.
"You know I had an uncle who did a similar thing like this to his wife, then she showed up at his funeral where he was supposed to be alive but then she killed him." She tells Benjamin the story like she was offering him a drink.
What even?
"Why do all of your stories include funerals or deaths?" Jake asked and Mary just smacked his head lightly asking him to shut up.
Jake removed a tape recorder from his pocket and kept it in front of Benjamin, "SPEAK!" Grandma orders him still clutching to the gun.
"I am Benjamin Wills, I taped my then girlfriend Victoria Fox, without her consent during our intimate moments, and then I got together with Katrine Scotts, former wife of Paul Scotts. We decided to blackmail them in exchange for one of their cash cow companies and sexual favour. Then we blackmailed Aaron Riverwood and Victoria Fox. My terms for Victoria were for her to give me Aaron's entire company. Katrine told Aaron to marry her and also made a lot of inappropriate sexual comments, which can be also considered as sexual assault." Aaron and I just stare at Benjamin as he reads out from the paper grandma had handed him.
Saying that I was shocked would be an understatement. Whatever written on that paper was 100% accurate. I couldn't get over how much grandma knew about us. From when did she know? And what leverage does she have on Benjamin that he prefers going to jail over it?
As I looked up, I saw a few police men walking in and arresting Benjamin, Jake followed them outside before telling us, "You all will be called to the station for your testimony and they would want to ask some questions, but I think that's it. Everything is over, Victoria." He says as he smiles at me making tears well up in my eyes, the last week or even the last month had been hell for me.
Everything was fine now.
I am married to Aaron, I am about to have a baby and I can just lead a normal life without any worry. This feels like a dream.
There was a pin drop silence as now it was only the three of us in the room. Aaron and I stared at the grandma as she stared back at us too but none of us spoke a word.
"You owe us an explanation."
"You two owe me an explanation."
I have so many questions right now!
