Chapter 36 - Helena von Apollo

The name Helena von Apollo became famous in the past.

The reason for this was because she wanted to learn her familia's [Sun Bow Art] despite being a woman.

The [Sun Bow Art] uses the sun as its source of energy, making it more compatible with men.

If a woman tries to learn this skill, her body will reject the sun's energy, which will cause huge amounts of complications and injuries to the woman's body.

That was why men had a higher standing in the Apollo Familia.

As this news became widespread, it also became the topic of the noble circles and commoners.

It became the reason why Helena was mocked at by the people around her, saying that she was too ambitious and that she did not know what was good for her.

What made her situation worse was the fact that she was an illegitimate child of the Apollo Familia's patriarch with a commoner woman.

Even her father, who doted on her when she was little, suddenly changed one day and ignored her. As if all their happy memories were only a figment of her imagination.

With the death of her mother, she couldn't take it anymore and ran away from home.

Now, after going through countless adversities and facing innumerable struggles, she had finally returned.

As she performed the skill she personally created, she felt happy.

She felt happy that all the people in the stadium who mocked and made her life miserable in the past will see how far she had come.

At this moment, Sera was silently observing the figure who was in the process of demonstrating her skill.

Just as she heard the name [Sun Sword Art], she was surprised by the amount of surprised gasps and comments of the people around her.

"What? The Apollo Familia's specialty was [Sun Bow Art], right?"

"Yes it is…"

"Then what was the skill that she used…"

"I don't know… maybe she achieved perfect proficiency?"

"What!? Doesn't achieving perfect mastery have the effect of being able to use the [Sun Bow Art] even if the weapon used was not a bow?"

"It's possible…"

"Isn't a skill derived from one with perfect mastery different from this though…?"

"Thinking about it, you're right.."

"Besides, isn't she too young…"

"Right, achieving perfect mastery on a skill will take decades if not a century!"

"But still… what if that was the case…"

Sera also noticed that the people of the Apollo and Luna familia all stood up with bewildered expressions on their faces.

However, she just observed them through her peripheral vision.

She was still focused on what happened on the stage, her eyes were shining, afraid that she would miss something.

The figure just finished chanting the skill and executed a move that became imprinted in Sera's mind.

Flames erupted on the figure's sword as she performed the slash, the slash that made Sera's eyes widen in amazement

'Wow…'

Her lips became an "o" shape as she could not help but express her astonishment.

The heat caused by the slash made the people in the stadium sweat uncontrollably, some even found it hard to breathe.

Sera noticed that there was something special about these flames, it was as if they were from the sun itself.

She couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Likewise, Helena also noticed Sera in the crowd.

Especially Sera's eyes which were shining in a strange light. As she was casting the skill earlier, Helena felt as if she was being dissected thoroughly.

The way she breathed, the way she gathered mana, her stance and all the elements concerning the skill were all seen through by the strange light in that young lady's eyes.

It made her uneasy.

However, as she located the source of her unease, she was surprised to find an innocent looking young lady in the crowd.

Helena expected it to be some sort of spy or someone with malicious intentions, she expected anything but an innocent young lady.

Furthermore, what caught her attention was Sera's golden eyes. It was beautiful enough to make her captivated.

After performing the skill, the whole stadium was in an uproar.

However, Helena and Sera just looked at each other for a while, not bothered by their surroundings at all.

On Zen's side…

Zen laid on the ground while panting in exhaustion, feeling the pain on his body.

There were also a pile of weapons scattered throughout the training grounds such as spears, swords, daggers, shields, and other kinds of cold weapons.

There were even sticks, rocks and other random things included in it.

Zen remembered the spar that happened earlier and was surprised about the variety of techniques that Arthur used to beat him up earlier.

The reason for this was because no matter what Arthur was holding, it became the most suitable weapon to adapt to the situation.

It was close to the technique that he had read in a novel.

The technique where the user has high amounts of mastery in the way of the sword, that even though it was only a thin tree branch he was holding, it was as if it turned into the sharpest sword in his hands.

That was the best way he could describe Arthur's technique.

However, there were also a lot of differences between the two techniques.

If the user can turn the thinnest stick into the sharpest sword in the novel, then Arthur would use the stick in the most efficient way possible depending on the attack he was making.

Another thing that became ingrained in Zen's memories was the flow of Arthur's attacks. Even if he was holding a stick and then a rock in the next second, he could still somehow find a way to connect his attacks using two different things.

'It was as if he was using magic…'

Zen could not help but think of the torture that he experienced earlier. After all, even though he could heal at high-speed, he could still feel pain.

He was thankful because his suffering that was going on for a few hours had finally ended.

However, he could not help but stare at the system notifications that appeared in front of him after his "sparring" with Arthur.

'What the…'
