The expression on her face was practically unreadable as I questioned her and then-- she finally spoke, "I have killed a total of six thousand eighty eight humans of the empire, three thousand thirty two from the Kingdom of Vartila and - - - eighteen demons conspiring against me."
She looked at me with her motionless gaze as I was in shock of her will not being broken because - - - she continued to count the dead she was responsible.
She peered into me with her blood red eyes as she continued as if she had read my mind," You asked me that question because you knew I would answer even though I didn't know the exact answer..."
I forcibly interrupted her as she smiled wryly while looking at the table she's sitted on, "W--Why did you count them."
She looked at me once more as I chose to use my second question of the curse game instantaneously unlike the two sitted at different ends of this large table, "It's - - - because I was counting how many times am going to pay when I finally die and join them, an eye for an eye afterall."
Death is a part of our lives and when entities die like us humans and in the case of Elize, demons, we choose to mourn them and their deaths give us a sense of sentimentality, but when we get used to it - - - it, the sense of sentimentality is broken and now because of it, Elize and Asmodeus are damaged beyond repair.
Asmodeus who was listening in silently, had a forced smile on, as if she had already decided there was no room for sentimental bullshit and in light of that, chose to suppres her emotions like Elize.
Demons are the same as us humans, we eat, we drink and most importantly of all - - - we have the same emotions so, even though it's selfish---I will protect their happy and at the same time--their sad smiles too.
"Hey - - - can we continue this curse game sometime in the future," they didn't know if they were going to be alive the next second, minute, hour or in retrospective terms, days, months abd even years--after all the future they were heading to, was an unpredictable challenger.
" Yeah!! " the girls, no the demons in the room spoke in a low monotone, postponing the next curse game till further notice.
"L--Let's start this supper."
