Ok…It's been two months since I said it'll take a week or so to get comfortable. And I haven't even entered the university yet.
When Tera would come by during one of her "visits" to kale (which really devolved into her teasing him in his home while me and Lilith watched) she'd take some result from me and pen it into her notebook she had with her. She took some results of my magic and noted it as being Intermediate ranked at age Five and noted how I could do chant less spells. She said this would take a bit as the university does take time to evaluate the applicants who apply. She really was trying to make me her student as she made sure my report was substantially well condensed with what I can do.
And other than that, my success in finding this prince was to no avail. But I managed to really figure out the layout for most of the kingdom's roads and districts. I spent most of my time walking with Kale and Lilith as Kale would give us a tour when he needed to go somewhere.
Also, Kale was a busy man. Beside being a Fire King teacher, he would be given a task by the king to do some work for money like helping figure out some issues in the market or handling issues that people complained or requested to the king. He basically was one of the king's police force members if I could call it that.
And Kale didn't hate it, in fact he enjoyed helping people. He always went around with a smile and had a friendly attitude.
Now, when he is with Lilith…
"Keep your attacks relentless!" He yelled.
Right now, I was watching the two spar in the front lawn. Not that I really had anything else to do.
Lilith came in with a slash to the left and proceeded to relentlessly strike multiple times at Kale, who effortlessly Dodged them.
Lilith has shown some great amount of progress during these two months. She's learned the basics of the style and that greatly increased her mobility in battle. Her strikes were faster, but not fast enough it seems for kale.
Their sparring session came to an end when Kale ducked under one of her attacks and in a blur, he used the flat side of his blade to whack her stomach. That sent her flying back across the lawn.
"Against another Fire king style user, you need to show more power and dominance in your duel. Otherwise you'll end up with injuries far worse than that hit, Lilith." Kale had a serious tone when he said that.
Lilith quickly recovered from the ground and looked at him with a serious face.
"You're learning to break one's defenses with pure strength and endurance. Speed is your friend too. Your speed is tremendous for someone who just started." Kale said to Lilith.
"But when your training is finished.."
Kale took a step forward and before I even noticed, he closed the distance between himself and Lilith in a second, Kale pointed his blade at her. Lilith was surprised too, stunned by his fast movement.
"You'll probably be even faster than me. I can see it." Kale then lowered his blade and held his hand out to Lilith. "Alright, let's go get some food at the market!" He said in a cheerful voice.
Lilith gladly took his hand as she was now smiling over the fact that they'll get food. Kale was an alright cook in the kitchen and Lilith has been watching him cook. She's probably gotten interested in cooking now because of kale.
I started to imagine myself waking up to a morning breakfast made from Lilith.
Mmm, a cute girl making me food…
"Kota! Are you coming with us?" Kale interrupted my thoughts with that question.
"Oh, O-of course!"

The market was bustling with people today. Kale wanted to get some meat and seasoning so he could cook something for dinner. Lilith went off on her own to find sweets, so I just stuck with Kale for the time being.
Through these two months, I've gotten somewhat close to Kale. Just through the connection that I was Gerald's son, he asked a lot about him. But he was more interested in me as in his words "I feel like I'm talking to Gerald during his Teen years, you talk like a adult for a eleven year old." Me and Kale would talk about my magic skills and about other things. Sometimes he'd even ask me for some help with Tera whenever she came by.
"Hey Kota, what meat would be better to cook? They got chicken here and pork as well." Kale asked.
As much as there are similarities between this world and my old world, there were substantial differences when it came to food. Either the food was bitter here or just tasted too odd from what I thought they'd taste. The chicken and pork here were somewhat similar, it was just that they tasted slightly bitter and the person who makes them tends to just cook with no seasoning or anything.
I wonder if I could incorporate my cooking skills into this world? I could be the greatest fucking chef here just due to it, they'll have my name branded on recipe books on how to make seasoned eggs and meat.
"Hey Kota, stop making that face! People are staring, are you that hungry?" Kale interrupted my thoughts with a bonk to my head.
I noticed at the moment that I was drooling, the foods I reminisced about must've made me hungry for them.
"Uh, let's just get chicken."
"You…you need to not drool in public.
"I'm just hungry!"
Once Kale bought the meat, we went on to buy some vegetables and potatoes. We made some small talk about Liliths training and Tera before we stumbled into Lilith again.
She had bought some pastels and many other snacks that were in a basket she found.
"How much was that?" I asked.
She never answered, the only response was the noises coming from her as she ate the pastel.
"If we don't have anything else to grab, let's head ho-." Kale stopped mid sentence as he noticed something.
I couldn't see what he was looking at, my height really didn't help me here.
"Kota, hold onto the veggies." Kale said as he dropped the vegetables to me. He headed through the crowd, pushing those aside.
"Kota, should we follow?" Lilith asked.
"Let's follow from a distance, this might be one of Kale's jobs." I said back, dropping the vegetables into Liliths basket. "Let's go."
Swimming through the group of people, we ended up not finding kale, but someone who crashed into us.
"Gah! Move it, kid!" It was a man who was holding a money sack, he had fallen when he hit us and was now clambering back to his feet.
"Hey! You little shit!" I heard kale as he pushed through the crowd.
It was a chase in the market, a robber was stealing a money bag and Kale noticed.
"Stop right there, King Lucian will have your head!" Kale drew his sword out as the robber was now on his feet.
The robber was sweating, we were now in a circle of people who were watching.
"Fuck, I hate saying that phrase…" Kale mumbled. "Anyways, just drop the bag and let's have a nice walk back to the prison, alright?"
The robber sneered and grabbed Lilith, drawing a dagger from his pocket. "I'll kill this girl!"
Kale frowned, eyeing the man. "Taking a little girl, huh? What a shit trope you people do."
"I'll fucking do it! Now let me leave and we can pretend nothing happened!"
"You're holding my apprentice, what makes you think I'll pretend nothing happened?"
I watched as Lilith wiggled in the man's arm, looking irritated as the man held the dagger to her face. I dont have my staff with me as I left it at Kale's house, but I wanted to be of use. I looked at Kale and he looked at me as I pointed at my palm and the man, to which Kale immediately realized that I wanted to help.
Putting my palm to the floor, I casted a tiny stone wall. The floor beneath the man rumbled as a rock jutted out from below, hitting him right in his nether region.
"Guah!" The man made that noise as he felt the impact. Lilith then used this chance to elbow him in the face with her left arm, I could have sworn I heard a crunching noise when it connected.
Kale came running in, grabbing Lilith as she had fallen out of the man's hand. He then twirled and gave the man a huge kick, sending him flying.
The crowd went wild for Kale as he put Lilith down, waving at everyone. The man was a popular figure here, but that's reasonably understandable knowing he's usually on the street helping the people.
"I'll have this man brought to the guards here. Can you make sure The food is safe and head home with Lilith, kota?" Kale lifted the unconscious man as he said that. "Don't let anyone in the house, Especially Tera, I'm pretty sure she's off of her duties at the University."
I nodded and looked at Lilith. She grabbed her basket of snacks and vegetables and gave me a thumbs up as we headed back to the house.
