Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Visiting an Unknown Port

Only about four hours later at flank engine speed did I reach the city, it's just on the horizon but I decided to slow the ship down in case there are fishing boats undetected by radar. I was right. It was night time, and there were ships designed to fish for squid and other marine life that are edible. I was looking around and went to the deck of the ship, just in front of the turrets. I thought about how I'm going to explain how I got to this world but decided to ditch that thought and think about that later.

I'm thinking of where to dock since the docks are all wooden and might not even support this metallic ship. The high tide allowed me to make it to one of the docks even though my ship is taller than it, and I landed safely on the dock, and moored the ship safely while also lowering the anchors.

Now, the local townsfolk don't seem shaken to see a battleship casually docked on their port but eventually the guards approached me, with a rifle each strapped to their backs as they hold onto what looks like a clipboard on one hand and a pen on the other.

They interrogated me on why the ship was here and what's my purpose. I suggested they bring reinforcements and have a quick look all over the ship top down (except the bridge and guns room) and they agreed. They searched for contraband such as cotton or garter but it's not even present cuz' it's all ammunition.

After continuous question and answer, they gave me this badge and requested I show up to the mayor the following day who governs the port, in which they call 'Alofia Bay'.

"Alright, I'll be glad to show up. But what do I say? Just introduce myself and that's it?"

"Yeah, introduce yourself. What you do for a living, why you're here... all those. The mayor would be asking you those anyways, so you can just prepare for the questions tomorrow. It's gonna be before sunset that you need to show up. Here's the ticket, and you'll present this to the front desk. The roof of the Mayor's residence is purple. Remember that." The head knight said before they all went away.

I looked at my inventory to see what items I had and to my surprise I kept all the items I had back in the real world, and all the rewards and such in the game I played.

I took out my cellphone and of course there's no service— but I'm surprised that the cell service seems to be coming off the ship. Meaning I can still browse the internet, stay in touch with my friends even while I'm here. I... got off the ship and stored it away instead of just leaving it at port, and that's when the people are surprised.

"Sir, did we just see you storing away that ship?" Asked a civilian wearing a kimono.

"Yes. Using this ring."

"Ah, I see. Alright. As... long as you hurt no one everyone's gonna be chill with you, okay? Welcome to Alofia!"

"Thanks!"

We all went our way. As with every isekai I have ever witnessed I head straight to the inn, where I found people dining at their leisure and I was called by the bartender, and he asked me questions such as where I'm from or what.

I decided not to hide any detail, and revealed that I was playing this game of warships where I fight hydras or krakens or even extraterrestrial made spaceships and he and the other people were impressed. I showed proof as I had it all recorded in my phone(the gameplay) and they're impressed.

"Wow! You did an awesome job defending the virtual waters then!"

"Without the other people I wouldn't have done it. Extremely thankful to them."

"I'm highly impressed, and would be interested to know more... What power was granted to you when you transferred over to this planet?" I was asked by the fellow sitting beside me drinking a glass of whiskey.

"Well, I haven't really explored. Aside from the storage ring thing, shapeshifting weapons.. yeah."

"Shapeshifting weapons. Interesting! Meanwhile all other people have unique spells, I myself wield a sword that can shift its size but never the weight. It'll be weightless!" Said the guy drinking whiskey. The same fellow.

I'm more than interested to learn about the culture of these Alofians. They're highly friendly, hospitable and all the things I needed were free except for purchasing vehicles. That's really the only costly things. I'm more impressed by the fact I can trust them and I didn't hear a single whisper of exploiting my power or turning me into a slave.

After I'm done with my drink, I asked for a room to stay in and I went ahead and got over to the room at the fourth floor, closed the door but I didn't lock it, and went to sleep. Next morning everything in the room was cleaned even though it is already and the windows opened. I sat up and decided to meditate on bed.

Just about later on, an avian flew into my room and landed gracefully. I had my sonar active on myself as I learned how to detect heat signatures and non-heat signatures, and I saw it having a puzzled look.

I didn't turn to see him, as my focus was to simply meditate and review what kind of powers I got. It would seem that I was not only given ability to create and turn into reality whatever it is I want, I got control over the element of Lightning, Fire, Water and Air. Earth is something I don't have but may be able to learn soon.

I finally stopped pretending I don't know who just came into my room and acted perfectly as if I just woke up. I looked around and saw the window open and looked to my right to see the avian just standing there.

"Hello?" I looked right at the Avian, looking up and down as if I'm giving him a good look.

"Hi, sorry. My name is Lapin. I'm just... resting. I hope you don't mind."

"So long as you don't hurt me, then I'm find with you here." I said, before getting back to meditation.

I didn't expect to have the conversation be normal like that but I just went on to meditating anyways. I tried to envision using lightning, so I formed my hands into a position where I could form an orb of lightning, and it did come to life. I looked at it, and smiled. After purposely losing concentration on the orb it dissipated to nothingness.

I had the memory of playing Genshin Impact where as I used the Raiden Shogun a lot, paired with many other characters. I had a smirk on my face but I felt there'd be a bit of copyright sometime so I shook my head decided not to. But I had imagined causing an orb to appear on my chest where I pull out the katana and form a slash to slice reality and such. But meh, I got to come up with my own idea.

"You... seem to be practicing the art of Lightning?"

"Yes I am."

"Pardon the distraction. I'll be leaving in a couple minutes..."

"Have a seat. Completely relax. Do what you need." I said before taking a nice breath. I heard the avian agreeing and they sat on the sofa, and instead lied down and he seems to fit fully on its length and slept. I had a blanket on top of him which made me hear some happy noises (idk how that was possible but whatever) and let him be there.

Now to get back. My main spell would of course be lightning since I love that element whenever I play any online game that has magic, and so I'd be focusing on it a lot but not miss out on practicing my other elements. I'd make sure to be able to practice those too. I cleared my mind again and decided to continue exploring my power, how wide is the skill tree, the limit of skills I can have and such... It's all too exciting! It feels like hours past, but it was only ten minutes in reality. I have discovered and learned a lot of things relating to my powers.

I would like to recall exactly what I have.. so I have Lightning, Creation, Space-Time, Elemental Prowess excluding Earth, and that one last power regarding controlling items I made... perhaps it'll fall into Telekinesis for now. And so, I had no other things to think of, rather than meeting with the mayor. I don't know what to tell them. Maybe they're interested into meeting me personally or knowing my powers? I'll have to just be careful.

The avian is still asleep and I turned on the ceiling fan to keep the room cool and I went out the room silently, not even making a single sound. I told the front desk and asked if it was common occurrence and the front desk lady told me it was common, so I nodded and smiled, and grabbed my breakfast at the resto bar, the same as last night. I saw the same bartender, who's served me the same drink I had last night which was just iced tea. I don't know yet the alcoholic tolerance of this new body, which I have yet to understand and probe to see what even am I, and so I didn't want to explore that yet.

I asked for bacon and eggs, and bacon and eggs I got. It's served fresh right out of the pan with toast on the side. I finished it all up, given I was hungry, and I went on outside, to have a tour myself around the city, wearing only a silver and gold kimono because it seems that's what people wear here. Clothing is Japanese themed, food is a mix of all cultures I know of, and yet it's a whole new place. There are humans, anthros or furries (which ever y'all call them), and other mythical or magical creatures like dwarves or elves and the like.

What fascinates me is the fact that I see people are extremely, extremely well-behaved. When they get food they get the minimum amount of food possible, and would take some mint tea with chamomile to relax, and then go around the block or the park to get rid of the food they just ate, and eat again. I'm finding that interesting. Meanwhile I stumbled upon a kid who seems lost. I helped him up and crossed my arms.

"What's the rush?"

"Help! Save me! Some evil ladies wanna bring me back to the mansion!"

I look forward and seems like maids running towards the boy, in high heels. That... would definitely hurt. How in the world could they do that?

"Young Master!" They panted as they were able to finally make it to where we were, and the kid held onto my left leg.

"I presume you are related to this child?" I asked and they nodded.

"Yes. He's young master Alfys Veronica. He's the son of the mayor."

"Well, I'm surprised." I smiled, and a hand to my chest as I introduced, "My name is Bonnie Williams. I am an otherworlder who was transferred here, and I was to meet the mayor. May I ask to come with you on your way back?"

I think this isn't a coincidence at all. They smiled happily and escorted us all back. I offered that Alfys hold onto my hand as we walk, and Alfys seems to like it. They're all humans, and they all look... natural as I would say. Literally five miles later we went into the mansion and it feels more of a medieval castle than an actual mansion. After going up about ¼ the full length of stairs, I wasn't exhausted but they all were, so I offered they all hold onto me, and we all teleport.

I decided to give them some time to do so, so that they can go do whatever else they need. It saved us a total or thirty minutes. Don't skip leg day they said, but I don't care~ my thighs of thunder don't compare— *ahem*. And at the final step we all reappeared and we moved forward, to enter the Mayor's Office. It's an entire throne room. I'm shocked but only had my eyes wide open, and brows raised but lips shut. I looked around and saw knights standing in order to protect the mayor.

"Welcome, guest. Your name?"

"Je m'appelle Bonnie. C'est un plaisir de vous rencontrer." I spoke French, and smiled All the knights and maids seems to be flustered by the accent, and I can't blame them! The mayor cleared his throat.

"I believe your name is Bonnie... Williams. Correct?"

"Yes."

"Very well. Welcome to Alofia Bay! We hope you enjoy staying here. We do surveys with tourists, visitors and even to countrymen and countrywomen to ensure everyone's needs are met."

I smiled and nodded, bowing my head afterwards. "I do appreciate that. I have never in my life experienced free food and drinks. I felt a lot more... comfortable I should say in this place. Back in my world, I was abused."

When I said that, their faces, all of them, even the knights, showed concern. The maids asked me if I was alright, and I nodded. "I wasn't fed well, wasn't even treated right. But this world... it gave me the freedom I desired so much that I wish to give it back something... anything."

"Bonnie, we are sorry to hear you are abused. We understand, and do not worry. We are here to listen and help you when you need. We hope you do the same."

"I shall treat Alofia Bay my hometown. I have stayed not even an entire day here yet I have decided." I smiled.

They gave me a round of applause and I smiled, and I asked further questions about this world to fill my curiosity. The world is named 'Valoria', a world larger than the solar system with its core a singularity and planets, moons and many celestial objects revolve around it. There are three stars: a red giant and a neutron star, which in turn takes over each day. Four hours here in Valoria is an entire decade on Earth. I felt shocked when I heard that, and the mayor says it's natural. All of Alofia Bay has witnessed the coming and going of transfers or reincarnations, and seems to claim the title of "Starter Town" which the people are happy of having.

More and more questions and answers arise. Technological levels are advanced here. Everyone can have a smartphone, but they all leave it at their homes because outside the house means outdoor activities, not stuffing noses onto the screen, totally acceptable. Computers are also available. Internet speeds reaching lightspeed and all other things not possible with the laws of physics, possible here. I asked for racetracks and there are so many out there; that's to be expected. Earth's cultures and otherworldly cultures exist in this planet too.

Since I heard that people have smartphones, I asked who's the carrier or cellphone service provider here to see if I can avail that and a maid had a sim card ready and it seems to have the package of a lifetime.

The package includes: Unlimited calling and texting global, eternal uncapped data, and many other things too cool to be mentioned.

Oh be still, my heart!
