Chapter 62 - Chapter 61: 1 Year, 6 Months (II)

Month 2, Week 1:

Dear Fredericks.

Today, we met demihuman royalty. It's unbelievable, but their eyes widened as soon as they saw Bie. They even attempted to kill us, if you can believe it! That joke Uris always made, maybe it's true?

Bie already told the two that he was not who they thought he was, noticing that their skin was a similar blue shade as his. They cried, assuming he had lost his horns, which they had, and he simply asserted that he never had horns to begin with.

And then, they started bawling! HAHAHA! I mean, they were lamenting at a fellow royal getting their horns cut off from birth, b*llshitting about how some king consort that mothered him must have removed them to allow him to blend into society.

He was named as the Weapon Breaker Prince on the spot, and those two parted from us, declaring that they would restore fertility to the Divide as well as the demihuman peoples.

Of course, not before glaring at me and Domingo. Heh.

Month 2, Week 3:

Bie was inspecting his Inner World in his spirit body, white dust particles flowing off of his form with every movement he made. A change had occurred, and the once empty slate that was his face formed, or rather, the white that was his eyes became filled with a glossy topaz yellow disc.

He was behind the runic effigy of Smile of the Mountain, within its Bridge realm. The young Gide stood on the gangway, his white particle fingers colliding with two shimmering orbs that he felt a distinct familiarity with. One was smoky, though the amount of haze was barely apparent, and the other flickered with pale neon yellow light. Branches were etched intricately along its smooth surface.

The orbs hung around each other, the latter being bigger. Bie was sure these two were the Remnants of Ulun and Uris, though if that were true, then when had he retrieved them?

Also, did they retain any memories? Bie thought so at first, when he took notice of them about a week ago. They were quite friendly to him, and although all of the Remnants were familiar with him to an extent, going as far as following him around, these two openly floated up to him.

The problem was, he could sense that Ulun's remnant wanted to engulf Uris's. The whispering that he had been suppressing, which simultaneously improved his focus, made it past his mental barrier once again, sharp pangs beating against the back of his skull as they did so.

But at least the pain was accompanied by a gift, and now, he could vaguely guess the intentions of some of the orbs that were Remnants. He couldn't sense any of the intentions of the orbs that made up the trace of Ephemeral magic power within them, instead, they felt like completely blank slates that would follow his orders, should he provide an outlet for them to do so.

Though right now, his focus was predominantly occupied with the dilemma that presented himself. If he allowed the two to fuse, he seriously doubted he could restore their memories, or something like that. To be honest, Bie was only guessing that he could do that, unknowingly clutching at straws.

He opened his eyes, drawing himself out of his Inner World as his brows scrunched up, a pearly white tooth nibbling onto his lower lip. Bie then stood up, travelling out of a floating cot and slowly falling to the ground, arriving where Domingo and Aimee where waiting for him.

Month 4, Week 1:

We met up with those royals again today, the teeny one victoriously displaying something to B, referring to him as his "cousin." Bie looks bothered constantly, though I suppose him being grumpy is better than any long bouts of silence...

Anyways, the guy transformed the sand into dirt that looked a little flaky. I mean, it doesn't amount to much now, sure, but honestly, I need something to believe in these days.

It's kinda hilarious, but now Domingo and me are referred to as B's "retinue." These demihumans are wordier than some of the reports I've had to stumble through, heh. Though, it's not f*cking bad to be seen as a protector rather than a destroyer.

Month 7, Week 3:

Geez, I'm getting so inconsistent nowadays. I can't believe I used to update this memo of mine every week or so. Honestly, each passage has just been increasingly interspersed.

The royals have begun amassing forces, if you can believe it. I bet Uris would've loved to see this, in fact, Bie has been even a little happy nowadays. His playful demeanor has made its entrance once again, and he's been bossing around the teen royal every now and then, since the guy kept bugging him over and over.

Today, he ate a meal for the first time since Ulun and Uris died. It was a simple stew, but it's better than nothing. Rather, I'm more surprised by how overjoyed he was while he ate it, his eyes seemed to be filled with yearning.

Month 9, Week 1:

Look at all these mercenaries! It's enough to make Domingo cry, which has been getting increasingly harder nowadays. You know, seeing rows and rows of streaming lines of armor reflecting the sun, each foot entrenched in muddying ground that looks like an island amidst the sand...

D*mn, I'm a poet. Anyways, I've been making bone weapons for Bie to smash to bits in the upcoming war, because of course that's what he's gonna do. I wonder why that axe of his shatters and regrows; I've never seen anything like it.

Could it be alive?

Year 1, Month 1, Week 3:

Lolololololol, I took your diary! Anyways, I have something to say to the Fredericks, so please forgive this prank of mine.

B's scary! Honestly, I'm sooooo jealous. He has telekinesis, like reallll telekinesis, imagine that! And he gets his own special effects too? Same with Aimee, how come I never get any cool aura stuff or anything.

Oh yeah, the Divide is slowly turning back into the prairie those old stuffy books once depicted it as. What's more, we've taken the castle in the eastern territory, effectively reestablishing demihuman royalty.

B's actually a prince, now! They gave him all sorts of objects, yet weirdly, his eyes did the cross thing again and each and every thing they attempted to give him was dissolved into particles and absorbed into him. I asked if he was merely playing a prank by storing them, however, he looks just as puzzled as me!

So I guess he's the informal prince now, since he doesn't have any of those formal symbols of the station. B simply shrugged it off, and that teen royalty guy was awestruck at his nonchalance.

How overbearing!

Year 1, Month 1, Week 3:

What the hell, that squirrely f*cking son of a sh*tf*cker. How dare he steal from me! I'm going to kick his *ss into high heaven, so he better make sure he watches out on the battlefield.

He has high regeneration anyways, he can take it.
