Chapter 63 - Chapter 62: 1 Year, 6 Months (III)

Year 1, Month 2, Week 4:

Honestly, so many things have changed now. It's getting hard to keep count, honestly, but I think that in a month or so we can kiss this war goodbye! I won't say that I won't miss the fighting, but it'd be nice to experience a long period of peace for once.

Besides, I have a job again. B was getting huffy with the old guy and the teen prince's badgering about "protecting the royal line", so he officially elected Domingo and I as his right- and left-hand people. So, I guess we now have a place to stay?

I wonder why that kid cares all of a sudden, though. I mean, he'd sooner rush to the battlefield than pay attention to those two, or at least enough to change his behavior. It's weird...

Year 1, Month 3, Week 2:

Today, we have officially taken the castle. It seems like only yesterday when we were a ragtag group of three committing havoc fueled by the flames of vengeance. I don't think it'll take long for us to clean up the rest of the forces now, and after that the new monarchy can be officially stated.

Or old? I guess it depends on perspective. Anyways, I should write a little summary of the small things going on, since there were no changes notable enough for me to easily remember. And of course, I don't want to forget any second of this.

B has been wandering through the courts at night, sometimes walking up to that teen, me, or Domingo and giving us strange looks. As if it was someone who was moving on in life, learning how to let go. I tr to get him to tell me why, but all he does is shake his head and go back into meditation, though, at least he shows his face more often. A plus is a plus, yeah?

That teen made three thrones, one for himself, one for the elder, and the last for B. He sweats daily at some floating stone, converting the ruined terrain of the Divide into a lush wonderland ripe with fertility. Honestly, I respect the guy, even though he's a bit of a sycophantic runt.

Domingo has taken to painting, recently? He's pretty good to be honest, and the teen even offered to hang some on the walls of the castle. He even drew me once, and it was pretty lifelike...though I won't ever compliment that jerk. It'll get to his head quicker than B runs into a fight!

Year 1, Month 4, Week 1:

Today is the start of the celebrations, for you know why. We're having a massive buffet, if you can believe it! Though I should recount the final moments of the war, just so I can look back on it.

There was one last confrontation on a field of growing grass, the dusty flakes of sand fading from the land entirely on that day. The remainders of both the scientists and the mages worked together to build a beast known as the Riburrung, and most of them were conjoined into its flesh in sacrifice.

And so, we fought with all our might. The teeth beast I created was armed with all sorts of creations I'd made in preparation, and Domingo was able to access the Abram Overlapping once again. The runty teen made an island out of vines, controlling it in the sky as if it was a lightning laden cloud. Lastly, B used what he referred to as the Cassius Eyes to his utmost, presiding over the battlefield like a reigning lord.

So, with him as support and control, the battle lasted for four nights and three days. Every time he was worn out, he would rest on the floating vine island and recuperate, which is part of why the fight took so long. Honestly, that suppressive force he emitted would keep us from being ripped apart by the frenzy of that mad beast.

I hardly kept my eyes open through the entire thing, though at least my visor hid my tiredness. Domingo was unluckier, his skin was as red as a boiled lobster as his body kept rebuilding itself from the effects of Abram. Only B and the teen were impressive all the way through, ha!

Anyways, we're going to party for the exact amount of time it took to end the battle. Hell, maybe this will even go down in history and become a tradition? I could get used to seeing all these smiling faces yearly, and the walls full of blooming flowers bearing tear shaped fruit.

If only B was happier, today would be perfect. But his smile seems sad...

Year 1, Month 5, Week 3:

Today, we're helping out with the construction of the capital city. We agreed on the name, deciding it to be dubbed as Three Monarch's Gaze. The three are obviously B, Teen, and Elder, and frankly, I refuse to name the last two. It's funnier this way, after all! Or is Domingo just rubbing off on me...

Anyways, I designed this lovely ivory skyscraper. B was puzzled as to how I achieved it, but I won't tell him that I had been working hard on it along with two gifts for him. Oh, I also made Domingo something too, but if I told him now, it would blow his little mind.

Which would result in something very annoying for me. Ugh.

I'm placing down the skyscraper now, though I am looking for that baby blue kid. I haven't seen him all day? What's more, his weird behavior has been intensifying, and I even saw him take slow walks through the constructed city every now and then. Oh, and I saw him sit on one of the thrones to meditate, which he had never done before.

When I give him his gift, I'm seriously gonna ask him what's up. he's being even more moody than Domingo! That's impossible, isn't it?

1 Year, Month 5, Week 4:

F*ck, I can't find him anywhere! This is seriously not funny, B! I get that you have a mischievous streak and that there hasn't been any carnage recently, but you really have to be more considerate to us.

I mean, we're like a family. Uh, well, no...actually, yeah! We've spent a year together as thick as thieves, we've gone through hell and risked life and death, and we've exchanged so many kindnesses. If that's not a family, I don't know what is. I could really not know what that is though, I grew up an orphan, heh.

I might be petty when he shows up out of nowhere, since he wants to just disappear without telling anyone. I might even hang up posters or something if this goes on too long. The only reason why I'm maintaining my calm now is the knowledge that he's one of the strongest people on this continent!

The other ones are all dead or on his side, like me for instance. Domingo is up there, and so is that teeny weeny demihuman. And there's a whole population that would be at his beck and call if he so much as asked!

So whatever you're doing, don't do it alone, B.
