When the snake tries to get underwater, I thrust my hand and coat the snake with my mana. I could feel it had a magic resistance, but it was not enough for my magic. When my mana coats the snake, I move my hand upwards, and suddenly the snake can only struggle as it floats in the air.
"Load the scorpion!"
I can see my men loading up the scorpion on the ship and aiming it at the giant snake. Above the snake, I can see Alduin roasting the snake with its breath. It was not much because of how young he is, but what is the saying again? Yes, die from a thousand cuts. To the side, I can see Melisandre clasping her hand together and praying.
However, it was not a normal prayer. I can see a fireball appear around her and fly at the snake. When the fireball hits the target, it explodes. Just like Alduin's dragon breath, it did not do much, but Melisandre hit at one point, and I could see it was working as a crack appeared on the snake's scale.
"Fire!"
The bolt of the scorpion flew at the snake and hit it right in the head. The bolt pierced through the snake, and I could see it thrashing for a minute before suddenly it went still. I wait for a few seconds before putting it on the ship.
"That was easy."
I look at the corpse in front of me with satisfaction and then look at Melisandre before saying.
"I must say that this is rather easy and I know that this is not over. Tell me more about the Sea Dragon."
Melisandre smiled at me before saying.
"You are correct, your highness. The trial is not over. Sea Dragon is a pack creature. Unlike dragons who are mighty and hard to kill, Sea Dragons have power in numbers and they hunt in packs."
"Balls! Take out that bolt and prepare to fight! Two more are coming!"
After Melisandre says that, I spread my mana once more, and I can feel two creatures coming at us. After waiting for a few seconds, I see two snakes appear on the ship's left side. When they appear, I hold their body using my magic and let them float in the air not too far away from the ship.
"Attack them! Don't waste the scorpion bolt! Use your sword and spear."
At my command, my men use a lasso to climb at the Sea Dragons in front of them and start stabbing. The one who is climbing is the one holding a sword and knife, while the one holding the spear is stabbing from the edge of the ship.
I grit my teeth as I can feel the Sea Dragons try their hardest to get away from my gravity hold. Then, I widen my eyes when I see them open their mouths.
"No you dont!"
I thrust my left hand forward and clenched my fist. Then, I focused more of my mana on my hold and ensured the serpent did not spit some of its venoms on my men.
"Be careful of their venom! They are leaking!"
One of my men who was mounting the snake and stabbed the eye of the Sea Dragon with his sword shouted at his fellow seaman. I cannot stop the venom from dripping out of their mouth because I'm too focused on making sure the Sea Dragons did not spit it on the ship and them.
The fight lasted for ten minutes before the Sea Dragon stopped moving. I let my men take out all the arrows and spears stuck on the Sea Dragon before dumping the corpse into the ocean. However, before I could do that, Melisandre put her hand on my shoulder.
"Your highness, hold on a moment."
"Hmmm? What is it? Does this corpse have some value?"
"Of course! That scale alone is something you can use to equip your men with very durable armor and its fang can be used as a knife or a short sword. You can harvest its poison if you want to create something."
That is a good point. I look at my men and say.
"We need to harvest the Sea Dragon. Release the anchor, we will stay here for the time being."
I then look at Melisandre once more and say.
"Is there anything else?"
"The meat. Your dragon can eat them and store the rest of them."
"Can you even feed them to Alduin?"
I look at my familiar and see him looking at the meat in interest. He even sniffed some of them before taking a bite of it.
"GRAAA!"
He roared a little before devouring a massive chunk of the meat. Well, it looks like he likes it.
"Alright."
~Sometimes later~
The captain, Melisandre, and I sat down in the meeting room while looking at the map Melisandre drew for me.
"This is the map Lord R'hllor showed me. This part right is something that we need to watch out for."
She points her finger at the strait between the two islands.
"This is the only strait that we can safely cross as we cannot use the southern path. Furthermore, it was too narrow from all the rock spewed from the volcano of Valyria. Therefore, I did not recommend using this path."
I can see the captain of the ship nod his head. That means he agrees with Melisandre.
"Aye. We did not need to increase the risk of getting attacked on a narrow path Especially when the one attacking us came from underwater."
"That's right. This place is filled with Sea Dragons as the city breeding the Sea Dragon is located in this area."
I nod my head.
"Got it. We will use the northern path. What can you tell us about this area?"
"Other than it will be filled with Sea Dragon, there is nothing else that Lord R'hllor shows me. However, he warned me not to visit the city of Oros, the city on the northern side of the strait, and the city of Tyria on the southern part of the strait. He warned me that there will be some people using foul magic that can fight your highness toe-to-toe."
I frown a little when I hear Melisandre tell me that even her god says foul magic is used in these two cities. What kind of foul magic do they use? Blood Magic? Even she uses it before coming to Lunaria. Necromancy? Maybe.
"Very well. We will not visit those two cities. Anything else?"
"When we see a Dragon Lighthouse, we will take south where we will see our destination in the east after we see the statue of Dragon Roaring to the sky."
Does Valyria use dragons as their everyday shape? Do they have a dragon fetish or something? Maybe they do. Even my father has that fetish and takes it to the extreme.
"I see. That is good then. For now, we will rest and I need to enchant more of our weapons. It takes us too long to kill the Sea Dragons. We need something that can kill them faster so we did not get overwhelmed by their number. If they have the quantity we need the quality to counter it."
