|Jon Arryn - Hand of the King and Lord of the Eyrie|
"Are you out of your mind?! Do you know what kind of problem you get us into?!"
"I do what the Gods tell me to do! I'm doing the work of God! I need to eradicate all the witches that have tainted our land! I need to kill all the witches who come to our land."
"ARGH!"
I really want to strangle him, but it will cause more problems than it's worth.
"As the Hand of King, I order you and your men to retreat back home. We did not need this kind of problem right now."
"No. You can't order me. The only person who can order me to cancel this crusade is the King with the agreement of all Small Council members."
"DAMMIT!"
It will take more time, the time I did not have. Stannis is in Dragonstone, Renly in Storm's End, and Varys is Lunaria. I did not have time to gather all of them to stop this madness. I don't want to do this, but it looks like I did not have any choices.
"Captain, I need you and your men stationed in front of the gate. Kill any Faith Militant who dares to approach the gate."
"Yes, sir!"
"You can't do that! We are the warriors of the Gods! Heretic! Heretic!"
I ignore the fat High Septon and walk toward the Gate of the Oldtown city. As I got closer, I was greeted by the Lord of Hightower himself, Lord Leyton Hightower.
"Welcome to Oldtown, Lord Arryn."
"Thank you, Lord Leyton."
"Oh? What for?"
"Thank you for kicking them out of your city. If one of the healers inside your city died, Lunaria will declare war against us."
"Don't mention it, my lord. It was the right thing to do. The so-called Warrior of the Gods causes nothing but trouble inside the city that I need to take care of myself. They do whatever they want and even dare to hit one of my citizens without them doing anything wrong and when they kill one of the smallfolk for 'getting in the way of their holy duty' I know I need to kick them out."
"They kill someone?! Is it one of the healers?!"
"No. Fortunately, no. It was one of the smallfolk protecting them."
"Ah, I see. I already heard about that news. I thought they killed another one."
"They almost killed another one but because of my intervention, they only cut the poor woman's arm. Lucky for us, the healer can attach the woman's arm back with enough effort and what they called potions."
"They can do that?"
"Aye. I would not believe myself if not for I witnessed it with my own eyes."
That makes them even more important! We cannot let that kind of healer become our enemy. I shudder thinking of them as our enemy. Fighting a large number of enemies is bad but fighting against an enemy that cannot be killed is even worse.
"Then please take me to the place where the healer stays. I need to talk to them."
"Of course, please come this way."
I mount the horse given to me by one of the soldiers, and we ride to the place where the healer stays. When we arrived, I could see many people gathering around the area. They speak to each other with a smile on their face.
From what I hear, they are thankful for what the healer does to them. Among the people is the Maester from the Citadel.
"There are Maesters here."
"Aye. They decide to help the healer in giving the people the cure and try to learn under them. The healer from Lunaria is even more knowledgeable than many Maesters in medicine and disease."
"I see."
I walk toward the healer who just finished healing one of the smallfolk and says.
"Excuse me but can I talk to one of you for a second?"
The masked person looked at me for a few seconds before nodding.
"Sure. You can go to the hospital behind me. I will be there in a few minutes. I need to clean myself before I can get inside the hospital. Please follow the instructions of the healer in the hospital, they will make sure you do not have anything that can make the other sick."
"Of course, healer."
I walk toward the building behind the healer and let another healer inside, waving his staff in hand. After waiting a minute, the healer led me to a guest room, where he served me a plate of snacks and some wine.
"Sorry to make you wait, Lord Arryn."
I look at the door, and to my surprise, a woman walks inside the room.
"I'm the leader of this Healer Squat. My name is Natalia Blurias but you can call me Natalia."
"Then please call me Jon."
She nodded her head and sat on the chair in the opposite direction of me.
"So, what can I do for you?"
"I need you to send a direct letter to King Viserys saying that I will handle your protection directly and he does not need to worry about your safety."
"I can do that."
I look at her with a shocked expression.
"Just like that?"
"Just like that. What? Do you think I will take advantage of this situation?"
"Truthfully? Yes."
"I'm a healer, Jon. I'm doing this for free and because my King asked me to do it. I will not take advantage of you. The payment from the people who come to us is enough for us."
"Payment? I thought you said you are doing this for free."
"Yes. However, we will not reject the gift given to us by the people we heal. Some of them give us gold, some of them give us food and some of them even give us cattle."
"Ah, I see."
I guess that makes sense. Oldtown is the biggest port town in Reach and one of the biggest market hubs in the entire Westeros. There are many wealthy merchants in this place.
"Thank you for your understanding, Healer Blurias."
"Think nothing of it, Lord Arryn. Both of us want peace."
I was just about to say something, but before I could say it, the door opened up, and I could see the healer who greeted me standing there.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Madam Natalia. There is emergency news."
"What is it?"
"The Faith Militant has breached the northern gate. It looks like the guard place there is another zealot and opens the gate for them."
"Dammit!"
I quickly get up from the chair and quickly get out of the room. The last thing I hear from the healer is that they are talking about a Black Dog or something. Why do they talk about animals?
