|Ferrego Antaryon - Sealord of Braavos|
"How is it?"
"We manage to push all the sick to the edge of the city, my lord. We are lucky the Lunaria informed us about this plague. If they did not warn us about it, we would be doomed just like Myr and Volantis."
I nod my head and release a relief breath from my mouth. Black Death is the name the Healer of Lunaria gave for this plague, and I cannot help but agree with his description. All the corpses that lie on the streets of Braavos have one thing in common.
Their hands, nose, and legs blacken.
This plague did not discriminate between high-born or low-born people. Even the wealthiest person in Braavos died from this plague.
"How many people have died?"
"As far as we know, at least five hundred have died in the past five days."
"That's what we know, right?"
"Unfortunately, yes."
I release another tired sigh and look out the window of my office. Five hundred people have died. It was the number that we knew of. That means it was coming from the more prosperous part of the city.
There will be at least a couple of thousand dead people out there. That does not include the village outside Braavos.
"We hope Lunaria is willing to send their healer here."
"We already sent a letter to Lunaria asking for aid, and they responded saying that they will come after taking care of Lunaria."
I nod my head and take a sip of wine. When the plague is only at the beginning, Lunaria takes back all of their healers. The letter says that King Viserys wants to teach them about this plague to all of his healers before sending them back here.
So far, Lunaria has not sent their healer here yet. But, lucky for us, they are still willing to trade some food with us and even willing to sell them at lower prices for a few years.
That is one of the fortune things, I guess.
"My lord!"
I snap from my thoughts when my office door is slammed open, and I can see one of the servants standing there panting.
"What is it?"
"T-They come!"
"Who?! Who is coming?!"
"The Lunaria! T-They bring the healer here!"
"Really?!"
I stand from my seat and look at the servant with a shocked expression.
"Yes! They should be preparing to land right now."
"Good! Then let's welcome them! Prepare my horse! I need to get there immediately!"
"Yes!"
I quickly ran out of my office and got out of the palace.
~A few minutes later~
I unmount my horse and see a massive ship with many people gathering around it. I can see a group of people getting out of the ship. They are wearing a dark robe and dark cloak over their shoulders. I can see them wearing a mask with the shape of a bird beak.
"Ah, you are here, Sealord Ferrago."
"And you are?"
"We are the healer being sent here to prevent the spreading of the Black Death."
"What clothes are you wearing?"
I glare at the servant who is coming with us. I don't care what kind of costume they are wearing; as long as they are a healer coming from Lunaria, I will accept them. However, I will not let a servant make the healer we need to get back home because of his stupid question.
"Silence! You should apologize, boy!"
"Ah, you did not need to punish him, Sealord. This is a special costume His Majesty created for us who is dealing with Black Death."
"I see. May I ask for some of those costumes?"
"I'm sorry, Sealord, but His Majesty is the only one who can make this costume. There is a certain mystic area where only he can do it."
"Ah, I see. Shame."
That means this costume is made using magic, huh? I guess I personally need to ask King Viserys for this costume.
"Anyway, please follow me. I will prepare the place for your healing."
"Please wait a moment, Sealord. We need to do something first."
"Huh?"
One of the masked healers took out staff from his back and pointed it at me. My guard quickly walked in front of me, but I decided to hold them back. I trust the healer in front of me, and I trust Lunaria for not sending me an assassin to kill me.
I can see my body glow a little. I can see the others also start to glow. After a few seconds, the healer nods his head and says.
"You are good to go, Sealord. You are as healthy as you were before. Just spend less time drinking, okay?"
"Thank you, healer. Your words help me sleep at night."
"You are welcome. Sadly, your servant is not."
"Pardon me?"
The healer looked at my servant, who was nervous at his words.
"Do you guys have a fever? Headaches? And sudden weakness while working?"
I can see them hesitate for a few seconds before nodding their head.
"Then you have the Black Death. Lucky for you, you guys are at the early stage and easy to heal. Please follow the healer holding a white staff. They are the apprentice, and they can take care of you guys."
My servants quickly nod their heads and go to the healer near the ship.
"Thank you for helping us, healer."
"You can thank his majesty for his quick thinking and knowledge. If not for him, we will be overwhelmed by the plague."
"I will thank him personally when this is over. Is there anything I can do?"
"Yes. Can you gather these ingredients? Those are the ingredients needed to cure the Black Death. The potion can cure the early and mid-stage of the plague."
I take the piece of paper and read it. That is easy enough. There is not a single rare ingredient here. I nod my head and say.
"They will be delivered to your place."
"Good. Now, if you excuse me, I have a lot of patience to help."
