As I looked out of the window into the darkness of space, I couldn't help but admire the countless stars shining far away.
No matter where you looked- the stars always shine brightly, far, far away.
Except for one area.
"So that's it huh.."
I asked myself a rhetorical question.
Right in the direction I was looking at was a black hole, code named Zenus.
Me and my crew were highly experienced Astronauts sent to investigate strange activity that occurred next to the great devourer of matter.
"Fascinating, isn't it?"
A person behind me asked, it was Michael, My crew's secondary navigator.
"Always is, no matter how many times I see it."
I replied slowly, as my mind drifted into the first time I ventured out to space, a loud boom resounded through the spaceship.
"Warning- Main Engine has been hit by a foreign object and is incapable of functioning."
Immediately, me and Michael sprinted towards the main control room without exchanging any words.
As we burst through the doors, we came across another member of my crew- Sophien.
Sophie was a highly experienced Astrogeologist- a profession that has recently became popular with the increasing amounts of strange asteroids containing precious materials emerging out of nowhere.
"What were we hit by?!"
I quickly asked, I already knew what I had to confirm- which was whether we are still in danger of being hit- or if the strike was just a product of bad luck.
"I have no idea! The radar isn't showing anything!"
Sohpien responded with panic in her voice- She had been watching the radar for hours! There is no way something snuck past her!
"Damnit, what are the damages?"
I quickly tried to regain control of the situation.
"Other than the main engine that died, or communication orb has been damaged, I can't confirm whether it can still function."
Michael responded as he kept his eyes on a screen, a part of which was red with some yellow and blue areas.
"Great, Where's Arnold?!"
Arnold was our crew's technician, he was our only hope when it came to confirming the communication orb's status.
"He went to get his tools from the... Main engine Core room!"
Sophien responded with slight hesitation in her voice.
*Boom*
"Warning- Outer shell has been damaged. "
"Damnit! We have to do something!"
My mind raced as I tried to think of a solution.
"Can we use the secondary engine for a Wormhole Travel?"
I asked Michael.
"It could work! What a brilliant idea Capta-"
*BOOM*
"Warning- Secondary Engine has been hit by a foreign object and is incapable of functioning."
"God fucking damn it!"
As I quickly ran to the other side of the room where the emergency button was, I hesitated whether I should press it or not.
The Emergency button would trigger something known as a "Great Sacrifice" which would disconnect the control room from the rest of the ship and apply grade 5 camouflage on it while also making it slowly move forward to the nearest space station.
However, Camouflage won't affect asteroids.
If the radar has malfunctioned and we are in fact in an asteroid storm, our death would be guaranteed.
"No time for hesitation!"
I just pressed it.
I thought of my friends, of my parents who were in a coma- and of my girlfriend.
I had to take this chance.
"Emergency button pressed, control room has Been disconnected from the rest of the ship.
As The back walls were replaced with Pressure proof glass, we were slowly distancing ourselves from the rest of the ship.
As we slowly got further away, we could finally see what hit us.
To my horror, I saw a massive... Thing. Wrapped around the spaceship.
It looked like a snake with tentacles, and it's tentacles would continously hit the ship.
But more importantly, we were saved! The creature would never be able to see us.
I was ecstatic, however, to my horror, I realized I made a terrible mistake.
"Warning- Gravitational force in the area is increasing."
The control room was advancing right into the black hole.
As Gravity pulled us faster and faster into out miserable end, I fell on my knees.
"I am sorry, Mom, Dad, Arlina."
In my last moments, I could only think of my loved ones.
"Warning- Gravitatinal force in the area has experienced a tremendous incre-"
*Whoosh*
*BOOM*
---------‐--------
In a dark world, In an unknown realm.
A black moon covered the blue night sky, inflicting great horror upon the weak, and a sense of danger to the strong.
In an abandoned temple, a Massive creature, semi-transperant and silver, opened its eyes, revealing 2 golden balls of light.
"A great change has been brought to our plane."
It Exclaimed, before closing its eyes and going back to sleep.
