The sun comes down and the night comes, the ground shakes and bulges, and rats emerge from the farm ground and eat the vegetables.
When they take a bite, they notice the vegetable's hard consistency and spit out what they eat.
In the evening when the sun was still to set Roswald digs up all the vegetables from the farm and planted fake ones.
He hides the remaining cows and goats in the tavern, painting the walls with the unnamed old potion, which makes the rats avoid the tavern due to its rotten smell.
The rats became enraged and wreaked havoc throughout the area, causing them to unwind their guard.
Roswald starts moving, slaying the rats one by one.
The rats continued to swarm at him from all directions, engulfing his entire body.
He struggled for a moment, then chanted a spell as fire appear on his palm, scattering the rats all over the ground, killing some, and fleeing four.
In the early afternoon after Roswald headed out on a quest, Geld went to the village chief's house.
When he arrived at the village chief's residence, he was greeted by a butler standing in front of the gate.
Mario was stuck in his office, working nonstop day and night for a week, solving all of the village's problems and complaints.
The butler arrives at the door and says after knocking three times, "Milord, the guild master has arrived."
"Come in..." Mario responded.
"Sir Geld..." The butler said, opening the door of the office.
Geld enters and is perplexed when he saw him with a pile of papers on the table in front of him.
"Are you okay?" Geld uttered.
Mario placed the paper in his hand and stated, "Do you think I'm okay? What are you here for?"
"Oh, I almost forgot why I'm here... I need to talk to you about something."
Mario rose from his table chair and takes a seat on the couch, saying, "Don't stand there, take a seat."
"Oh, right," Geld responded and seated.
Mario reaches for the tea on the table and inquires, "What do you need?"
"We need your help with a minor matter," Geld said with a stern look on his face.
Mario take sipped his tea and said, "Care to explain?"
"Oh, it's nothing much we just need you the village chief's permission to put more guards around the village for the villager's safety." Geld elaborated on his intentions.
"I see," Mario mutter, leaning his back on the couch, thinking for a while in silence.
"Is that all you need? You don't have to get permission from me for that, just do what you want... After all, it is for the villager's safety, I have no objection to that." He added.
"Oh, then will do that, thank you... I'm just here to inform you, you are the chief of this village after all." Geld stated.
"I see... is that all, I have more work to do..." Mario said.
"Oh, HAHA... I see that then I'll go." Geld said with a laugh and stands from his seat.
"Thank you for understanding... will just inform me of the situation from time to time and tell me if there's something you need," Mario stated with a calm smile on his face as he wave his hand.
"Alright..." Geld said with his back facing Mario, exiting the office.
Rather than chasing the rat monsters that escape, Roswald gathered all of the rodent carcasses and incinerated them all at once.
He erects another trap for the remaining rat monsters to come and then he walks to the tavern to see if the cows and goats are safe.
He hid inside the tavern and awaited their arrival.
The ground began to shake like an earthquake once again at exactly midnight at one.
He uses his wide vision to look far.
The rat monsters who managed to flee reappeared, and behind them a wolfman with a large build and a strong aura appeared.
The rats gathered around it, intending to protect him from behind them when they rose from the ground the first thing they did is search for their comrade's body but find nothing.
The wolfman tried to sniff out their scent but nothing could smelt from the air and ground because of the powder-erasing scent Roswald spread through the air.
He hides and waited patiently for the monsters to let their guards completely, three rat monsters found the traps he had placed in the dirt.
They approach it with trepidation, accidentally one of their comrades stomps on the trap and flares erupt completely burning five of them.
The wolfman roared furiously as he saw his companions in fire, he shouted, "Show yourself human and fight me!"
The farm animals were frightened by the loud roaring, they all panicked and screams, that Roswald's hiding place was discovered.
Now that his location had been revealed, he decided to come out.
He charges at the wolf man in silence and when he is nearer he bares his sword and swings but the wolf man evades right away, clashing its claws on his sword.
The wolfman clenched his teeth and said with enrage eyes,
"You finally showed yourself human! How dare you kill my companions?! I'll tear you to pieces!"
The two exchange blows fiercely until the wolfman was cornered on the farm walls facing east.
Roswald moved back by 1 meter as he focused his sword on the wolf man who was cornered.
His sword began to emit fire, as it grew, he swung it cleanly, sending a large flare into the air, when it struck the target, the ground was scorched, leaving a sizable hole.
Sadly, the wolf man managed to avoid the attack, but his body was so badly hurt that he was unable to stand on his feet.
The sight of their leader, the wolf man, crouching on the ground as blood spurts from his body sends the rat monster's fleeing in a quaking panic.
They became frozen in place when Roswald scowled in their direction, rendering them immobile. He then charged towards them and slashed each one by one.
The wolfman was so incensed by what he saw that he struggled mightily to rise, but he was helpless, all he could do was watch as his companions perished before him.
("Is that all of them?)
"You pesky human... how dare you kill my comrades? We didn't even do anything to anger you." the wolfman said with resentment.
"Hm... you say you have done nothing when you monsters killed humans for you to eat... how insolent of you to say..." Roswald said vex, walking towards the wolf man holding his sword with the blood of the wolf man's brethren.
"Heh, are you gonna kill me? Well, you humans are...." The wolfman said as he take his last breath.
("Looks like he died...")
Seeing the wolf man's life end Roswald drags his body together with the monster rat's ashes and burns him.
After that, he collapses to the ground closing his eyes in exhaustion, as the fire disperses and smoke vanishes into the air.
The morning comes and Rook the old framer arrives to see his farm in a cluttered state, he was in shock and almost had a heart attack, tears flow down his cheeks as he saw his farm.
"What has become of my farm?" he said in anguish, kneeling on the ground.
By that time Roswald was already back in the inn resting comfortably on the bed.
Della seeing him rest comfortably comes downstairs quietly to not disturb him.
"Del, what's wrong? your spacing out..." Ramy asked with concern.
"Um... Mister Roswald gives me a bag of money, he said to buy what I want but I don't know what exactly to buy," she said in disconcertment.
"What? is that what you worry about? where did Sir Roswald go?" Ramy asks.
"He's asleep upstairs..." She responded.
"Then, let's go out with me the two of us," Ramy said cheerfully.
"Is that alright?" She asks timidly.
"Yeah... mom, the dad, was gonna go out for a bit," Ramy yelled energetically.
"What? wait Ramy..." Balder said with a troubled state.
"Let's go..." Ramy said as she drags along Della out of the inn.
They ran happily through the streets, holding hands, and people glanced as they passed by.
And in about five minutes of going through the street, they arrive at Victoria's boutique, a well-known clothing and accessory store in the village, after a long run.
"At long last..." Ramy said, catching her breath.
"It's big and beautiful, and it's sparkling," Della said, in awe looking at the shop's window.
"I know, right? let's go in..." Ramy said, dragging Della by the hand.
As soon as they walked in, a saleswoman greeted them in service,
"What would you like to buy, ladies?"
Della was concerned about the unexpected approach. Ramy stated calmly,
"We'd like to see the ledger and make our decision from there."
"Do the two of you be the ones wearing..."
"Not just her,"
"I see, please take a seat over there while I get the ledger for you?"
Della shivered and clutched her hand.
Ramy then asked, holding her shivering body,
"Are you okay? you look pale..."
She slapped Ramy's hand, which surprised her.
Ramy was astounded, but when she saw her apologetic expression, she said,
"It's okay, I'm here, no one will harm you."
"Ladies, here's the ledger. Please call me if you've decided what to buy," the saleswoman said, startling the two of them with her sudden appearance.
"Thank you very much, we will..." Ramy smiles awkwardly.
To be continued...
