Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The air between them became gloomy, Della moves closer to Ramy and said,

"I'm sorry for slapping your hand away, does it hurt?" with a worried look.

Ramy looked at her, relieved, and cheerfully said,

"No, not anymore... Look, Della, this one suit you."

Della was flabbergasted by how Ramy changed the topic that she can't help but smile.

They happily look at the ledger with many different styles of clothes when someone came in and disrupted their peaceful time.

A noble lady and her two minions enter the store demandingly and belittle the saleswoman.

"Welcome my lady, would you like to look at the ledger or buy the ones on display?" the saleswoman said.

"Hmph, the dresses here are so cheap and disgusting... they don't even compare to the capital, I wonder why my aunt like them here." the noble lady said in incitement.

Ramy seeing the situation frowned glaring at the noble lady causing the scene, the minions saw his glare and approaches both of them.

"How dare you glare at our lady rose that way?" the two minions said in unison.

Della got scared and hides behind Ramy.

"What do you mean? I wasn't glaring... I was looking at the painting behind her." Ramy said calmly.

"Hm? What's this? a peasant? how dare you come here?!" The noble lady stated as she walks in front of them.

Ramy became enraged by what she heard and retaliated,

"Peasant?! Then tell me, what is an ugly person like you doing here?" with a deep voice.

"What did you say?!" the enraged noble lady demanded.

"I asked, what is an ugly person like you doing here?" Ramy retorted angrily and provocatively.

Her minion intervenes and says,

"What did you say to our lady? ugly? You're just a peasant, do you have any idea who this person is?"

Ramy stared at her, emotionless, and said,

"No, I've never met her."

Glitters flew through the air as her minions brought out a fancy red chair. Then they all said in unison,

"Let us tell you, this is Lady Flore, the first daughter of Lord Monic, a respected baron from the north. Show some respect." kneeling on the floor with both hands horizontally facing each other.

The others and the saleswomen were all weirded out and wanted to laugh at their maneuver.

"And, what is a lady like yourself doing in our humble village?" Ramy responded with a disinterested look on her face.

"How rude!" The two minions yelled in unison.

"What does it have to do with us? You're a lady, so what? Let's go, Del... what a way to ruin the mood." Ramy said as she drag Della away.

Then, out of nowhere, minion A pulled Ramy's hair, and Della was dragged along with her, causing her to fall to the floor.

Ramy was so enraged that she pulled back minion A's hair and the fight started.

They scratched each other's faces and pulled each other's hair violently without pausing.

People around the shop gathered and started gossiping after catching a glimpse of them.

Flore yelled, "Hold her down!"

"Yes, lady!" Minion B responded, charging at Ramy to restrain her, but she was blown away by Ramy's powerful force.

The shop was in disarray, and the situation was escalating. More people had gathered, and the store was packed.

Della trembled in fear as she saw the crowd, her breathing became labored, and she clutched her chest tightly until she passed out.

Saleswoman A saw that she had fainted and rushed toward her and holds her up.

She noticed Della wasn't breathing as she held her, so she yelled,

"Someone help! The child has stopped breathing!"

People just stand around and gossip, doing nothing to help.

"What's with all the commotion?!" exclaimed the shop's manager as he entered the store.

The fight came to an end, and everyone who had been chatting and making a commotion fell silent.

"What happened?" asks the shop manager with a stern face.

"S-sir, t-this child has stopped breathing, w-what do we do?" asked saleswoman A in a panic.

"Lay her down," said the shop manager.

Ramy stood up and looked around the crowd before noticing Della unconscious on the ground.

"Del! What happened?" she exclaimed as she ran up to her.

"What's with the crowd, SCRAM?! This isn't a theatre!" snarled the shop manager, sending everyone fleeing in terror.

The shop manager stroked Ramy's sobbing head and murmured soothingly,

"Are you the child's companion? Don't worry, she'll be fine, trust me," the shop manager says confidently with a gentle voice.

Ramy nodded in agreement, but her grief and anxiety couldn't be brushed away.

She was angry at herself for not noticing the problem, she clenched her fist tightly so that it bled, blaming herself for what had happened.

He placed his arm on Della's chest, a gentle light emanating from his hand like a bunch of thread floating in the air followed by a powerful force that shivered the people nearby.

The force gathered in his palm was released onto Della's chest, creating electricity comparable to that of a defibrillator.

He repeats it several times, and Della coughed and resumed breathing after a minute.

Ramy was relieved to see her breathing again and thanked the shop manager, bowing her head.

"Thank you so much for saving Del," she sobbed.

"Is the child's name Della? I'm glad she's okay... I called someone to take her to the hospital to be examined in case there are any other issues," he reassured.

"Yes... Thank you, uhm, may I ask your name?" Ramy said.

"My name is Stevan, the shop owner, but you can call me Van, haha... Oh, it looks like they've arrived. Take care, miss," he said, cheerfully as he walk away.

"Yes, Sir Van, thank you very much," Ramy said bowing her head once again in appreciation.

"You're welcome," he said, waving his hand.

Della was carried into the carriage by man A and placed on the secured seat.

"Please get on the carriage, we're leaving right now," the coachman said.

"Y-yes..." Ramy responded.

As soon as she boarded the carriage, they right away made their way to the clinic and as they arrive they are greeted by the mage doctor.

Della was carried on the bed, and the doctor began to examine her body.

"There's no problem with her physically, the problem is inside of her... She's mentally ill, she can stay here, but I recommend you take her with you so she doesn't get confused and scared," the mage doctor explained as he examined her.

"I see... Yes," Ramy responded.

"Should I arrange for a carriage for you?" the mage doctor asks.

"Please, yes... Thank you."

The mage doctor summons someone to arrange for a carriage, and as soon as it arrives, they board and return to the inn.

Ramy's thoughts wandered back, and as soon as they arrived, she shut herself away in her room, leaving Della by man A carrying her inside.

Her parents were concerned about her and were astounded when someone came in carrying Della in his arm unconscious and asked,

"What should I do with her?"

While Balder was perplexed, his wife intervenes and responds,

"Please come this way."

They proceeded up the stairs, passing Roswald on the way.

"What happened to her?" he inquired, with his face solemn.

"Are you the child's guardian?" man A inquired, calmly.

"I am, how come she is unconscious?" Roswald asks in a threatening voice.

"T-the mage doctor said she'd be fine when she awoke... I'm not sure, but you should ask this child's companion... " man A said, trembling in fear.

"Hand me the child, and you can go," he said coldly as he took the child in his arms.

"Y-yes... Then I'll leave right now." man A said and quickly runs out of the inn.

Solana walk near him and said, "I'll talk to Ramy about what happened... I apologize."

"It's okay... it's also my fault," he said.

"Don't be too hard on yourself... you're this child's guardian, am I right?" Solana said with empathy in her eyes.

"No, I am not," he said, coldly.

"Are you certain you're not?" Solana asks with a smile.

"That's right," he responded with little hesitation.

"But you're her guardian, aren't you? I'll be heading down, and you should stay by her side." Solana said and retreated.

Roswald was unable to speak back a word. He had no idea he was Della's guardian in the eyes of many people.

He enters the room and gently places her on the bed.

He gave her a sympathetic look before closing the window, he sat down on a chair and began to lose in his thought.

He had no idea the child he found in the forest would become his companion.

Ramy's mother calmly knocked on the door and called her name, but she couldn't hear her mother's voice from outside.

She kept clenching her fists and crying, blood dropping on the floor one by one.

As she was not responding for long, her father enters and smashes the door with an axe.

She had forgotten to wipe her tears away because she was so taken aback by what her parents had done.

Her mother approached her and tenderly took her hand in hers.

"Can you tell your mother what happened while the two of you were out shopping, and why are you blaming yourself?" she inquired.

"What are you keeping silent for? Are you that scared?" her father inquired bluntly, unaware of the situation, Ramy remained silent and refused to speak.

"Shut up! Do you think I'm terrified? Of course not, that b**ch, that b**tard of a b**ch," she snarled at her father.

Her mother was surprised and slapped her across the face, causing her to snort.

"What are you cursing for? You, you're supposed to be her father. Can't you detect the mood? GET OUT!" she yelled.

She and her father were terrified that they lose their wits.

"Y-yes, then, good luck.... I'll be leaving now," her father said, leaving her alone with her mother.

Her mother regained her composure and inquired once more,

"Tell me about what happened..."
