"Now that you've seen what we've accomplished in this building so far, what do you think?" Old Sullivan said, imitating the survey personnel that does their job at the end of tours or other monetized entertainment experiences.
"You really considered everything, haven't you, grandpa?" Alexander could only say in admiration for how much his grandfather's resourcefulness and innovation have accomplished.
The past-future Creed Pictures wasn't really a successful business to brag about but it wasn't bad in its own right with great stability being a small production company.
It was a testament to old Sullivan's abilities when he was only working with mediocre film partners. Now that Alexander has given the old man the successful properties and high-potential franchise resources to work with, it made sense that the stability would skyrocket to flourish.
The multi-company structure of the Creed Entertainment within the tentatively named CREED building is already quite a feat on its own.
"But... would it be okay to do a singular management structure in all those companies?" Alexander's question was if it really could be done by them now. He has seen a lot of precedents in which that kind of business structure would work but he wasn't sure if they did it in the way that his old grandfather did.
"It would be fine. I've just compartmentalized the redundancies and gave a strategic positioning to all of them." Sullivan was quite proud of the feasibility.
"If we put market research into an example, then there's a major department in charge of that whilst that department would have subdivisions to cater to the specific needs of our corresponding companies."
"So the same could be translated to other departments as well." Alexander understood that part of the matter and was already quite on board with how things would be going.
If they could keep track of that kind of model as the companies grow to their greater heights, then the management part of it would be made much simpler.
Unlike how the big corporation would be annexing specialized industry companies to fit their needs and then slowly integrating them, Creed Entertainment is already an integration of everything and would be quite conducive for the development of everything.
For a franchise and entertainment company, it is already quite enviable for anyone else to know how much of a headstart they are at.
It had to be said that the I.P. franchise structure is still in its infancy at this time period with Lucasfilm and Disney at the helm of it.
Creed Entertainment would have its edge over the other Majors that are still quite satisfied with only meddling in film and television.
The company structure was great already but Alexander still has his worries with the building compartmentalization itself. "Would it be okay for Creed merchandising to be compounded in one floor like that though? Toys, costumes, and the authorization matters wouldn't be just confined or be able to fit on one floor. How could it even work if the three of them share just one?"
"Those merchandising matters are just the creative brains of the operation, so that spacious third floor should be enough." Sullivan appeased. "The bulk work could be done by our little factory in China while the outsource work would still work if quality managers are as strict as always."
"For the marketization and distribution matters, it would be enough to leave it for the fifth and sixth floor teams."
It would seem that the stabilization that old Sullivan had done for Creed Toys has made its way to the other ventures as well.
"What about our future but planned expansion to other fields though?" Alexander added. "This building won't be able to fit them and animation isn't even here."
"The new ventures would be handled when they are necessary." Sullivan found it best to handle what they have at the moment and not worry about things that haven't been tackled yet. "Besides, we could buy up the adjacent buildings in this Burbankan area when it is finally a necessity to have one."
"As for Creed Animations, well..." The old Creed lead his grandson to a back building window and pointed. "... that building also happens to be part of an 8 million dollar deal when I bought the place."
Alexander could only be shocked as a much wider and more spaceous building was what came to his view. Perhaps the relative size of the window had hyped the size up but it was still a huge place nonetheless.
------
Of course, as the main CREED was observed and toured as can be, the bonus surprise was where the grandfather and grandson duo were headed towards.
It was in old Sullivan's surprise agenda after all.
Nevertheless, the six-story building was just the start as it isn't exactly able to fit the entirety of the Creed businesses.
Fortunately, there was an extra warehouse building that was probably the greatest bonus in the 8 million package deal.
Since it was previously a base of operations of newsprint, a separate building meant for the print machines was in place.
It was also just adjacent to the main Creed building, so the HQ integration would still be within consideration.
As for what the Creeds would use it for, of course, it would have something to do with drawing and motion... or animation.
As a previous print factory, it had enough dimension to fit all of Creed Animations and even more.
With an area that has more than double the size of the new Creed HQ and more than quadruple the size of the old HQ, the entire place had so much going for it.
Its floor-to-ceiling area was even more spacious which made its functional ventilation quite the feat. It housed inks, papers, and machines after all.
The old owner was quite luxurious with the place and was quite generous with the building packaging deal, so the Creeds wouldn't want to waste any of that opportunity.
The special pieces of equipment haven't even completely been integrated yet but the modifications are already rowdying up the place.
It is the place that is in most need of construction and refitting after all, so it is also the most costly endeavor among the rest.
Drawing stills and shaping them up to complete motion pictures need specialized types of equipment after all.
If the main building was an undertaking to incorporate many fields at once, then the second building of Creed HQ is also a grand undertaking in itself from the intent and renovations alone.
It was a good thing that the place was a nice plain all throughout so everything should be ready and up to schedule.
-----
"This warehouse is way too big that it could probably house about 6 animation productions." Alexander commented by the door as the entire inside was heavy in construction mode.
Sullivan had read up on animation matters with his grandson and was able to chime in. "I can't say that well be able to fit 6 in one go though as animation equipments aren't exactly a walk in the park to get."
"But does this mean, we could still start on it by the date you said it so?" Alexander asked in rare excitement as working on animation seems to impassion him.
"Of course but it would still take some time for the animation recruits to be up to speed or find their groove." There was really no getting around that as they are planning on building things from the leftovers of other animation companies or just from roughed-up scraps they could find.
Whatever the case, preparations are underway on all fronts of the Creed businesses.
