Chereads / Alexander Creed: Re-Life / Chapter 144 - Leveled Self-sufficiency

Chapter 144 - Leveled Self-sufficiency

It had been a week since the new HQ visitation and Alexander had been preparing himself for all the new things he was set to be submerged into for the next months to come.

It was still the third week of January though and as much as the Creed Comics employee wanted to extend their long break, they also want to get back into comic-making activities as well.

As CREED's upper floors were still in disarray, the simple tables, papers, and pens of the second were much simpler to get a start on.

As soon as those Alexander sanctioned rearrangements were done, the 50 comic artists were called on for their upped tasks.

Like many others that would arrive in a new environment, they can't help but ogle at the new place they were going to work in.

A six-floored building was much more impressive than an old two-floored building, that's for sure!

The entrance hall and lobby area still wasn't womanned by a pretty receptionist but it was already so much more impressive than seeing the paperwork people before.

The memo said that the first-floor departments of the old HQ were now on the 5th and 6th floor, which meant those people finally had upgrades of their own.

Of course, like the old place, it also had a cafeteria area with a much homely and properly organized look to it.

They knew that the old Creed boss liked to mingle and chat with the lunch eaters if he ever visits, so they could tell why the first floor had so much emphasis on a better area to talk, mingle, and eat.

Frankly, the old boss was quite a sociable person to work under while the little boss that they were meeting today was a totally different breed.

The little one was much more distant and detachedly inviolable but those things along with his calmness were impressive nonetheless.

The little boss was way too on point and critical with all his editorial requests that it made one wonder how such a logically strict person became the most creative person of the present time.

There were still other legends in other creative industries though but the Creed employees knew how scarily undisputed their little boss was in the comic book industry and even surprisingly so in the toy industry.

Either way, the little one and old one were both Creeds that were also pretty impressive in the realm of business and the employees can only be in awe with what the duo has achieved to date.

This new HQ may just be the start of it all and the employee group was just humbly spectating what is next to come.

-----

The employee worship aside, the group of 50 finally arrived at the second floor and they pioneeringly set foot towards the new working environment that they would be working on.

The place had a familiar setup and at the same time not, while also being much more spacious and numerous than before.

They only had 5 viable setups before to accommodate an entire ten-man team. Now, they had 7 more, which meant that their numbers might grow to 120.

Although they weren't too enthused with having possible newcomers being much more quantitative than them, they still happily welcomed it as the maximum titles that they would be working on would jump to 12.

That was 12 of the most popular, most refreshing, and most sought-after stories from the extremely versatile and leading Creed Comics. How could they not be excited?

As much as the comic-making group takes pride in being an integral part of that success, they were still Creed fans themselves and were as excited to read new Creed stories.

They were pretty much hooked to the job as the rest of the market was hooked to the Creed brand. They had the benefits of knowing the story before anybody else, being able to add to the story themselves, and free incentives to the Creed prints and units that are being marketed.

As much as they tried to stop their excitement, they were still caught up with all the new stuff and new possibilities that they would be a part of.

-----

Eventually, the important matter began and they had to put a bit of a hamper into their enthusiasm.

With the group finding their respective seats, their little boss was also positioned to give them the new agendas and new opportunities that they would be afforded.

"Hello everyone." Alexander greeted and didn't beat around the bush. "As you've seen already, we have shifted a lot of things and also upgraded a lot of our conditions."

"I do hope that none of you would find it difficult to and from this place and your living accommodations." No one was troubled by that as the place is frankly just around the same area as the last place... albeit it was still far in relative distance to each other.

Still, it was acceptable for all of them though as America was a car-centric system as usual.

"Aside from the new headquarters, I'm sure you have seen the multiple workstations we have and you might already know what that means." Alexander was just stating the obvious at this point but it had to be done as explicit statements are more formal than implicit ones.

"New recruits are about to come and you guys have the great advantage to choose and shuffle about as your qualifications can approve."

"What exactly does that mean boss and what parts will we play in that?" Mr. 5 asked as assiduously editorial as he had been.

"Well, it means that the Mr. and Miss 1s to 5s would have their work cut out for them as you will officially be overseeing editors." Alexander gave them quite the timely promotion as the management capabilities of five of them have been quite in line with how he wants his comic books to be.

As much as the 5 people celebrated, the other 45 were quite troubled. Of course, that didn't stay that way for long as Alexander listed out the perks of oldtimers like them.

They have been quite the help for everything to arrive at this point after all and the Creeds weren't that exploitative or ungrateful.

As 12 stations are to be manned, 70 new people had to go through the same learning and adapting process as them. Since Alexander would find it cumbersome to go through the self-sufficiency process once again, it was time for the self-sufficient originals to pass what they learned.

The original old-timers would be scattered throughout the stations and have the newcomers learn the Creed art coherency ropes. They would also finally be able to employ their seniority to voice out their story direction for their assigned comics and the rest of the hierarchy would go on from there.

The newcomers would replace the bumbling 50, the 50 would be semi-authoritative as the 5 leaders have been, while the 5 leaders would be the corrective editors that would round everything out.

At the prime veto and overlooking position would be Alexander, who would ensure that the comic titles would be as effective and cohesive as it has always been with the Creed Comics brand.

Of course, the originals would also be able to branch out or return to their animation roots as they also found out that Creed Animations is in need of their advicorial expertise.

Self-sufficiency was always Alexander's goal for everything from the start and it was quite gratifying to finally see it play out and even expand into other fields.
